Have you ever experienced a phantom cell phone ring or vibration? Did you think that your phone was ringing or vibrating when in fact it was not?
This is becoming a common psychological phenomenon, and I just want to see how many of "us" have experienced it.
I have check my "vibrating" phone many times only to find that it wasn't. I can think of at least three different times that it happened.

Yes, only because many sounds are very similiar to the ringtone I have selected, and I have to check it to make sure it wasnt that.
I dont carry it on my person, it is in my purse, that the vibration dont notice, but on the rare times I do have it in my pocket and it rings, the vibration nearly scares me out of my skin, because I am not expecting it.

More commonly, I try to answer my phone when my clock alarm goes off, and vice versa.
...I think it's much funnier when I'm hitting the snooze button over and over when my phone is ringing. At least, I would be laughing if I wasn't so tired.

everyonce in awihle. its always at times when i'm trying to eat or take a shower, so running to the phone is problematic.
sometimes i hear the "ping" of an aim message too, and then return to my computer to have no new messages.

I try not to carry a cell phone ... it's too easy for the government, my wife and my boss to track me down as it is ...

cell phones suck. I have learned from experience, that they do not in fact make your life easier. In fact they make it a lot more difficult and a lot more stressful, because they ring every 30 freaking seconds!

That happens to me with the vibration. I tend to carry a lot of stuff in my pockets, so everytime something shifts it feels like I've gotten a text.

Usually happens when I'm in the car listening to the radio.

A lot of songs put a cell phone in, just to piss us off I think. I get the vibrating without a call sometimes in my front pocket....... It's kinda nice:omg: in a comforting way.

The vibrate/silent mode doesn't work as well these days, because you can still hear it buzzing. Even if it's not yours.

I find myself checking my phone, thinking it's ringing a lot. I don't think it helps having a ringtone that's musical instead of a regular ringing noise.

I keep my phone on vibrate all of the time, but this has never happened to me

Same here. I usually have parts of songs as my ringtone so when the radio starts to play sounds in the background that kinda sound like the song I chose I think its my phone.
Also, my phone has the vibrate on/off button on the side of the phone (and when you turn vibrate on it vibrates for a bit to show you it works), so sometimes when its in my pocket and I'm moving around that button gets hit and I think I'm getting a call.
