Okay so I know that Saw has been discussed like hell on here and I couldn't find another topic so I thought I'd make a new one. I just finished the movie and I'm sort of confused to all of it. *NOTE MAJOR SPOILES AS I WILL BE TRYING TO BE CLARIFIED ON THE ENDING*
So here's how I take it. Dr. Gordon was being spied on by Adam who was being paid by Tap in order to get a lead on the link between Dr. Gordon and the Jigsaw case. But we find out that it's Zep (kind of wish he wasn't just thrown in there though maybe showed some more of him so he wouldn't have come so right out of the blue) and that he too had a tape for him from Jigsaw to kill Dr. Gordon's family so that he could be cured. I'm pretty sure i got that part. Now onto the tricky parts. Why exactly where Dr. Gordon, Adam, and Zep targeted? What in hells name was that pig thing!? And my biggest one: Was that supposedly dead man in the middle Jigsaw this whole time? If so is he even human? He freaking pulled off his own skin and left Adam to die!! And that WAS Jigsaw who killed Tap's partner right, not Zep? My mind is racing right now and learning what the ending is will help my influence on the film (not as great as I thought it would be). Thanks.

I'm really simplifing things, but I'm tired.
Dr. Gordon was targeted because he was unhappy with his life even though he really had nothing to be unhappy about. He has a nice family, a good job, etc.
Adam was targeted because all he was doing was watching people live their lives and not live his own. He wanted him to appreciate life
As far as Zap goes, I don't think it was ever explained.
I'm guessing the pig symbolizes lust, greed, etc. Everything that Jigsaw doesn't think people should be worshipping.
Yeah it was Jigsaw. He probably used some prosthetic for the skin effect, and used some drug to partially sedate him so he wouldn't move. But was still conscious.
Yeah he's human. He's the hospital patient from the beginning of the movie.
Yeah it was jigsaw. He had set up a trap and his partner walked right into it.

Okay didn't see your post thanks. And now I remember that it was the guy from the hospital!! For some odd reason I kept thinking it was that one guy who got burnt. Saw 2 is already coming out this year (maybe a little rushed though...meh) and I'll be looking forward to that to see some plot holes uncovered. Overall I liked Saw. One thing I notice was the acting everyone was talking about. People always complained about acting in some movies, but I never noticed it too bad. But in this movie, oh god Dr. Gordon showing emotions was as bad as Neo crying in Matrix Revolutions. It was a good film though and finally a twist ending in the last few years that actually WORKS. (Recent attempts I saw trying to make twist endings were White Noise and The Forgotten both of which had awful endings and were awful films as well).

Yeah the acting is terrible. It's incredibly noticable too. I didn't like this at all, I thought it was just a fourth rate Se7en.

It was...ehh...oddly satisfying, though, as others have said numerous times, the acting is horrible. Danny Glover's character annoyed me, I didn't really see him as an important part to the story.

I really didn't like this movie. Too predictable.
