The Worlds Fastest Indian

Sir Tony Hopkins is an icon! The Worlds Greatest Actor! He has done the most amazing work and "The Worlds Fastest Indian" is a tailor made vehicle for Sir Tony. Roger Donaldson teams up with Hopkins again (The Bounty) to tell the real story of Burt Munro, a gearheaded old coot from New Zealand who went on to break the land speed record in 1962-1967. Well in his 80's, Burt is an obsessive man with a fast 1928 Indian Motorcycle. From his garage in Kiwi Country, he treks to America to enter his bike in a yearly competition in Utah (Bonneville Salt Flats). Burt is old and dying, with a bumb ticker but he did his lifes dream.

'Rocky' meets 'October Sky', and it's a fine film with a heart. Burt is real, and Tony makes him a loveable man with the strength to live his dream. Donaldson wrote this labor of love also (he did a docu of Burt Munro) and he is a fine craftsman. The final race is pumped with great editing and real pain. A fine film and made me liek going to the movies again.

No pretense, no bitterness, just looking for entertainment and calling them like he sees them.
In my opinion, THAT'S the kind of critics we need; the kind that don't make a living off it. JOE ROGAN!

After all the months the movie has been out (came out back in October in NZ) I still haven't gone to see this. And it's still screening in fact.
