What was your favorite album of 06? I can't really pick one...so here's my list...
Hip Hop is Dead - Nas
Food n Liquor - Lupe Fiasco
Stadium Arcadium - RHCP
Sam's Town - The Killers
Fishscale - Ghostface Killah
Everready (The Religion) - Tech N9ne
Dracula

Stadium Arcadium - RHCP
Why, because it's the only one I've heard :D
Oh...doesn't have to be from my list...that's just my personal list for this year.
Didn't mean for it to look like a poll if that's how it came across.

Well there were many good releases this year, but I'll have to say my fav is Ganging Up On The Sun by Guster.
Others include Snow Patrol, Keane, Kate Havnevik, Hem and others. But Guster's record just does it for me more so than the others. Not by a lot mind you, and I'm not saying that it's the best--musically speaking. But it is my favorite.
Now, if you include albums that I bought this year, and not just those that were released this year, it would be a much tougher choice. Maybe someone should start a thread for that subject. :)

Come on, Drac...you have got to get out and buy some new music. Or is it hard to find open stores where you live after the sun goes down?? ;)

I get my music from... "interesting" sources. really that was just a lot of stuff I was never interested. If I were pressed to pick a favorite of 2006, and I only have eight, I'd probably pick the new Pearl Jam.
I would have read the first post more clearly if it hadn't been one in the morning, I had just awoken. :P

Ah, I follow you. I guess I should have read the first three posts a little more clearly myself.

Wow...There's been some pretty good releases this year...I'll just pick a few that took me by surprise and were actually really good.
Tool - 10,000 Days (this whole album is great, with the exception of a couple filler tracks, each song though is fantastic. The epic that is "Wings For Marie Part 1" and "10,000 Days Wings Pt. 2" is one of the best songs I've ever heard.)
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium (very rare for a double album to be filled with tremendous songs)
Muse - Black Holes & Revelations (Muse is one of my favorite bands and this album was something different than 'Absolution' but with songs like "Take A Bow", "Starlight", "Map Of The Problematique", and "Knights Of Cydonia"...this is just one killer cd.)
Deftones - Saturday Night Wrist (I think this is their second best album only behind 'White Pony'...the Deftones nailed it with this cd, really good stuff.)
Stone Sour - Come What(ever) May (Now this cd is definitely one of favorites of the year; I liked the first Stone Sour cd, but I am in love with this one. Corey Taylor proves he is one of the best vocalists in the music industry.)
Incubus - Light Grenades (Another great cd from Incubus; I was let down somewhat with "A Crow Left Of the Murder", but this one is right up there with Make Yourself or Morning View.)
Breaking Benjamin - Phobia (Huge fan of BB and this cd did not disappoint. Good to see them straying away from nothing but power chords in their songs, and the acoustic version of "Diary of Jane" is beautiful and better than the original.)
Killswitch Engage - As Daylight Dies (This album got me back into what I almost had forgotten about Killswitch; dude's are one of the best brutal yet melodic metal bands out there.)
Papa Roach - The Paramour Sessions (was very surprised with this album; I personally think it is Papa Roach's best work to date.)
Some other notable releases from 2006:
Audioslave - Revelations
Mars Volta - Amputechture
Lacuna Coil - Karmacode
Rob Zombie - Educated Horses
Plus 44 - When Your Heart Stops Beating
Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam
Strapping Young Lad - The New Black
Angels & Airwaves - We Don't Need To Whisper
I had completely forgotten about Tool and A&A...both very good albums.
