If you havent read the article on the fron page, which includes infor about Charlie and the Choclate Factory, and some other Burton/Depp stuff then you definately should, beacuse at the end of the article it states that Jerry Bruckheimer is making an adaptation pf the Prince of Persia video game to the silver screen.

In the meantime, August is working with Jerry Bruckheimer's company to produce a big screen adaptation of the popular video game Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which will be written by the game's creator Jordan Mechner. "It's the first project I've been on board which I haven't written," he said. "It's going to be one of those insanely expensive Pirates of the Caribbean scale movies."

I am a huge fan of the video game series, and have been waiting for this to become a film. But of course we still have that trend that always inhabits video games which become movies, and that is they suck!!! I defiantley hope they can get a good director and a good actor to play yhe prince, and if they stick to the storyline, then it should do okay. But they must stick to the story. I dont want any sheap hollywood crap, but alas, we will probably get some of that.

Jerry Bruckheimer Films is eyeing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time for feature development at Walt Disney Pictures. A script for the adaptation is being written by the game's creator Jordan Mechner. John August is supervising script development and serving as executive producer on the film. The original Prince of Persia game was released roughly 15 years ago and Ubisoft's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, the 3D sequel, is a multi-platform smash. The game is set in medieval Persia, Earth's mightiest and most mysterious kingdom, where a king and his son defeat the powerful Maharajah and kidnap his daughter, looting his palace of priceless treasure, including an extravagant hourglass, and a mysterious dagger. What the Prince does not realize, is that these two objects can turn their possessor into an immortal god, and give him control over time itself. Tricked by a dying Vizier bent on harnessing this terrible magic for himself, the Prince releases the sands of time, destroying a kingdom and turning its populace into ferocious demons. Only the Prince, the Vizier, and Princess Farah, the kidnapped daughter of the Maharajah, remain unchanged. Now, it is up to the young Prince of Persia to call upon every resource and ounce of courage he possesses to save his kingdom and redeem his fatal mistake. Creator Mechner says that he sees the Bruckheimer-produced Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl as a touchstone for the adaptation. "Rather than do a straight beat-for-beat adaptation of the new videogame," he says, "we're taking some cool elements from the game and using them to craft a new story – much as Pirates did with the theme park ride."

Yeah I heard about this happening a couple months ago. If you check on IGN.com there is alot of games that coming out to theaters sometime in the future. I really hope this movie will make it big cause it is a really awesome.

But in the meantime who do you think would be a good prince?

true, true. But the story in the game is incredible. I think sticking to it would make an amazing film. I can just see the battle at the beginning being fantastic. I hope its at least has the sands of time in the story, something along the smae line as the original plot is all I can hope for.

I love those games too, and I think that it will make for a good movie. I don't think that they will screw it up, its just got such an awsome storyline already. I don't know who I would select to play the Prince though.

Hehe, not to mock you down or anything, but be serious hehe. The story in the game isnt mindblowing in any way hehe.

A prince

A princess

An evil man

A curse

Prince has to save princess

Prince fights cursed men

Some kissing here and there

Prince unlocks sands of time

wooo.... hehe. Dont get me wrong, the game is awsome. But there isnt any mindblowing about the story. Its just told in a cool way. (meens in an action way)

A never said mindblowing, but incredible. Sure it has all that regular stuff but the way its played out in the game is what incredible.

For some reason I think they will try and get Orlando Bloom to play the prince. I dont know how I would feel about that: eternal hatred or just aggrivation.

Bale wouldnt be that bad, and either would bloom, but they would have to get a great director if Bloom was to be prince.

I actually liked Bloom alot in Kingdom of Heaven. I think when given the right direction, he can act decent.

Would he fit for the prince? hmm...not sure. Dont think so.
i dont think Bale would fit either.

Bloom was good in Kingdom of Heaven beacuse of Ridley Scott.

Bale or Bloom, I cant think of anyone else who could play the Prince right now.

Yeah. Ridley Scott knows his stuff. Thats for sure. The problem is you will need a director just as good if you have bloom here as well. And thats hard to get ;)

Bloom would have to work out ALOT though for this.

Hmm, it was a good game. Hopefully, it'll be a good movie too. It's probably going to be a lot like Pirates of the Carribean. Not really anything mind-blowing or though-provoking, but extremely stylish, tasteful, and entertaining, with amazing special effects, and lots of humor and action. The perfect summer blockbuster popcorn movie. And not the Michael Bay kind of summer blockbuster popcorn movies, mind you. The kind that are actually worth a d*mn...
