So, I have no idea if this show will ever be on again or not - but it was one of my guilty pleasures. I really liked it. What do you guys think of it getting canceled? I'm pretty disappointed, and I hope A&E will reconsider.

well, if you carry yourself as a hero - you'd better clean up your act and live up to it.
Nobody's perfect but there was no reason for the use of that language. Its tough when you have a fractured family and I hope he is still up do doing what he does and trying to mend the broken fences of his family.

didn't he always say stuff about god and jesus and stuff to the people he apprehended? hmm weird...

I actually saw the guy a couple of times at the convention center promoting his show and stuff. In person he's a really down to earth guy. Sure, he's been through a lot of crap in his life and yes it's still no explaination for his verbal outbursts, but hey, everyone uses racial slurs in their conversations now and then. Not just white people. It's just more noticable when they do it.

It's funny though, because that station where he always drops off his catches is actually the back entrance to the Honolulu Police Headquarters, and everyday I pass by it I keep laughing and wondering if I'll see them filming something. I guess that's not gonna happen anymore...

Listened to some sound bytes of him this morning on the radio and he was talking in an interview about being buried with George Washington's slaves on Mount Vernon in an unmarked grave. He said because he knows he will never be forgiven for what he said in this lifetime but maybe they will understand him long after he is gone and his place with them. He thought it was an ok word for him and that they were "brothas from another mutha" :omg: ..................ok yeah, he is either drinking or Michael Richards crazy.

im aware, i just find it comical that this man, who preaches high morals and going to church, seems to go off on a tirade, directed at his estranged sons girl friend, calling her the N word. and then what rob just said leads me to believe, that Dog is a damned genius. he played everyone who thought he was religious, really, hes just in it for the cash.

good riddance.

I actually really like the show, and I get so tired of hearing people get their panties all up in a bunch when someone says the "N" word. Like they need this deep spiritual healing or some bullcrap. Why does everyone feel like they have to pander to Jesse Jackson and Al Crapton to gain forgiveness? Too bad. :( I like his show, and hope it returns personally.

On another note - looking at the guy, are any of us REALLY surprised by his language? I mean... honestly. ;)

I hate to quote South Park in such an important subject, but Token was right when he said that Jesse Jackson is NOT the emperor of black people. Neither is Al Sharpton. But I agree in the fact that people would be almost dense to think that Dog is an angel with a mullet, lmao.

Duane 'Dog' Chapman apologizes for slur Thu Nov 8, 1:36 AM ET

LOS ANGELES - Bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman says he can be taught new tricks — and one of them is never to use the "N-word" again.

Chapman, 54, apologized Tuesday to blacks and to all Americans for repeatedly using the racial slur during a March phone call to his son, Tucker, urging him to break up with a black girlfriend. The recent Web release of the recorded conversation by The National Enquirer led the A&E television network to put Chapman's reality show indefinitely on hold.

Chapman, who had issued a written apology, followed it up in his first interview since the scandal broke by remarking: "Never again. This dog learns."

In the interview with Sean Hannity for the Fox News "Hannity & Colmes" show, Chapman denied being a racist and said he used the N-word conversationally when talking to black acquaintances.

"I thought that I was cool enough in the black world to be able to use that word as a brother to a brother," he said. "I'm not. I didn't know really know until three or four days ago what that meant to black people."

"I now learned I'm not black at all," Chapman said. "And I never did it out of hate."

"All black people in America I owe an apology to," Chapman said during in the interview. "Whether, how dark I think I am, I cannot say that word. I owe the rest of the people, whether they are black or not in America, an apology because people look up to me."

"If I could kill myself and people would forgive me, I would do that," he said.

Chapman also specifically apologized to his son's girlfriend, Monique Shinnery. But Shinnery told the Enquirer that Chapman's attorney, not the TV star, called with an apology.

Chapman also said he is making a deal to be buried at a historic slave burial ground near George Washington's Mount Vernon home.

"I want to be buried right where they're at because I will never be forgiven as (long as) I'm alive," Chapman said.

Chapman appeared on CNN's "Larry King Live" on Wednesday night. He told King that he used the N-word not because of Shinnery's race, but to make a point with his son, who had served time for robbery.

"I referenced it, the only word I know, that would hurt his feelings or catch his attention very fast — never as a prejudicial or racial slur or anything like that," Chapman said.

The Honolulu-based bounty hunter first grabbed headlines when he captured serial rapist and Max Factor heir Andrew Luster in Mexico in 2003.

His TV series followed him and his tattooed crew as they tracked down bail jumpers. The show starred some members of Chapman's family, but Tucker Chapman was not regularly featured.

I never cared for his show, nor do I care much about what happens to him, but to take so much slack for saying a word, shows us how "senstive" and annoying our society is.

its things like this, that make me dislike society as a whole.

They should leave Dog alone and get the show back up on the air, that conversation was private and his son legally had to ask his dad to record the conversation and he didn't. Let me quote avenue q...

"Everyone's a little bit racist
Sometimes.
Doesn't mean we go
Around committing hate crimes.
Look around and you will find
No one's really color blind.
Maybe it's a fact
We all should face
Everyone makes judgments
Based on race.

Everyone's a little bit racist
Today.
So, everyone's a little bit racist
Okay!
Ethinic jokes might be uncouth,
But you laugh because
They're based on truth.
Don't take them as
Personal attacks.
Everyone enjoys them -
So relax!"

He is a raciest right?? I have seen his show a couple times, i really enjoyed it. It's crazy how they made a show out of him. I bet it must be hard to be a bounty hunter..and a risky job. He is a pretty buff guy but still

Meh - honestly I thought his interview on Hannity and Colmes was disgusting. It's sad to see that people think they need to pander to Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. This whole notion of everyone calling everyone a racist makes me want to be racist.

Bounty hunter coming back to the small screen

HONOLULU, Hawaii (AP) -- TV bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman is preparing a return to the airwaves.

Duane "Dog" Chapman's show was pulled off the air in November.

The Chapman family confirmed Thursday that filming is set to resume on the A&E show "Dog the Bounty Hunter."

The show features Chapman and crew in pursuit of bail jumpers in Hawaii and other states.

It was the highest rated show on A&E before the network pulled it off the air in November.

Chapman was heard in a taped phone conversation using a racial slur in reference to his son's black girlfriend.

Chapman has apologized and tried to make amends with the network and the black community.

Network officials say that since the show is about second chances, they decided to accept his apology and resume production. No air date has been announced.

I'll tune in. For some reason - I kinda liked the show. I liked seeing Hawaii I think more than anything, but it was still entertaining.

MasterChief117

No different than Hitmen making money. People put warrants out for money, Dog and his gang of misfits goes out and captures them. Money comes and there rich. Thing about it, is there pretty decent at doing it so Discovery is like why the hell not give them a TV show...Sounds stupid, I know.

I can't wait until the first time that he goes after a black person. This should make 10 to 15 minutes of some of the funniest TV in the longest time.

You can pretty much guarantee that either the first or second episode will have to do with racial sensitivity.

And Masterchief, calling him and his family a gang of misfits is not really nice. If you want to be correct, the term is white trash ;)

I liked the show for its raw nature. Dog is no rocket scientist or english major. He is from the streets and he talks like he is from the streets. Right or wrong, A&E knew that was part of his life. They are not kidding when they say, "You can take a man from the streets, but you will never take the streets from the man."

Imas got his job back didn't he? I'll never listen to him or Michael Richards again but it is their rights not mine. I have free will to turn the channel.

I thought it was pretty weak. Personally I think the black community is just looking for crap to whine about when it comes to racial slurs. Credit Al Crapton and Jesse "the Body" Jackson for that.
