Fido is a very fresh and hilarious comedy that many may have missed but should see.

The story is very cheesy and begins with a black and white film bout the "Zombie Wars" which explains that a radioactive cloud from space came to Earth and re-animated the dead turning them into Zombies and anyone who dies from then on becomes a Zombie. This film is very funny as it pokes fun at films like Night of the Living Dead and such sci-fi films from that era. It goes on to explain that the Zombies have been domesticated by a company call ZomCon using collars around their neck which stops them from eating people. The film then follows the Robinson family when they finally get a Zombie which Timmy calls Fido. Its all going well till Fido eats one of the neighbours and hilarity ensues from then on...

Many people may look at this as an imitation of Shaun of the Dead which i can't quite comment on because i could only get about 20 minutes into Shaun before i turned it off but from what i saw this is entirely different. The acting is all very tongue in cheek which helps the silly premise rather than hinder it. There are many funny moments in the film the ones i found the funniest are between Fido and Mrs Robinson(Carrie-Anne Moss) with some sexual tension which i found hilarious. There is a funny cameo with the neighbour Mr. Theopolis who has a relationship with his Zombie Tammy.

As i said this film is very tongue in cheek mimicking the 60's culture and blending that in with Zombies. I would highly recommend checking this out.

8/10
