View Full Version : Narnia 2 Disc DVD This April!

Dont know if this has been reported or not.
Is Disney pulling a Warner Brothers on The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe? If the latest rumors we're hearing are true, then the answer is yes. Supporting the rumblings we recently passed on, it sounds like the PG-rated fantasy blockbuster (which is again atop the box office after 3½ weeks in theaters) is destined for three DVD versions in early April: standard and similar widescreen and fullscreen editions, plus a deluxe set released concurrently. Those drooling at the prospect of countless discs immersing them into C.S. Lewis's world from all angles may have to adjust their hopes a bit. The word is that the "deluxe" edition will really be called a "Special Two-Disc Collector's Edition." That disc count might be underwhelming for something that would inevitably carry a retail price slightly above the studio's normal $29.99 tag, but if the neat packaging we've uncovered is any indication, then perhaps this won't be your ordinary 2-disc set.

Well at least it's all coming out at the same time and not six months apart *cough*Fox*cough*. Good news indeed.

Yeah, I hate it when they release the normal edition first, and you buy that, and then they release a collector's edition...and you think "Oh, damn!!!".

I just hope that when the other movies come to DVD that they'll share a similar look to LWW spine wise.

^^^ No joke, they better look good on my shelf next to the matching Star Wars and Lord of the Rings sets!
Cool, but I really miss the days when the DVD was only avaliable in 2 discs and you didn't have to pay extra for itThat's a really good point. Hollywood seems bent on making us pay more and more for the outtakes and home videos that they call "Making Ofs" and "Documentaries". Meh, what choice do we have. S'pose I'll have to pay up anyways - considering there is NO way that I am missing out on it. And how cool is that cover?

^But it looks cool...I prefer plain, sorta leather looking covers (like the LOTR EE's) to the movie posters.

they are not making anymore of this story....besides this was book 2 and soo they would have to make book 1 first

Must we go over this again? Look buddy. The Magician's Nephew is Book 1 chronologically alright. In publication order LWW was first followed by Caspian, followed by Dawn Treader, The Silver Chair, Horse and his Boy, THE MAGICIAN'S NEPHEW and THEN last but not least The Last Battle.
Don't make me repeat myself again. :nono:

And there are strong hints (I'm not sure if it has been confirmed yet) that they are making more of the Chronicles. But you should check here (http://www.comingsoon.net/forums/showthread.php?t=41990) before any argument gets started here too.
I am up for the simple, pretty leather-like covers too. I'm kinda over that poster by now and the elegant simplicity of the red one suits my tastes. I bet I get it before you do tho, Cate :P.

well the red one is all right...as long as it actually is leather (wat are the chances of that...its disney for christ sakes...)
well i read somewhere that it's "official", ah watever...i jsut want Andrew back...and if they film here again i will find them!! i cant beleive they were shooting in auckland...i never even noticed!!!
Yeah the studio was out at the Hobsonville Airbase Tiamat. I delivered some bread there a few times. Chances are I'll deliver there again during filming of Caspian.
I noticed on the credits that a certain caterer was listed. I didn't actually notice whether Quality Bakers was on there. Because it would have been myself and my father that were delivering there. Our names wouldn't be listed in the credits but still it'd be cool that QB be mentioned. :)

:o!! you saw them!!! AAHHHHHHH!!! omg and Charlize Theron was here!! in the city!!
I never saw any actors. I was delivering at night. And as for Charlize Theron who was here with Niki Caro last Friday for the North Country premiere. Well I'm gutted that I missed that. :( It would have been a dream to see Charlize in the flesh.

Heh heh, this started out a Narnia thread...
Precious - you wanna bet on that dvd? *does tough-chick stance* *promptly falls over*
And it still is... ;)
What are the chances that when the DVD's come out that they'll hopefully number them in the chronological order. It would make the collection look cooler. Sure we'd get LWW first with a number 2. It may confuse a lotta people but quite frankly I wouldn't really care. :)

You people are so lucky! I still have to wait 7 days!!! ARGHH!
Just got mine a few hours ago. I'm sooo pleased. Walked into Borders and the guy who was serving me told me that not many people were buying the 2 Disc Version where more people out there got the 1 Disc version. Losers. :D

Lol...why would you wanna get a 1 disc version when there is a COLLECTOR'S EDITION out there!!!
4 more days for me...:(
Yeah well the problem is the majority of the average viewing public know nothing about special collector's editions, etc. Just like all these losers buying LOTR not knowing anything about the Extended Editions. Even the Star Wars Trilogy Special Editions. They knew nothing about that until I told them. I used to serve so many morons during my years as a lowly video clerk. ;)

Lol. But I guess if you're not a true fan, and you just want to see the movie, well then you'd probably buy the normal edition.
And, breaking news:
I'VE GOT IT!!!! *does crazy dance around room* YAY!!!
THE COLLECTOR'S EDITION ROCKS!!!
