The Frighteners Before Peter Jackson was a bajillionaire master of hobbits, elves, dwarves and giant mythic apes, he directed a great little horror/comedy/thriller called THE FRIGHTENERS. In it, Michael J. Fox starred as a psychic detective who uses his ghost friends to con people into thinking they have a paranormal problem. When a real baddie in the form of a quite awesome Jake Busey comes around, though, Fox has to start doing some real detective work. The folks over at Can Magazine recently learned from a scooper that Jackson may be up for a sequel. Here's what the scooper said:
Just watching ET Tonight and they mentioned a new special edition DVD Release of one of his older films, “The Frighteners”. Had Peter Jackson talking about it…According to Jackson, he’s hoping the DVD sells “in droves” because he’d love to do a sequel. He said that DVD sales are really what it’s all about these days – and if this new version makes a hefty sum on DVD, he’ll try and convince Universal to take a chance on another “Frighteners”. He said he’d love to have Michael J.Fox back – if even only for a small role.
I gotta say, that'd be kinda awesome if he did a sequel. What do you guys think? Read the rest of the report over HERE (http://www.canmag.com/news/4/3/2661). Thanks to Trevor for the heads up.
