Some of you may be aware of "Big-Boards" it tracks the most active message boards and forums on the web. It currently has 1839 message boards in it's database!

How the Hypes closure has boosted the big board stats for ComingSoon.net from the 12-08-06 it's a massive jump.

It's interesting comingsoon is very similar to a board that shall remain nameless, that is about 15 places behind the Hype on Bigboards, yet comingsoon.net is the original that Hype came from and is many many places behind that nameless similar board. I don't really understand why!!!!

Perhaps comingsoon.net needs a Vs. forum as this is the busiest on said nameless board.

That much is true, however whilst being judged by peers is an individuals right and still the best system. Mistakes get made. I also find hearing first hand how sordid some peoples lives are mildly distasteful my friend.

Remember not to get caught up in the drama presented by lawyers. a lot of times they present stuff to you with such flare and dramatic tone, that really weak evidence comes across as bombshell.

also remember innocent untill proven guilty, and if you disagree with everybody else, don't just go along with the group so you can get out of there faster.

and if it's a he said/she said case, you should expect strong evidence in exchange for a guilty verdict. don't do the whole "well the allegation is really horrible and disgusting therefore they must be guilty" thing.

I personally like to think that amount of posts doesn't equate to the quality of the forums. Just because a board has a lot of posts during a certian period doesn't make them better. On the other hand, just because we don't have as many doesn't make us any better either. Its about the quality of it all. Its kinda like judging movies simply based on thier box office gross. Its not a very accurate barometer.

That is true Liz. CS does get more front page traffic. I don't know why that doesn't translate onto the forums, but it apparently doesn't.

It may be more that people are checking CS for info, but talking about it offline with friends and acquaintences (like people they work with or something), and not on message boards. With the Hype!, the more narrow nature of the subject may mean that people don't necessarily have friends offline that have the same interest or the same intensity of interest (I know I've heard this on the Hype!) so they look online for someone to talk with about the subject.

Don't know if that's true or not, but it does seem a possibility.
