Well I figured I better create it now or someone else might. And its like two months away. But anyway this show sounds very promosing. (I think Fox has the best new shows this fall)

Pre-Thoughts?

I think it's a show you have to watch. I'm not sure if it'll last, lot of competition, but the premise and a good cast (I love Kiefer Sutherland) make it very interesting.

Keifer's got 24 hours to stop the assassination of the first promising black candidate for US president... now a US senator. At the same time, keifer's daughter has gone missing. He must solve both in one day, the day of the California primaries and the assassination plot.

The show runs in real time, with a clock sometimes inprinted to show progress, and split screens at times to show different people doing different things at same time.

LOOKS GREAT!

Here's some pics from the latest Maxim. Elisha Cuthbert plays Keifer's daughter. Canadians will know who she is. http://www.maximonline.com/big_show/remote_patrol/elishaCuthbert/gm_l8.jpg

If you don't want to buy it, heres the little article.
YOU KNOW HER AS: You don’t, unless you’re into Canadian TV movies or Nickelodeon’s Are You Afraid of the Dark? Yeah, didn’t think so.

NEW SHOW: 24, in which a CIA team has just one day (played out over 24 episodes) to identify and track an assassin. And wouldn’t you know it—he has an unlisted phone number. (Fox, Tuesday, 9 P.M.)

SHE PLAYS: Special Agent Kiefer Sutherland’s rebellious daughter Kimberly. While Dad’s saving democracy, Kim’s chasing guys. “In other words,” 18-year-old Elisha says, “I’m very cool on this show.”

REALITY PROGRAMMING: Because 24 takes place in one day, Elisha’s wardrobe consists of the same tank top and hip-hugger jeans on every episode: “It’s like The Flintstones. Did you ever see Wilma in a different outfit? I just hope the clothes don’t go out of style by the end of the season.”

SO WHO NEEDS CLOTHES? “I’ve had dreams of ripping off my shirt and dancing on the bar. But, in reality, I’m the one who slows my friends down. So I’m not really like Kimberly at all. Which is OK, because that’s what acting is all about.”

I read on CNN today, that Fox has pulled the commericials but hasn't decieded to pull it. It premieres at the end of October and they said they show focuses more on the character and the people around him. There is terrorism but nothing compared to what happened in Manhattan, Washington, and Penn.

Fantastic! The Future of Television!

Had to wait an extra week, and the plane expolsion was edited but it was just television drama at its best. Like watching a movie. This will be a great season. Good cast. Keifer and Elisha provide the Canadian connection. Never missed a second. I'm just waiting for some shock cliffhanger.

Can't wait to next week.

This show rocked... that's all I can say. It's probably one of the best premieres I've ever seen. I give it an A+. Full of action, great acting, a hot undercurrent of sex, suspense had you on the edge for the entire show! By the end of the show, I ended up trusting NONE of the characters ('cept, of course, Kiefer).

Well to make the plot even better, they kill off his buddy, place Nina as the mole, and really see that thos guys mean business.

Another great episode which really wants you to watch the next one. Mia shows some skin. I don't think Nina is the mole. It would be to easy to find out in the second episode. Someone is setting her up. Most likely that guy who wants the truth. Get her fired and then he'll move up. But another great episode and I missed Frasier's 200th but I'll catch that sometime later.

Ho hoho. Once again a great episode. Janet and Kim being chased by the two guys was the most suspensful thing of the series so far. Palmer seems to have a dark backround. Lesbian kiss with two hotties. Gets better and better. If I had to watch one thing next week it would be 24.

This show is definitely the best on television right now. It's got me TOTALLY hooked, and FOX made such a brilliant move on re-airing the episodes on FX! If only, all other shows would do the same.

Well didn't top last week's but it set the stage for next weeks. Still well acted, directed and written. The ratings haven't been good on the Nielsens. If this show bites the dust it will be even more an outrage than SportsNight or whatever that ABC show was written by Sorkin. I'm thinking that Alan York might not be the real Alan. It could be a phony. He disobeyed that cop and made them wait a long time. Those two guys better get what they deserve.

And don't think bc you missed the first episode you'll be out of it. Got to the site, ask anyone whos watched it or watch the 'previously' at the start.

This episode was a hell of a lot better than last weeks. Last week's was tedious and cliched with the focus too much on those damn girls. Who knows what's what now? Is it the girl who the keycard belongs too and we only think it's not her because of her alibi? Is it the computer chick? I'm happy as long as they don't pull that "old man leader you thought was dead really isn't and is in on it" sh1t!

In the word of Moe, "Pretty clever." That was a smart jail break. I figure the chopped up body is just the owner of the cell phone and car.

Janet - She's either dead or kidnapped. But great cliffhanger! And next week's looks great.

This is a tremendously well done show that entertains.

I personally think the last episode should be lead-in to next year. Something along the lines of Jack's wife being kidnapped on the season finale, and he gets to spend another day running through LA.

If the ratings don't improve, there's not much doubt it won't go past this season. It might have done better in the ratings if they hadn't delayed its premiere due to the 9/11 tragedy. Also, ratings might be better if not for Smallville being so successful.

Give those guys the Emmys. Any possible one they could get. Started slow but what happened probably is the most interesting-intriguing-suprising stuff since the first show.

Well it was confirmed that Alan York really wasn't Al. Total phony. The body was the real one. I figured that out once they said they had a Id for John Doe. But now they have Jack cut off and under camera. I didn't get to see the promo (dish is down, and stuck with local Canadian non-Fox channel) but I did here Jack shoots Nina. (bus she's so hot?!) Anyway the show gets better and better!

That death scene was some powerful stuff.

This show just blows me away. It's one of the best TV shows I've seen in a long time. Yes, that scene in the hospital... man, that was scary.

It's too bad we have to wait until January for new episodes! AGHHHHH!

I have a thought tho, once the series is finished. It would be awesome if FX did a 24 hour marathon of the series, matching hour for hour! I think that would be very cool. Heck, I'd stay up the whole time and see it straight through!

Some fans at the site suggested FX should have a marathon on New Years Day of all the episodes that have aired. So people can re-watch or catch up or SEE WHAT THEY ARE MISSING! But of course that would be to easy and the right thing to do.

slinger
12-24-2001, 06:17 PM
To qualify for the Golden Globes a show must air seven original episodes. Due to Sept.11 and the whole deal 24 only aired 6. So they bent the rules and 24 will air the next episode in New York City and LA on the 27th. It won't be in primetime, but if you're able to get any of the Fox stations from those two cities you'll be able to see the next hour.

I've got DirecTV so I'll be watching.

Well I never watched that episode. Apparently it aired at 3AM LA time. Anyway the one that aired then aired tonight.

Once again fantastic show. I hate to get repetive but everything was great. Suprises. Suspense. Little romance. Intrigue. Great acting. Well Jamie is the mole. She's got that skank look that looks so decieving. When she asked Terri if she phoned the police, gave herself away rigth there. I would've killed Kevin (phony Alan York). Looks like the hit could be next week at the breakfast but I'm thinking Gaines has a Plan B. Kim has got Stockholm Syndrome going now. Tsk tsk.
But once again great show. There's still 17 more to go!!!

Seriously 24 is excellent, but I'm not holding my
breath because I question if we will get to see
all 24 bours by early June, the traditional "end" of the TV season. They were supposed to show 12
episodes in the fall/winter season and 12 in the
Feb-May or spring season. Well due to 9-11 and
poor planning, yesterday completed epidose 7.
And with the ratings battle due in February and

slinger,

You could be right. However, I just think the show has gone way over the top in making you think that Tony is/was the mole. At this point, I just don't think he is. Who knows.... There've been some crazy twists in this show so far, so you could turn up to be right! :)

I for one still do not trust Nina, no matter WHAT she's gone through.

ce again excellent show! Still not even half way through the season. They're this close from taking the crown away from The X-Files as Masters of Cliffhangers. And what a cliffhanger they left us with.

Immediatly I thought someone killed her. I still think she was. Did she think sooner or later she was going to die so she might as well get it over? No. Milo or perhaps someone else figured it out once he was told that her son Kyle was there. So he knew he had to shut her since they were going to blackmail her. He sees Nina and Tony leave, enters the room, Jamey is excited, probably asked him to uncuff her, sees him smash the mug, says something like "I always was better than you." and then cuts her arm up. He leaves heads back to his station, Tony and Nina tell him to ask him to tell them when Kyle gets here. They go into the room, see what has happened, try to stop the bleeding, Milo phones to make sure they've seen it and so Kyle doesn't see it. Now does Gaines no know that Jamey is dead? Milo could've contacted Gaines or someone close to Gaines, said alright tell them what to do now. Thats my theory if I'm wrong about them leaving the room and going directly to Milo making it impossible for him to do it than sorry.

Palmer's wife makes things stickier for him. This will be great to see how this plays out. I have hunch that his son will be killed one by the time the clock reaches 11:59 P.M. I bet the wimps who still watch the show will whine about the whole Guard/Terri/Kim thing. I thought it made things interesting. Oh I don't like that Lauren character. Ratting him out did get him to his car, but still. Gaines was hardly seen at all. Probably talking to the character that will be played by Dennis Hopper, the sniper and some of his cronnies trying to figure out how to snuff this guy. They should be pretty close to finishing filming the season by now. Or maybe its done. I just hope some people tuned in after seeing the clip on the Golden Globes and with Keifer Sutherland winning for Best Actor.

The first of tweleve in a row aired last night. This one wasn't as good as some of the previous but its still better than anything else on TV. Had some intenese scenes and looks like Gaines will be gone in two episodes and this new CTU boss, Alberta will complicate things even more at CTU. Palmer is also not getting any better with his situation. No shirtless Nina, but I sense that she and Alberta will have a cat fight of some sorts.

11th episode lacked cliffhanger, but the preview for next week looks like it could be one of the best shows of the season. Things are more interesting (if thats possible) now too. Should've saw the Kevin thing coming. Very intense scene between Jack and the Serbian. Eli finally is killed. Gaines seems to be gone. The thing I want to know (as well as others) is Palmer's connection with Jack and Operation Nightfall in Serbia two years ago. I believe its eight episodes til Dennis Hopper appears. No shirtless Nina. Or bisexual Mandy. (she does next week)

Episodes 12 and 13 layed out the direction for the remainder of the season. In 13, Palmer finally shows that he's determined to win, confident he will win. But he let them get away with that murder. Gaines finally is killed by Jack. Kevin still needs to be finished. Kim and her love for Rick, idiot. When she finds out Janet is dead she'll think twice about it. At the end it felt like it was The Terminator heading out to kill Palmer. Cool music in this one.

Little action here. Kevin finally dies. He survived longer than I expected, and well kinda wished he could have more punishement or atleast have Jack kill him but the sniper works in a pinch.

I think the shower with Kim is going to happen next. Oh and little red bra from that traitor.

Things looks good for the final ten episodes. Jack finally gets some food. Hope Alberta gets a slap in the face. Palmer and Jack meet face to face next week.

Palmer and Bauer face to face! Okay so they already saw eye to eye earlier in the day (season) but this time they finally find out why this is all going on. When I first heard that the season's story is about revenge I was puzzled, but now everything is in place really. Anyway that Palmer Aid that had sex with one of the snipers has no connection to Serbia or anything. She's going to be a important character in the next one. Terri is just pissed that she finally figured out who Jack was with. But its Tina, he'd be stupid not to. They better kill Rick off since I'm just tired of the Kim and Rick thing. Alberta got screwed, finally she gets what she deserves. Well not all of what she deserves. I'm still thinking Tony is working for Drazen.
And was that Oliver Stone as the guy in New Orleans? Well it looked like him, you could almost swear it was him. That missing page that he was trying to find will probably be the cliffhanger for the next show. Only nine left.

ehh... that was probably the worst show of the season. Weren't you tired of all those breaks Terri and Kim were taking? And Nina just took all the crap that Terri said since she doesn't want to get 'screwed' by the boss. Palmer situation is heating up. The preview looks great something's going to happen too. Terri's full memory loss is retarded. Shock would be alright, but not stuff. And we all knew Kim jumped, maybe if there was two shows instead of eight left it would be believable. (nice cleavage shot) Tony has to be the mole.

Well that was much better than last week's. The last twenty minutes were real intense. Somewhat of a let down, but I should know by now that this show makes its very complicated week after week for the characters and should've expected that. Kim is simply a scared dumb blonde. From IMDb:
Fox's drama 24 is likely to be renewed for a second season but will undergo a format change, the New York Daily News reported today (Tuesday). Although the show received considerable critical acclaim for its unique format in which the protagonist, played by Kiefer Sutherland, is followed for 24 hours in 24 separate episodes, that format may have put off some viewers, Co-Executive Producer Joel Surnow told the newspaper. "We all love the format, but there are problems with it," Surnow said. "It asks a lot of the viewer. It asks them to tune in every week to follow a story. And that is not typically what research says are the viewing habits of the American public." As a result, each episode next season is likely to have a more traditional format, although it is likely to concentrate on a single day in the life of Sutherland's character.

Disapointing. But its confirmation that there will be a second season. Which is good. Hey this format was great, and they'll probably do great with this format too.

oooooooh! Pleasure overload! Pleasure overload! Great show. Lite on Jack this week but still a great show. Better than last week's terrific show!Terri has her memory back but now has some explaining which she can't do. Tony has put all those Mole theories to rest. The drug deal was great. Mason I don't know. Palmer took a step forward in being a father and perhaps a step backwards in becoming President. Dennis Hopper Next Week. Overall a fine show that has to be in the top ten. I can now come back in here to chat about it. My thoughts: I always thought Tony wasn't the mole, hell it could still be Nina. Notice how she "left" the house before it was attacked. I hate Rick, can't act worth *****, kill him now. BRING ON HOPPER! And let Palmer punch someone, he would waste anybody on that show. Tony is still the coolest guy there is.

My only prob w/ the series is HOW MANY TIMES ARE THEY GOING TO BE KIDNAPPED! Lord...

Anyway, enough on the grippin' <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

I have NO idea who the mole is. It could be any of them:

George Mason:

I doubt it's him, else he wouldn't have made the trade. Why would he make the trade if he was in on the whole thing?

Tony:

He's the most popular choice, however there's one area that may discount the possibility that he's in on it as well: when he went to the safehouse to pick them up, he saved Kim and Teri's butts. He even shot the assassin tryin' to kill the Baumers. Why would he do that if he was the mole????

Nina:

I think she is the most likely candidate-

1. She left the safehouse early b/c of spat w/ Terri about Jack's infidelity. This may have just been an excuse. After she left, all of the crap started again for the Baumers.

2. She has motive: Jack "betrayed" her leaving her for his wife.

Then again, all of this may be bull.

All that hard work for nothing. Drazens are running out of options. They've lost Kim, but of course Jack doesn't know this. They billed this show as the one where we find out who the mole is, and well it happened in the last twenty five seconds. Nina doing a good job at setting up Mason. Could there be a Nina/Terri cat fight? Nina would most likely win, but Tony and Milo could finish off Nina. Now the thing is what's Jack and Tony (her latest lover) going to think when they learn of this. Shame that Nina won't be around for next season.(Hot, so hot) Next week will be fictional television at its finest.

Speaking of next season, 24 will be back! If it wasn't coming back I would be happy. Great stand alone season. If they can continue the quality then why not? Personally I would've liked the show moved to the old X-Files timeslot, but they make a good point seeing how L&O:CI, Alias, The Sopranos and Angel will be also in the same slot so comedies fit well.

But 24 is still up against Frasier and Smallville. I will say 24 is better than those two shows, but if I don't blame anyone for not watching 24 if you're already watching these shows. But Frasier should call it quits. Hopefully Fox won't mess up with MLB Playoffs on Tuesdays and hype up the premiere.

Tuesday 9pm:
ABC - "Life with Bonnie" @9:00p
ABC - "Less Than Perfect" @9:30p
CBS - "The Guardian"
FOX - "24"
NBC - "Frasier" @9:00p
NBC - "Hidden Hills" @9:30p
UPN - To be determined
WB - "Smallville"

From Variety
Tuesdays also are expected to remain familiar, with "That '70s Show" staying at 8 p.m. and "Grounded for Life" moving from Wednesdays to Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. The critically hailed "24" returns at 9 p.m. and will stick with its current hour-at-a-time format. One idea floating around for next season has the show picking up a year later, with Sen. David Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) now in the White House and Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) enlisted on a special mission for the new president.

Fox freshens up its lineup for fall
By Josef Adalian
NEW YORK (Variety) - Fox executives are putting the finishing touches on a fall lineup featuring at least four new dramas, two fresh comedies and a sketch/variety series -- and significant changes on most nights of the week.
But as has been the trend so far this week, when the networks unveil their lineups for advertisers, Fox also will doeverything it can to maintain some semblance of stability by keeping familiar faces in anchor positions.
Returning series "Boston Public," "That '70s Show," "Cops" and "Futurama" are expected to continue to kick off Monday,
Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday nights, respectively; there's also a chance "Dark Angel" could return to Fridays at 8 p.m., where it began last fall.
As for new fare, the Fox frosh crop includes two family comedies: The "Wonder Years"/"Malcolm in the Middle" hybrid "Oliver Beene" and the Randy Quaid starrer "The Grubbs." Both will be part of a three-hour Sunday night comedy block that will kick off with "Futurama" at 7, followed by "Oliver Beene,"
"The Simpsons," "King of the Hill," "Malcolm in the Middle" and "The Grubbs."
The move takes Fox back to its early days as a network, programming comedies from 8-10 p.m., including successes such as "Married ... With Children." Indeed, Fox had comedies at 9 p.m. every year until 1996, when it moved "The X-Files" into the time slot.
Putting "Malcolm" at 9 p.m. exposes the skein to some risk: the hit comedy now will face off against everything from "Alias" and "Angel" to "The Sopranos." But Fox executives apparently felt comedies were the best way to compete against a slew of dramas on the other networks.
The new Sunday schedule also is great news for "King of the Hill," which bowed to great numbers but has been victimized over the years by constant shuffling. Nonetheless, the animated laffer still has a strong core following and critical acclaim and will only benefit from the added exposure of an 8:30 p.m. slot. A test airing in the slot produced strong Nielsens a few weeks ago.
As expected, Mondays will remain David E. Kelley night, with "Boston Public" returning for its third season at 8 p.m. and new femme lawyer series "Girls Club" replacing Kelley's canceled "Ally McBeal" at 9.
It was brilliant, and they left an open ending. When Nina said she wasn't working for the Drazens, and she had communication with whoever was going to get her to Germany, well kiddies, we could definitely explore that next season. This is some of the best stuff I've ever seen in any form (book, movie, tv), and I hope they find a way to continue it in the same format (one season = one day). And I agree, they should run the Emmys if there's any justice.

OH MY GOD!! I just watched the finale. It was amazing. Truly amazing. I'm speechless. My heart dropped when Nina lied to Jack and told him Kim was found dead. I wanted Nina dead right there! I am in awe at the ending. Wow!

And when I found out about a 2nd season, I thought "what the hell would they make it about?"....but now, I am counting the days till it airs. Nina says we haven't even found out who she really works for, what will happen with Palmer's wife, what in the hell will Jack do to revenge his wife's death? Holy ****! It's gonna be awesome.

I am SO buying this when it comes out on DVD. :D

If you haven't read the article about the three endings for the finale here you go:

Did Jack Bauer's wife, Teri, die in his arms as it appeared in the season finale of the Fox drama, "24"?
Did double-agent Nina shoot her before she tried to escape?

After having experienced "the worst day of his life," how long does counterterrorism agent Jack Bauer need to rest before he's ready to experience another lousy day of terrific television?

Those are among the questions on the minds of fans of the Fox drama after the riveting season finale a few weeks ago.

Someone who might have some answers is director Frederick King Keller, who spent three months as one of five directors working on the show.

"I feel lucky that my agent got me in there," said Keller, a Buffalo native, of his involvement with "24."

"It is one of the best experiences of my professional life. The ensemble cast was unbelievable."

Keller noted that the cast's dedication was exemplified by star Kiefer Sutherland, who plays Bauer, the head of the government's Counterterrorism Unit. One day, Sutherland came in to work to voice the other (unseen) side of a phone conversation.

"And he had only one line," said Keller. "And it was "yup.' "

After directing the 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. hours for the series, Keller was asked back to direct a few more episodes in the fall's second season.

Keller, whose TV credits include directing and producing NBC's "The Pretender," also is directing some episodes of a new NBC series, "Boomtown," and a NBC summer series that the network is heavily promoting called "She Spies."

Like everyone else involved with "24," Keller had a non-disclosure clause in his contract that prevented him from revealing any secrets before the finale aired. The producers also shot three endings to thwart any leaks.

According to Keller, the three choices were 1) Nina (Sarah Clarke), the mole who was Jack's former lover, did not shoot his wife, Teri (Leslie Hope), before she fled. Teri lived. 2) Nina shot Teri, but she lived anyway. 3) Nina shot Teri and she died in Jack's arms.

The third choice won.

Still, some fans (who may have watched too much TV) have speculated that Teri may come back from the dead miraculously next season.

"As far as we know, Teri is dead," said Keller. "And as far as I know Nina did the shooting."

Nina didn't shoot Teri on camera for a few reasons - to cut down the violence. "And it added to the suspense when you returned to the scene," said Keller.

Though Teri's death was a bit of a downer, it does add to the possibilities for next season. Fox has announced that "24" will be returning in the same format, meaning Bauer will be involved in a case that will be completed within 24 hours.

"That's part of what makes "24' unique," said Keller. It's like that old (Jean-Luc) Godard line - "The cinema is truth 24 frames per second.' When you do something in exact time, it creates tremendous tension. It is marvelous."

Fox won't say much more than the format is the same. Keller doesn't know much more than that, either.

"I think it starts a year later," is all he would say.

That makes perfect sense. It gives Bauer and his teen-age daughter Kim (Elisha Cuthbert), time to mourn. Kim could be sent away to college so she wouldn't be getting in Jack's way and drive the audience nuts for a second season. It also gives Bauer time to unravel who Nina was working for in Germany if the writers don't want to deal with that extensively.

Keller agrees that Teri's death frees up Bauer's character and prevents the show from focusing on the family again.

"One thing is clear - "24' has a tough act to follow if it is going to get ratings in its second season commensurate with its critical raves.

"It all depends on the quality of the material," said Keller. "By retaining the essential concept, I think it has an extremely good chance."

From Test Pattern. Its coming out in the UK in August and this ensures that the show won't be found in syndication. Or rerun during the summer. But its just in time before the second season starts.

Friday, June 14, 2002... Word from a top secret bunker on the FOX lot has the real-time series 24 released on DVD on September 17, 2002. This would be just in time for the second season of the show, and no doubt both the new season and the DVD of the first will be highly popular. We'll keep you up to date when information on features and price become available, and let you know as soon as the set is available for pre-order.

Luckily where I live in Canada a local station is reairing them. Last week was Hour 3, which has to be in the top three shows of the first season. When Janet and Kim are being chased in the alleys. Jack has to resuce Mason...

I just watched the last two episodes, which just aired here. And I have to say that this is the best thing ever on TV. Nothing has ever been able to keep this kind of intensity over such a long time. Every episode although it was on for an hour (actually overhere it's more like 45-50 minutes) felt like 10 minutes.

Also the ending rocked and I can't wait for the next season and this is definetly a must have DVD.

I thought the series were great, although I thought some of the episodes set during the afternoon weren´t as energetic or exciting as some of the first and last episodes. If the DVD isn´t too costy, I think I´ll buy it too.
Tony was definetely my favourite character throughout the entire series. I think he should´ve shot Nina
The ending was perhaps too reminiscent of Se7en, perhaps?

Yeah the afternoon hours weren't up the standards, but the writers only wrote the first 13 hours so once it was picked up they had to create another story arc. But what occured in the afternoon setup the evenings events.

As for Tony shooting Nina, there has been talk that bc of the look they gave each other when Jack decieded not to kill her that they were in on it together. Well they shot three (rumor is four) different endings for the show. Since the show was renewed for season two they went with the ending where Terri dies. Had it been the very last show they probably would've used one where Terri lives, a happy ending for the Bauers. -- But I believe they had that ending bc life isn't full of happy endings. Look in the newspaper. You'll probably read more about deaths and violence then about surviving and heroism in any given week.

ALL SPOILERS

FOX is saying next to nothing about what the producers of "24" have planned for the show's second season, as befits a show about anti-terrorism agents.

But there are a few moles outside the CTU that have provided a few clues to what may happen on the real-time thriller come fall.

The network has confirmed that Kiefer Sutherland will return as
zap2it.com reports about what can be expected while Ain't It Cool News has more details on season two.

CTU agent Jack Bauer and hints that several other principal characters -- Jack's daughter, Kim (Elisha Cuthbert), Sen. David Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) and CTU mole Nina Myers (Sarah Clarke) among them -- will be back as well.

We also know that the show is sticking with its real-time format. As for this season's story, FOX Entertainment president Gail Berman has said only that it's set some time after the first season ended with the death of Jack's wife, Teri (Leslie Hope).

Casting sheets sent to talent agencies provide a few clues as to the direction of the show. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the producers are seeking a younger actress to play a new love interest for Jack. The character will also have a younger sister married to a man with a shadowy background.

In addition, the show is looking for someone to play a mysterious woman who hires Kim as an au pair and a new staff member for Sen. Palmer.

http://tv.zap2it.com/news/tvnewsdaily.html?26663

From Aint-It-Cool-news:
Did David Palmer become president?
Yes.

Is Palmer president as the second season unfurls?
Yes.

Is Jack Bauer solely consumed with avenging his wife’s death?
No. Jack is busy trying to track down a terrorist-controlled nuclear device earmarked for Los Angeles. It might be able to evaporate 100 square miles of Southern California.

You’re not telling us Germans are behind this?
Mamud Rashed Faheen, a member of the Hezhollah, has been planning that day’s attack on Los Angeles for six months. Faheen is also a member of a splinter group called The Second Wave, whose training camps are based in Eastern Iraq.

Is Palmer in Los Angeles or D.C. when this nuclear crisis crops up?
He’s at Washington State’s Hood Canal Pier on a fishing trip with son Kieth. Before the first act is over, however, he’s 200 feet below ground in the war room of the government’s Northwest Regional Operations Complex.

How does the first act end?
With Palmer phoning up the Iraqi ambassador.

Does the second season also begin at midnight?
No. This one starts at 8 a.m.

Is George Mason still working at CTU?
Yes.

Is Soul-Patch Tony still working at CTU?
Yes.

Does Soul-Patch Tony shave the soul-patch out of grief for his failed relationship with Nina?
No word on this yet.

Any sign of Kim?
In the first few minutes of the first episode, we see Kim going off with her new friend Megan as Jack looks on.

Cut to the chase! Any sign of superhot nakedness-prone lesbian terrorist Mandy?
Not yet.

Any new characters?
Eric Rayburn, head of the NSA. Jenny Dodge, a Palmer aide. Jenny doesn’t trust Rayburn. Neither does Palmer.

Any other new characters?
We meet the Warner family. Successful businessman Bob and his two grown daughters, Kate and Marie. Marie will be married that evening to Reza, a Middle Eastern man who works for Bob. Reza is jealous of Marie’s ex, who is attending the wedding. Is Reza somehow connected to the terrorist scheme, or is this more more of the show’s insidious misdirection?

A Bit More 24 Intel!!
I am – Hercules!!

Hey, one of the talkbackers on Herc’s last “24” post said Jack Bauer’s fabulous blonde daughter Kim is actually a nanny now. True?
True. What the cheeky talkbacker may or may not have failed to mention is that Kim’s mercurial new boss, successful commercial director Gary Matheson, has some kind of temper! Before the end of season two’s first episode, Gary will have slapped his trophy wife silly. And even the protective Kim won’t be able to dodge a smack upside the head!

Is Kim a live-in nanny?
Yes.

Will Jack kill Gary?
This I swear! Er, I mean, who can be certain?

Herc never said whether Jack is still with Counter-Terrorism Unit.
As the episode begins, Jack is on “inactive” status. Within minutes, though, he’s back working for Uncle Sam at the behest of President Palmer. (Don’t be surprised if Bauer looks a little different the next time we see him.)

Did Soul-Patch Tony get Jack’s job?
Doesn’t look like it. But he did inherit Nina’s old desk.

With Jack, Nina, Jamey and likely even Milo gone, isn’t CTU now a big empty place?
Not so much. We will soon meet at least two dishy CTU operatives. Paula is a perky, overeager programmer. CTU vet Michelle will serve, at least temporarily, as Jack’s right hand during the big crisis.

Are Paula and Michelle traitors??
Heh. If they were, people would kinda stop watching “24.” Am I right?

Will Michelle serve as Jack's new love interest?
Zap2it.com reports that the Hollywood Reporter reports that the suspicious young Kate Warner (mentioned in Coax's last "24" post) is likely to catch Jack's eye.

Wanda over at E! Online says Sherry Palmer won’t be back next season. What the dilly?
Well, Entertainment Weekly says Sherry will be back. The relentlessly beguiling Wanda also seems to think new Palmer aide Jenny Dodge was introduced last season, though no one else seems to remember Jenny (perhaps Wanda is thinking of the vixenish Patty?). It’s all very odd.

Is everyone really sick of Herc’s obsession with nakedness-prone lesbian mass-murderer Mandy?
In no way. Most Coax readers enjoy being reminded of Mandy and her propensity for spontaneous nudity. But Herc will soon stop making mention of Mandy, hopeful that it will somehow increase his chances of seeing her cavort nakedly again.

Sarah Wynter has been tapped as the new female lead on Fox's real-time drama "24," which is returning for a second season in the fall, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Wynter will play a rich young woman who finds herself caught up in Counter Terrorism Unit agent Jack Bauer's (Kiefer Sutherland) latest mission. Her character is also groomed as a potential love interest for Bauer, who lost his wife (Leslie Hope) in the season finale.

Wynter toplined TNT's 2000 thriller Race Against Time opposite Eric Roberts and Cary Elwes. On the big screen, she recently toplined Bruce Beresford's Bride of the Wind and starred in The 6th Day opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In an exclusive Coming Soon! announcement, actress Skye McCole Bartusiak (Don't Say a Word, The Patriot) has joined the cast of Fox's television series 24, starring Kiefer Sutherland.

The nine year old Houston born actress recently completed filming the Meg Ryan movie Against the Ropes playing a young Jackie Kallen.

Coming Soon! talked to the actress earlier this evening, "I wanted to tell everyone how excited I am to be on '24', and since I go to your website almost every day, I thought it would be the perfect place to announce it first, plus it's one of the few websites my mom lets me on. I like the trailers and listening to Chuck the Movieguy's daily audio."

Skye was tight lipped about her character but assured us she will keep us up to date as filming begins this month. She also wanted us to check out her official site at www.skyemccolebartusiak.com.

Coming Soon! checked with her publicist who confirmed Skye has been signed for 4-6 episodes so far but would also not reveal anything about her character. You will just have to tune in to find out.

Great season opener! That disturbing opening scene, no commericials, the ladies sprinkled throughout the show, Jack being an ass to Mason (who I do like) and Palmer getting it done. Slow at times, but I'm betting it will payoff just like last season. The maybe could've had less blondes in the thing but other than that its good. What's the deal with that father? Kim just seems to be drawn to those types. Totally had the feel of a movie sequel at the start. Lets hope some new people started watching this so it can do better in the ratings. Its up against Frasier and Smallville and ABC's last hope of staying on the air. NYPD Blue is moved back so who knows. All shows should be commerical free.

You know the two actors married each other (Xander Berkerly and Sarah Clarke.) But anyway long ago it was said that Nina was the one who killed Jack's wife. They didn't show it so you would have to wait until Jack entered the room which was the last minute. Much better ending.

Is anyone else sick of domestic abuse sub-plots.

Well unless the producers/writers deciede to change their minds, and wouldn't Mason and Nina somehow meet up in the hallway? Security cameras, you would have to look back at the episode. And Mason doesn't seem to be the type to kill a defenseless person. Take last night's show as an example.

I think next week's preview gives the answer to that. Hopefully he won't die.

Best Moment: Jack beating the crap out of that guy.

Did anybody get dejua view from last season, when Kim was being chased? Last year when her and a wounded Janet were being chased it was an excellent episode, but this wasn't up to that standard. I was still entertained for the entire show. I still want to see what's happening.

Once more they bring us some good TV.

Best Moment: Sadly seeing CTU being blown up. This will really make things interesting for the rest of the day.

Another thing is Mason and his less than a week to live deal. Great opening with Kim running down the street. The wedding subplot is slowing building. And next week's episode looks great once more. Mason back to his old self, and Jack tells Eddie he's a federal agent.

I think Nina just sold the blueprints and codes just for some extra bucks on the side since she knew the two year anniversary would be soon and she would be outta there.

I had this dream where the abusive father's arm was stuck in this vent and he was trying to grab me so I grabbed his arm so he couldn't pull it away and started cutting his arm and hand with a small knife. I don't know why I had this dream. It was intense.

I'm thinking Nina will say, get me a pardon from Palmer and I'll tell you everything. Mason got back to his usual self, good to see. And Palmer got rid of Eric. Best show so far.

Was I right or was I right? Well the show didn't live up to my expectations since, Nina and Jack didn't speak a word but it was good TV. The best scene was with Mason interogating Nina, since the two actors met on the set and have been married since September. Don't see too many acting married couples like that.

Palmer got screwed and this Roger guy seems similar. Probably been on The X-Files. Paula is gone, probably the most notable death next to the ambassador so far this season. The wedding storyline is alright. I just wanted to hit that women getting married. "Hmmm... maybe she cares about you and doesn't want you to get hurt. Just a thought." We're slowly building.

Jack teases us by choking Nina and threatening to kill here right after Nina threatened Jack. Hard to see Nina as a cold *****, since she was only a 'bad guy for like 1 hour and 2 minutes compared to the 23 hours and 58 minutes we saw her as a loyal CTU agent.

Jarbacca
11-27-2002, 08:40 AM
i didn't know they were married in real life

anyways, i enjoyed last nights episode, the wedding story is starting to join into the main story, so thats good

but kim is becoming an idiot, why doesn't she just tell the police what happend, sure the dad blamed to tell them that she had kidnapped the girl, but she only did it to save the girl, and besides the docter said the girl had injuries, so there is proof that the dad hurt her

or why can't kim just walk away?, i think shes accident prone

Is Bob being setup? Will Jack eventually kill Nina?
Is Sherry up to something?
Will Kim become nipply next week?

I laughed at the ending with Jack's little smile. Mike returns next week, finally someone who won't screwup. That was stupid stealing his car. How did he track Kim last time? By phoning the company so they can trace it.

Lets re-use stuff from last season.

Dead body in trunk, but this time we already know who the dead body is. It does make things more interesting and having the father wanting to go to Mexico City makes more sense.

Nina removes her shirt again. On second thought they should reuse stuff more often.

And the Mason scenes were great. Another good one.

Once again proof that this is the best, most suspenseful program on tv. Should be interesting to see where they go with the possible terrorist connections of the father of the bride. And Nina's making a very strong presence. I was wondering how they would pull off having her in the plotline this season. Great job.

Its off for two weeks (DEC 24, 31)

Then returns for on the 7th. Then American Idol 2 bumps it the week after and then the State of the Union Address the next week. So only the 7th and 29th will have new 24s.

But from Feb-May it might not air new shows like for two times, so we'll get our weekly fix.

Umm... speak for yourself. I have a hard time watching Smallville due to its straying away from the comic and also the fact that I hate Superman as a character and the guy who plays him where's more makeup then his castmates combined... but I stil peak for Lana (for she is very very Hot) and Lex (as a member of the classic show that was cancelled, Zoe Duncan Jack and Jane!).

Gruesome scene with Kate's friend. If 24 really wants to make up for some questionable stuff (ie Kim's early storyline, Kate's ditzy sister) they'll have Kate bite the bullet next time. I doubt it.

Mason is starting to fall apart. 1am-2am should be interesting. I think Mason will kill himself before it gets too bad.

Nina outsmarts Jack, and Jack seems to have a way to outsmart Nina.

24 + The Shield = great Tuesday night drama watching

This is getting more and more interesting. Jack's in peril (or is he?), Kim's being taken back to L.A., Kate's in very deep trouble, Kate's father is looking to be a darker character than he seemed to be, Resa looks like the next victim, and Kate's stupid sister looks like she'll do something so foolish it'll mess up any number of options for the good guys (one stupid person can always royally screw things up).

At the end of the preview, they showed the silencer of a gun and a shot went off. Could be for one of the two !!!

I would've liked to have seen Kate go, but I like what they did last night. 24 has always been like that, but I still can't catch on 'cause they do it so well. We know who this year's Nina is.

And like last season it was someone was trying to kill Palmer bc he's black and they kidnapped Jack's family to stop him. No! All it was revenge.

This season a bomb will go of in LA. Now we've got the NSA trying to make sure the bomb goes off. Jack and Nina working together.

Only one low point last night. Kim escaping. I can only imagine what trouble Kim gets into now. Coyotes or some guy who lives in the woods.

The thing is the season isn't half way done. But after the two weeks it should be smooth sailing. 15 more shows! So getting the Season Two DVD.

Mason is starting to fall apart. 1am-2am should be interesting. I think Mason will kill himself before it gets too bad.

Nina outsmarts Jack, and Jack seems to have a way to outsmart Nina.

24 + The Shield = great Tuesday night drama watching

That was pretty gruesome I agree. In all honesty though, the week before I was almost relieved when they shot him instead of torturing him more. (By the way, was it something to do with a power sander, that's what it looked like to me.) I love this show, but the torture scenes just literally make me nauseated. I can handle people dying, but not that.

24 rocks.

Kate's ditzy sister really surprised me... I so wanted Pop Warner to be the terrorist.

I feel really bad for Mason now, which is shocking since I thought he framed Nina for killing Terri. ;) I definitely see him performing some kind of act of redemption before he dies in the last few episodes.

24 goes home empty handed. The Shield took best Drama. The 1 st season of The Shield vs The 2nd Season of 24..... 24 was better. But whatever. I like both shows and will continue to watch. Atleast West Wing didn't win. And Larry David finally wins. Again.

It's a small price to pay. They aired 8 new shows in a row, then holidays, then 2 new ones, then only one week due to American Idol 2 and this week State of the Union. Last season they aired 12 weeks in a row. What other network show does that? Stop whinning read a book.

State of the Union? Ahh... crap! At least a new Angel on Tues... I say show the show straight in a row... then with the weeks free you can show another show in that timeslot...

Are you sure the WB won't carry the State of the Union address?
American Idol 2 was Fox's most watched non-sports show ever. Why did Fox make 24? $$$ and possible awards to brag about. They have to stretch all 24 episodes from late October to mid May.

Lets see if 24 gained any viewers from AI2....

I have to say worth the wait. No real progress in story, cept for the traitors in the show. The flame scene was something else. Elisha was actually bitten by that cat or lion whatever you want to call it.

You mean she was bitten during the shooting of those scenes or in the show but they just didn't show it on TV ???

I have to agree, it was worth the wait... I can't wait for president Palmer to find out what Sherry's cooking !!!

She was at some awards show thing with the bandages on and she said she was bit. I'm thinking accident.
