I've noticed that everyone knows there was a King Kong movie, but actually not many folks seen it, they have heard it referenced so many times in pop culture and other films they feel they watched the movie already.I'm also intriqued that people who claim they've watched the original are surprised that there are going to be dinos on Skull Island.

Is the Kong story relevant today? And are people ready for it?

What da ya think?

I think people will go see it when they know it's Peter Jackson doing the work in it. I know some people who are interested in seeing it just because Jackson directing it

I think people will go see it as well. I certainly I'm curious to see what Jackson has up his sleeve.

I'm a big King Kong fan. I've seen the original many times, and I love it. I'll most likely check the new one out, but honestly, no matter how it turns out, it'll never replace the original in my heart.

I love the original film, it is a classic. People do love it and watch it as tradition. Many also know who PJ is. So with KK being remade by the director of LOTRs, many, many will go see it. It does have a chance for me to replace the original.

What does moder mean?

I have seen the original King Kong and think it's great but feel this one could outdo it

I hope this movie breaks the trend of movies like rockateer and sky captain which all had the old film kinda feel, both were good, but both failed at the box office. I would put king kong in the same boat because of the time it takes place. I don't get why people don't want to see these movies, but thats just me. PJ should help its case.

To me Sky Captain was so unnapealing i never saw it. The look came off very bad.

it was actually really good, or just what I thought of it. Thats what I'm afraid will happen with kong. probably not, just because of pj.

Any comparisons with Sky Captain are ludicrous, this film will crap all over that.

ok...I was just comparing the styles, but ok
and or coarse it will, King Kong is like 40 times the size of Jude Law, any fieces from that ape would be deadly;)

I think they're definatly going to pull the "From the Director of Lord of the Rings" crap on this promotion.

Of course, it will draw people in.

Since we're on the subject of comparing Kong to 1930's serial films like the Rocketeer or Sky Captain, why no9t also compare it to another 1930's serial film....Raiders of the Lost Ark.

True, raziel, but that was made a while ago, came out 1981, while rocketeer and sky captain were more recent, 1991 and 2004 respectfully. Another example would be the iron giant, and although you can attribute that to bad planning on warner bro. part it did badly at the theaters as well. I don't think dick tracy did that well either. It just seems that kind of movie is drawing much of an audience these days. But that would be cool if it pulled a raiders and was huge, here's hoping.

I suppose "From the director of Braindead" woud be better. ;)
