September 05, 2005

Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume 2 Coming to DVD ]Jedi heroes Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi continue their valiant fight to stop the evil Separatists led by General Grievous in the Emmy Award-winning and critically acclaimed Star Wars: Clone Wars series. The animated adventures that appeared on Cartoon Network and starwars.com Hyperspace will be complete on DVD on December 6, 2005 with the release of Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume 2.

All five 12-minute chapters of Volume 2 are included in this release, chronicling Anakin's rise to Jedi Knight as well as General Grievous' daring attack against the Republic capital, leading directly into the events of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. See Grievous cut through Jedi warriors as he kidnaps the Chancellor, Mace Windu and Yoda fighting side-by-side to defend Coruscant, and Skywalker's shocking vision of the future.

Directed by Genndy Tartakovsky with Art Direction by Paul Rudish, the Clone Wars series are a fresh, stylized take on Star Wars. Each chapter features exclusive audio commentary by Tartakovsky and his team of artists. Also included as bonus material is a brand new featurette, "Connecting the Dots," that takes audiences inside the creative process and shows how the series connects to Episode III. There are also two full galleries of animation concept art, storyboards, and sketches, as well as trailers for upcoming LucasArts video games, Star Wars: Empire at War and Star Wars Battlefront II, which also includes an Xbox playable demo of two entire levels from Battlefront II.

I currently have all the episodes downloaded, but if they release a two pack with all of them I'll most likely pick it up.

Why release this a month after ROTS comes out on DVD? I'll still buy this, but I think it should come out in October instead.

I'll get this once I have the original series too. I liked it alot, though I thought Anakin's little mission with the tribal people was a bit sort of off topic compared to the important events going on on Coruscant. Though the vision was cool. As was the way it led straight into the opening scene of EpIII.

I loved the series but I think I'm going to wait until they combine the whole series into one DVD(prefferably like they combined Volume One into one film).

Can't wait that long gotta have it now! I agree that they should have released it at the same time as Episode III.

That's good, because we were all so baffled by how it connects to Episode 3.

No:

Chapter 21

Picking up where Volume I left off, this episode begins on the battle-scarred world of Hypori, in the wreckage of a crashed Republic starship. Inside, General Grievous continues to cut through a team of trapped Jedi warriors. It's up to a crack unit of heavily armed ARC troopers to come to the rescue.

Chapter 22

Anakin Skywalker is now a Jedi Knight, and his effective teamwork with Obi-Wan Kenobi has earned them reputations as unparalleled heroes in the Republic. Throughout extended campaigns in the Outer Rim Sieges, they managed to turn the tide and defy the odds. But the Separatist forces are spreading everywhere, and hunting down General Grievous becomes the gravest concern. To this end, Skywalker and Kenobi venture to Nelvaan, a strange planet where Grievous was supposedly spotted.

Chapter 23

The battle for Coruscant has begun! An immense fleet of Separatist ships invades the Republic capital, and the streets of Coruscant overflow with battle droid forces. Jedi Masters Mace Windu, Yoda and Saesee Tiin lead the charge to defend the city planet. Meanwhile, on Nelvaan, Anakin Skywalker starts to undergo an ancient ritual as challenging as any Jedi trial...

Chapter 24

General Grievous and his relentless MagnaGuards have pierced the heart of the Republic to kidnap the beloved Chancellor Palpatine. Shaak Ti leads the Jedi in defending the Chancellor from this unstoppable threat. Meanwhile, deep below the surface of Nelvaan, Anakin experiences a disturbing glimpse into his future as well as discovers an evil Separatist plot.

Chapter 25

Anakin Skywalker has discovered the terrible secret beneath Nelvaan -- a Confederacy laboratory that is transforming the noble Nelvaanian warriors into hideous monsters. On Coruscant, the Jedi try to secure Chancellor Palpatine in the deepest of protected bunkers, but is anywhere safe from General Grievous?

This final installment of Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume II takes viewers right to the start of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.

Yeah, same here. Hopefully it won't take too long for them to release the whole series into one DVD.
