Finally there is word on the sequel to the remake of The Italian Job. Yet sadly there is still no confirmation on the return of the cast's most important members, the three MINI Coopers. From this posting on Dark Horizons it looks as though Paramount may actually be considering blasphemy by courting other car manufactures to provide the film's cars. Is anyone else here interested in setting up a petition?

"Director David Twohy ("Pitch Black", "Below", "The Arrival") has set up a trio of writing assignments, one of which will turn his original heist pic premise into "The Brazilian Job," the sequel to Paramount hit remake "The Italian Job" reports Variety."

"Paramount is expecting the entire original cast to head to Rio de Janeiro for the sequel, and the studio is already being courted by automakers eager to exploit the resurgence that the original pic created for the Mini Cooper. F. Gary Gray will return to direct."

Variety is reporting that screenwriter David Twohy has been tapped to scribble out the screenplays for a couple of films over at Paramount Pictures including the sequel to the hit 2003 heist flick The Italian Job.

The sequel is currently set to be titled The Brazilian Job and Twohy tells Variety his duties on that came up on accident as he says, "I came in to pitch my own heist picture called The Wrecking Crew, something I planned to direct myself," but he ended up with scribe duties on the sequel only as F. Gary Gray is expected to return along with the entire original cast. Production is expected to head to Rio de Janeiro for the sequel, and the studio is already being courted by automakers eager to exploit the resurgence that the original pic created for the MiniMini Cooper.

Of cource it isnt. Is any movie?

If its fun, enjoy it. If its not, sleep well and be mad you spend your money.

Anyway, i thought the first one was ok, which probably will bring this one out ok as well.

The title sounds like something Frizzo on a porn bender would come up with.

Haha, the title's great. Could they have picked anywhere funnier to do a 'job'?

Anyway, I don't see the point of a sequel. Also, not using the minis.. what's the point of it even being in the same serious. Blasphemy.

So where's this one gonna be set, New York? The remake Italian Job wasn't in Itally. Sure Itally had a samll cameo, if that's possable for a location.

I don't see the point either. The Italian Job was a remake. It's kind of silly that they're doing a sequel. Ocean's 12 was kind of the same way, honestly. Making sequels to classics is really weird to me, just because their remake made money.

What else could it have been?

The Parisian Job?
The Australian Job?
The American Job?
The Canadian Job?
The Mexican Job?
The Peruvian Job?

Hmmm. I digress.........

The Brittish Job. The Italian Job was a Brittish movie to start with, they could have brought it home.
