If there's one bad influence anime has had on the American animation industry, (okay, there's about a million of 'em!) One of the more prominent issues is Male-orientated cartoons featuring over-standing female co-stars/sidekicks. This is mostly true with action cartoons.
I'm just gonna say this once.. I AIN'T TRYING TO BE SEXIST HERE! MERELY STATING AN OBSERVATION!
I don't mind female characters in action cartoons in the least, but these teenage mutant valleygirl bimbos who all act like they came off a BARBIE assembly line are a poison in modern toons. Everything from Kim Possible, to Totally Spies, to X-men: Evolution, The Batman and (To a far more satisfactory extent) Teen Titans.
I could blame anime, or the god awful TEEN-SPIES trend.
The way I see it, there are 3 kinds of toons nowadays:
Cartoons for Girls
Cartoons for Girls and Boys
and Cartoons for Boys that try to appeal to Girls.
Something's missing here!
