Meet the Spartans
--my God its like Hollywood is better off showing a man taking a s*** on the screen for an hour and a half instead of this.

Mummy 3
--they probably only made this movie because Brendan Frasier is so damn desperate for money

Saw V
--...need I say more?

The Eye
--enough with the damn remakes from asian cinema to here. they are all horrible translations, when will they kill this trend for us?

Dragonball
--...don't shoot me, I'm just another fan of the anime series. figures as much huh?

Punisher: War Zone
--...I'm going to just stand around looking cool with a glow-in-the-dark Punisher shirt. need I say more?

Scary Movie 5
--..people are actually making this damn thing? holy crap I don't believe I even found this one on here, ugh

They haven't even finished casting it yet, but in whatever year it's released, I think maybe 2009 it quite possibly will suck.

Meet The Spartans - There is no god.

Mummy 3 - dunno, might be good.

Saw V - I hope this ends soon. lol

The Eye - Looks like crap.

Dragonball - This one is looking worse by the minute.

Punisher: War Zone - You read the script review too, huh? Yeah, that ticked me off.

Scary Movie 5 - Seriously? Another one? Damn.

Meet The Spartans: Ugh, ****.

Tale of Two Sisters: The original wasn't even that great, why remake it?

Handsome Rob
12-19-2007, 10:29 AM
Sex and the City: The Movie...............meh, was Sarah Jessica Parker ever considered sexy by anyone (other then Matthew Broderick)?

Starship Dave............Pluto Nash anyone?

Motel Hell.......if anyone is old enough to remember this horror camp, you would definitely ask yourself why the remake?

Yeah, I keep seeing production shots of it in my wife's mags. I just cannot for the life of me ever figure out its popularity, let alone the need to make a movie out of it. Of course, before I get flamed.....it is IMO.

Meet the Spartans

I got a kick out of that trailer but I bet that is all the funniest parts and now that I have seen then I probably wont laugh at them again.

Yeah this whole thing of the anual Saw movie each year is getting really old. I think this franchise needs to end.

Dragonball Z

Some movie exec had to have been really really stoned to think that this cartoon can be translated into live action film. Probably same people that decided to make Super Mario Bros.

I bet you all cant wait for them to make a Pokemon live action movie
hahahahahahhahahaha:lol:

Speed Racer! Jeez, howcome that movie just doesn't belong in that list! That movie looks so unbelievably BAD!

Scorpio82

Meet the Spartans: Already has the worst trailer ever made (not exaggerating.)

Superhero!: David Zucker hasn't shown any remorse for the last 2 Scary Movies, and yet he's still continuing with this one.

Starship Dave: What if Eddie Murphy lived inside his own head and flew himself around like a spaceship? I actually like the concept, but the potential sex and fart jokes alone are going to give me nightmares ("The reactor core's going to explode! Eject it!" *FART!*)

I can't pick any bad ones out of action or drama yet. Reason being, a bad action movie for me is any movie that doesn't deliver on the action and any retarded monkey with a camera can make a drama, so I've given up on criticizing those until I see them. It's easier to pick bad comedies because good comedy is hard to write and often shows through the filmmakers before a trailer is even released.

Movies to see in 2008:
Rambo
Hancock
Indy 4
Iron Man
Jumper
Speed Racer
Bond 22 (which, if it's titled 007 is already awesome)
Hellboy II

And of course, there will be those award season movies that'll be great.

Movies to avoid:

Everything my gal mentioned including:

Sex and the City - WHY...just why?
Starship Dave - Remember when Eddie Murphy was good? Yeah, it's been a while.
Get Smart - When will The Rock take on more roles like 'The Rundown'?
Death Race - Paul W.S. Anderson. That's reason enough.

Well...at least this won't be 2009 bad.

Motel Hell.......if anyone is old enough to remember this horror camp, you would definitely ask yourself why the remake?

And there's more horror remake junk:

Prom Night - the PG13 rating makes turns it from suck to "suck and blow" to quote Bart Simpson.
April Fool's Day - It will really suck if they mess up the ending where it was all an AFD joke. Nobody dies at all.
Fright Night - It's not 2008 but it's planned and it ticks me off the most since I really love the original starring Roddy McDowell (RIP).

Yeah, Prom Night is going to blow since it's PG-13.

As for April Fool's Day, they will probably Use the legendary extended ending just to satisfy slasher fans.

Fright Night...the jury is still out on that one for me. It could be okay if cast right.

sex and the city- this goes without saying

meet the spartans- idiots that pay to see this crap are the reason that they make more come every year; really, if this does well at the box office, I will declare cinema to be dead and cold.

saw 5- just end it, please

superhero- ever heard of The Incredibles?

scary movie 5- look at "meet the spartans"

starship dave- Eddie Murphy hasn't made a good film since the Nutty Professor, and I severely DOUBT this will redeem his career

dragonball- an american DB movie? why?

speed racer- an american speed racer movie? why?

the eye- stop with remaking good Asian horror films please; and jessica alba is one of the worst actresses of our generation
(if they remake Audition I am just going to die)

get smart- whoever thought of this idea should get smart.

the accidental husband- already has a bad title

high school musical 3- this got greenlit for a THEATRICAL release?!?!?!

prom night- I never even liked the original movies, but britney snow? are you kidding me?!

star trek- it just won't work; I gurantee it

and the new Adam Sandler movie looks silly, but because I'm a Sandler fan, I just might see it anyway.

Just so you know, Superhero! is a spoof movie, not a superhero movie..

But anyway, lots of crap-tastic movies headin' our way..
-April Fool's Day.. The original was horrible, this will be too.
-The I Scream Man.. Haylie Duff is in it. Enough said.
-Haunted High School Musical - Do I even need to explain myself? If a holiday-themed flick like Shrek the Halls didn't warrant a theatrical release, why the hell should this?
-Don't Mess with the Zohan - Adam Sandler, R.I.P.
-Saw 5 - DIE DIE DIE
-Meet the Spartans - Ugh.. It's going to make a pile of money, too..

IAmARevenant
12-30-2007, 05:31 PM

I also consider The Incredibles as a spoof of the superhero genre; except that that movie spoofs the genre in itself, while superhero! will just retell scenes from a popular movie, remind the idiot audience which movie it is, have a character run into something, pause for laughter from idiot audience, and repeat for 70-90 minutes.

A lot of the movies mentioned here is horrible, yes. But thus far, only one movie this year is standing out for me and is set to WIN "The Worst Film of 2008" awards. That film is "Meet the Spartans". That film is the worst piece of mucho-crap ever to grace the big-screen in the new millenium. It is an insult to the people who had to stand there and act in it, it is an insult to the people who had to stand there and produce and film it, and it is an insult to those of us who have to see the trailers play at our theaters.

P.S. kitty, I keep forgetting that your BF is a member here too. But didn't he have a different user name?

Can you really blame the studios? 'Scary Movie 4' made $42 million in three days for God's sake. 'Date Movie' opened with $17 million, and I think 'Epic Movie' did about the same. They're cheap to make (the sets are already made from the ACTUAL movies) and they're a quick cash-in thanks to mall rats everywhere.

Worst movies of this year will probably be:
1. Prom Night - Like this one needed to be remade. Does anyone remember the horrible remake to The Fog?
2. Meet the Spartans - See Epic Movie, Date Movie, etc.
3. Narnia 2 - Didn't even see the first one.
4. Anything with Ben Stiller in it. - He's just not funny.
5. Anything having to do with characters told not to do something and they turn around and do it anyway - see PG13 horror movies.

With a terrible cast comes horrible acting and a lame duck story.
It's pretty bad when Marlon Brando was the best actor in the film and he's dead.
Was I the only one bothered that Superman (?) was drinking beer. They said in the original with Christopher Reeve that he doesn't smoke or drink and there he is drinking away.

I liked saw 4. Yeah it had some problems. But the reason why most people hate the movies now is because the film makers didn't make it the way they wanted it to be.

I can perfectly sum up saw 2, 3, and 4 for you right now. These saw movies are comprised of the following; a very weak story that is loosely put together just in order to try to throw in loads of gore and wannabe shock treatment for the desensitized audiences of our generation for entertainment. The fact that they try to drag it out throughout these movies with the whole 'sympathetic' point of view for the killer and stretching out to a thread why he does what he does is a simple ploy used by the companies so they can milk out this horrible series for all its worth.

Say what you will about HSM but you can't deny for some reason it's very popular. I mean the 2nd one got like 17 Million viewers. Plus I don't think its called Haunted High School Musical anymore.

And popularity means what?

-Fool's Gold
-Step Up 2 the Streets
-Witless Protection
-Meet the Browns
-Drillbit Taylor
-Superhero Movie
-Prom Night
-Sex and the City
-You Don't Mess with the Zohan

I basically went through the list on the main page of release dates and picked some movies out from the next few months.

Step Up 2 boggles my mind. Was the first one good enough review and box office wise to warrant a second one? When I saw the trailer on tv the other day, I had to ask my son if there was actually a first one.

LOL - I'd did the same thing. I had to actually ask my wife if there was a first. I saw the trailer in the theater (I think with Cloverfield) and I sat there with my mouth wide open in shock.

I cant believe nobody has mensioned Ace Ventura 3!!
I mean yeah Josh Flitter's kinda funny but the director, writers and whole cast and crew in general suck! And no Jim Carrey?? WTF man!

I will still see it though just to see if they pay any tribute to the real Ace Ventura whatsoever.

They didn't learn with Dumb and Dumberer or Son of Mask. Jim Carrey is a huge reason why the first movies were successful. An Ace Ventura without Carrey will be awful.

Ace Ventura 3
Sex and the 70... city, whatever
and unfortuantly...
Dragonball

I want Dragonball to actually be good... but fact is, it won't be. I'll definatly see it, very first night it comes out. But it will suck, i'm 91.5% sure.

HaHaHa, I just checked out the trailer for Prom Night. Yeah, it looks pretty bad ... I'll probably still have to check it out (maybe on DVD). I do enjoy crap horror movies.

I heard it had a ridiculously awful opening weekend. Something like $25K on 111 theaters. :)

Drangon Ball Z( i mean its completley retarted there making a movie on this anyways how is anyone gonna take this movie serious???)

Step up 2( iam over these dance movies anyways there stupid as hell and this one looks awful)

Mummy 3 ( honeslty all the signs are pointing towards this being awful..no rachel wiesz and the release date... besides there is no need for a Mummy 3)

Zohan( iam a huge Adam Sandler fan but man the last several years have really sucked for this guy its really all gone down hill since Little Nicky)

I thought this was one of the best/worst "B" movie there was. It was like a car accident, you don't want to watch it but you just have to :)
I was just talking about how this should be remade the day before the announcemnt came out with my brother.
We're both fans of "B" movies. Watching movies like this is like having your own MST party! :)

am i the only one wanting to see saw 5?!?!?!?!
I can't wait for that to come out.
There aren't that many movies out today that are written well or acted well, but the special effects just get better.
With Saw even if you think that you know what's going to happen you don't.
I have all 4 of the others and can't wait for this 1 to come out.
Just one more piece of the "puzzle" :)

I'm not anticipating Saw V. I mean, they have ran the series into the ground. They keep making more and more. They are losing originality. Each one is less original, but much gorier.
