Anyone here reading this monthy series by Max? Its grusomely nice, its written by Garth Ennis(the author behind the wickedly grim Preacher) and it showcases the punisher as the most realistic and unforgiving vigilant depicted since; righting the wrongs in the most extreme ways imaginable. Its nothing entirely new though, but its certainly entertaining. Currently its in a 6 part series titled "Up is down and Black is white", which is in its third issue.
The one before that had a pretty good back story on Nick Cavella, a returning villian from the first arc of the run, "In the Beginning". Normally a issue that doesn't even feature the main character wouldn't rank as one of my favorites, but this one is problably my favorite issue so far.
Another good arc, problably the best in the series so far, was "Mother Russia". What Ennis is insinuating here about America is problably the most controversial thing he's done on the series, especially in light of the post 911 world we now live in, its problably his most daring...problably suffered heaps of hate mail as a result, I would imagine.
