anybody else use a rental service?
Ive been using GameFly for a while now cause it's so convenient for me, but wanted to see what other people were doing....Late fees were just hitting me too often...which do you think is the best online rental spot?

I work at Blockbuster so I get free rentals, but if you rent alot of games then go with online. Either that or get the gamepass cause $8 a rental is way too much if you rent alot. Also, you don't have to worry about late fees anymore, they are gone (and if anyone wants to say that they aren't then just shut up now cause trust me, they are), but the price is still crazy, so overall I would stick with online renting. As for which online service I have no idea, but gamefly seems to be the best in most people's opinion so that would be my choice.

I have a Hollywood Video and Blockbuster not too far from my house, however, I go to HV because they have a great video deal per month...For like...$15 you can rent as many videos as you want. I rent

Gamefly is definitely your best online option. You could try do a two free trial with gamechoice to try an alternative, but Gamefly has a better service and its easier to use.

Agreed. That's what I use, and it's fantastic. My only real complaint though, is that there is always a "short wait" on new titles.

Currently I'm doing Blockbuster's movie online service, three films out at a time. That gives you two in-store rentals a month as an addition, and I just use those for games. That doesn't seem like a drastic deal for a hardcore console gamer, but I suppose I'm not. I've only owned something like eleven games over the three current-gen consoles, but I suppose that's because I find most games arn't worth paying 50 dollars for when you can rent them and get the fun from them in just a week or two until I've completed them.

Dude, you bought one, AWESOME lol. I can't sell those things worth a crap, but I still sell them better than most people at my store. They actually are a good deal, I just wish it worked for games as well. I actually would buy one of those if I didn't already get free rentals ;)

The blockbuster here sucks, they never have anything there. I might try online rental.

Yeah... I'm a little ticked by Blockbuster at the moment though. Because back when they only released something like 100,000 gold cards, I was one of those that got it since I rented movies so much (this was before online services and rental passes). Since, I think they've released a lot more of them, but after BB came out with movie passes, I got one of those at my local store. Because of this, apparently I wasn't "spending enough money", and they revoked my gold card privilages (renting one on the outside, getting one on the inside free). I guess it's only earned if you keep a constant flow of cash going their way, and the two 15 dollar a month movie passes wasn't cutting it (one for myself, and one for my mates on the same card). Talk about BS. :nono:
Considering how much cheaper it is just to go with a movie pass or online service, you'd think they'd make their gold card owner's privileges more luxurious. Because whatever douche bag is still spending enough money to have one of those cards and doesn't realise how much less it is just to pay a monthly fee, and the bonuses for having the card are so minuscule?... Bah. =P

Yeah, stock is usually the main issue. Not a lot of stores have enough of a title to rent for everyone to get their hands on a copy before they're all gone. Especially when Blockbuster sometime's will only release one or two copies of a title, even when they're a new release, making it all more difficult to grab.

I never rent games. I always just buy the ones I want because there arent that many I want to play anymore. I would say go online because of the price and the fact that it has more of a selection

yeah, i used to feel that way until i tried out gamefly and renting online. just going to the site and setting up your que, you see all the games at your disposal. and then instead of never playing that random Tennis game cause i wouldnt want to risk $50 on it, i try it out for a bit....

The fact that there arn't that many games I want to play anymore is precisely the reason why I don't own many games and try to rent them if I can help them. I'd rather not risk 50 bucks on a game that might not last for more than a week or two.

i think for sports games it's especially good, because you dont waste money every year buying the new version....GameFly rox.
