Alright what is everyones favorite cliffhangers at the end of the season finales?
i have to say that the best one ive seen is the end of Season 2 of Alias. Very original, vrey unexpected way to end this season and lead into the third. Second is the recent Lost finale.
Also to be mentioned X-Files season 4 (mulder suicide??), west wing season 1 (assassination attempt), and 24 season 5 (off to china..... despite the fact that nothing actually came from that)

Babylon 5 - season 3 -Sheridan "dies" on Zha'ha'dhum
Lost - season 3 - wtf? the future??
Galactica Season 1 - Adama shot/ people stranded on Kobol
Shield Season 5 - kind of a cliffhanger....."What is Mackey going to do?"

Supernatural Season 1- John, Sam, and Dean all looked dead (and the show wasn't picked up for next season yet, so it could've stayed that way)

Galactica Season 1 and 2 has mouth-dropping finales (not so much the third season). Lost Season 3 is another big one. 24 Season 5 had a big ass one.

But the most shocking for me has to be The O.C. Season 3. AYE CARAMBA!

BSG does have great finals, season 3 was ok but the last 5mins where like WOW.

Alias always had great finals I thought, Lost season 3 was good.

24 season 2 final I liked.

Season 1 Doctor Who is hard to top, a new Doctor and all we get is him saying, "Right. Oh! New teeth weird. Now where was I?"

Season 1 Lost, all this time to open the hatch and we still don't know what's down there but we know we are so close.

I hate cliffhangers at the end of a season. I prefer every season having its story come to a close(except overarching sls of course) so that there's no chance of the network pulling a Surface, or attempt to pull a Jericho.

That said... Jack Bauer getting taken to China after the 5th(?) season of 24 was pretty good.

i kind of agree with you there, its nice when a story is wrapped up, but at the same time i'm okay with them. a finale like the alias season 2 works well on both levels, and the latsest lost finale, where i think both the stories are wrapped up and we're left hanging as well.
