Warner Home Video has announced Generation Kill which presents a uniquely epic and intimate portrait of the first 40 days of the Iraq war from the perspective of the Marines of the First Recon Battalion. This 7-part HBO mini-series will be available to own from the 16th December. Extras will include commentary from creators David Simon & Ed Burns, and from the author Evan Wright, Eric Ladin's Video Diaries, a "Making Generation Kill" - 30 minute featurette, and "Generation Kill: A Conversation with the 1st Recon Marines".

Thanks for the news.

I wanted to see this when it aired, but I didn't have the time for 7 weeks straight to sit down and keep track of it, so I've been waiting for the DVDs for the benefit of seeing it all at once, and a 5.1 track. Looks like Christmas will be full of box sets for me!
