Anyone else interested in seeing the extra content in this release? I thought that Alexander was a pretty good movie, the battle scenes were definitely epic and, while the movie did take certain liberties with the history of the subject matter, it was still very entertaining. I had read they actually are putting in tickets to see '300' in theaters with this dvd as well when it's released, sounds interesting.... Here's some more info on it http://alexanderthemovie.warnerbros.com/

I'm torn. I loved the theatrical version, but I did come out of the theater wanting more. I never bought the faux-director's cut that came out with the theatrical. I knew there was something fishy about that release. If it goes for a decent price I may get it because it's an official director's cut. Plus, the 300 ticket is a definite bonus.

I remember renting this and getting unbelievably bored 70 minutes in. I don't think I could handle a 900 minute cut.

Ive always loved this movie. Ive always thought it was really well done and could never, for the life of me, understand why its so hated. I really cant. Anyway, I do own the Director's Cut, but I would love to check out the Final Cut, the true version Oliver Stone wanted.

Anyone else pick up the dvd? I got it now I've got my ticket to see 300 in hand, I just watched revisited last night but didn't make note of all of the changes, but I noticed alot of the deleted scenes as well as changes in editing, although my memory of seeing the theatrical version in 2004 isn't all that great. I was really glad to see that the battle scenes were all extended and they really have more of a visceral effect than in the theatrical version too.

btw, this might interest someone. There was also a link to this contest in the dvd I got where, apparently you make your own trailer for the movie to enter, some of the prizes seem alright. http://www.alexanderdvd.com

Just finished watching it. I've only seen bits and peices of the theatrical version on tv and seemed okay. I bought this version simply for the 300 ticket. The film was pretty damn good. It held my interest, the preformances were good (surprisingly liked Colin Farrel) and the battle scenes were amazing. While this "Final Cut" doesn't acheive the greatness of the Kingdom Of Heaven Director's Cut, this was a really good movie and I'm happy I bought it.

8.5/10

Someone would have to pay me to watch this movie again, uncut or not. This is the one movie I've seen that was actually just as bad as everyone said it was. Free 300 ticket? You'd have to give me a free trip to Greece before I buy this "movie."

Thanks for that link to the recut version of alexander. I just figured they were just throwin in another random lil scene but after watching that trailer they had on the homepage i was totally convinced to get the new dvd. And it came with a free pass to the movie 300 which i saw and was seriously such an amazing 2 hours. Id suggest purchasing this dvd to anyone

Pacing slaughtered this movie. Is it seriously 900 minutes? And is it re editted? Because that's cruel and unusual punishment.

Not 900 minutes at all  I think the added scenes actually improve the movie, it has been re-editied and restructured as well. Worth checking out if you didn't like the theatrical.
