View Full Version : Amazon.Com's reccomendations going downhill

I used to really like Amazon.com's "Your Store" feature. Telling it what I own, what I want and don't want, and rating what I see was great, and after a while I could go there in get a good idea for what stuff was out or coming out that I hadn't thought of, but that I was usually interested in.

Today, I was digging through it, and it was really off the wall. It has the strangest things lined up, and, well....by the time I got to the 60s....well, just take a look at what it recommended -- and look below them to see WHY Amazon thought to recommend them:

okay, they reccomended you a sitcom cuz you bought star wars, and a porno, cuz u watched some show-off do a horrible rendition of a roman.......... odd, to say the least

lol, I hear ya! they do the same thing to me.... but it does not really matter I dont care if they are recomending cheap porn to me or not, its not going to ruin my life or anything.... but the whole thing with GLADIATOR being compare to a cheap porno is crazy and "Sienfeld" is a best sellar just like Star Wars Triolgy so that makes sense.

They recommended the porno because it has the same name. It's because computers can't think for themselves. The matches are only as good as the programming behind them. As for Seinfeld, he probably talks about Star Wars in one of the episodes or one of the episodes was named Star Wars.
