I installed Dragon on my computer last week and have been using voice commands to do everything and it rocks my world. My neck had been sore for weeks and I guess it musta been the mouse because it went away. Anyway, wondering if anyone knows if they’ve developed/are developing a voice recognition system for gaming? Would be great. If so, I hope it’s the same people that made this: http://www.nuance.com/naturallyspeaking/

Your mouse caused your neck to be sore? You do realise you're suppose to use your hand for your mouse, right? :hehe:
And what games would this same kind of system work for in gaming? Text-based adventure games are kinda dead, and telling your person where to move and go with your voice seems a little far fetched.
There are obviously games that could be made that would recognise your voice and put it into play (it'd just be in addition to a controller though), but it would make no sense to be made by that company, as it would be using a completely different style of play in which you use your voice. I think there is one being developed for the PS3, if I'm remembering one of their demos from 2005 correctly, where characters would respond to what you say.
Either way, this seems more like a blatent advertisement for the "Naturally Speaking" device, trying to disguise itself as a game related post so it doesn't get deleted. As such, because it barily makes sense how voice commands could possibly replace your use of a console controller or the keyboard+mouse combo, unless you're starting a completely new genre, and it would obviously only work for single-player.

Usually, its my wrist that gets sore when I use the computer...but its not from the mouse.

You could ask them if their naturally speaking device helps in your situation. ;)
