You know, i was just sitting here thinking about the whole story of Darth Plageus and how he supposedly could use the force to create life. Now in episode 1 Anakin is like nine years old, okay, and palpatine has a young apprentice, darth mual. Okay so lets just say for the sake of argument that Darth Mual has been Palpatine apprentice for 6 years. And from watching episode three we learn that Darth Plageus was infact Palpatine's master. Now lets also say for the sake of argument that Palpatine Killed Darth Plageus 7 years before the events of episode 1. Now, what if, and this is a crazy what if, but what if Darth Plageus used his ability to creat life, and somehow created Anakin!!! :omg: That could answer why he has no father! just a thought.

i thought this was what he meant anyway!

I assumed that was the reason he said all that

Thats what I was thinking too.....but then you gotta wonder.....why Shmi? and how the hell would he have done it? That would be crazy, if it actually turned out that Darth Vader was conceived by the dark lord of the sith haha

You know I never thought she was implying it was a virgin birth - just that there was never a father around.

no, she specifically said "there was no father"

Yeah, but that can easily be translated to what Tedward said. If your mother told me that "there was no father" in your life, I'd assume that he just wasn't around, not that your mother was a virgin birth.

Frankly I think Lucas writes this stuff out of his ass as he goes, ever since the OT. So I doubt he was honestly thinking the midi's created Anakin at that time.

Although it would of been a nice thought that Darth Maul was on Tatooine just to check up on Anakin or maybe even to take him under his arms back to Sidious now that he's at a ripe age. Rather than simply being there because he was following the Jedi.

Except you have have to take into account that she says, "I can't explain what happened... I carried him, I gave birth..." Definitely sounds like she was talking about a virgin birth. Unless she meant she got so drunk one night at Mos Eisley Cantina, and she "can't explain what happened."

O_o

I'm learning so much that it's making all the preconcieved notions I've ever heard turn into mush.

I don't think George meant for Anakin to have been conceived by Plagueis in the story, but it does make sense. I'm not going to believe it though until its confirmed...if it ever is

I thought this is what he meant all along, that either he or Plageous conceived Anakin

When Darth Maul is on Tatooine, he has a small floating robot that identifies
Qui-Gon and Anakin. It then gos back to Maul and says 'the boy, the boy' or something like that. wouldn't that imply that the sith knew about Anakin, and were already aware of anakins future powers? The theory that he was created makes sense to me. since everything seemed to be planned by sideous, it seems like Anakin could have been part of the larger plot well before he was discoved by the Jedi.

Thats what I was thinking too.....but then you gotta wonder.....why Shmi?

Because she was a slave and could be sent to Tatooine where Anakin wouldn't be identitifed by the Jedi.

No I don't think it's "the boy the boy".. it's just droid talk.. Though I guess this could have some truth in it as Maul doesn't even make an attempt to cut down Anakin, he could have easily swiped him down as he rode past and being a Sith you'd expect him to do so........ or maybe he just wasn't bothered.

Yeah this makes the most sense. Plus why would Shmi have to know about it? He could have just like waved his hand at her while her back was turned and viola.

It's not like creating a person using the force has any strings attached....

Well, it should have strings attached. The way I see it, that bastard owed Shmi a buttload of child support. ;)
