I know Mirko was messing around with the boards due to the loss of the Comic Book Adaptions section but now everything in the past 10 hours has gone

Dont know if anyone else saw this but, pause the trailer when the lava is coming down on the platform....... before it hits you can see a figure standing there, holding a injured arm.......anyone else see this or am i seeing things :D

Are you talking about the scene at 2:12? If so, I don't really see anything. I see a white figure way in the back, but, that looks kind of like a clone trooper (which, is sort of odd actually).

Thanks. Expect it to change frequently in the next couple of days. ;)

your avatar was the best part of the whole trailer, in my opinion. The way Palpatine says "are you threatening me master jedi?" is amazing, you can feel all the suppressed sith rage in him about to explode....and it does!

Tornado
03-11-2005, 06:10 PM
Yeah. But, I want to find the perfect avatar. It'll probably wind up being Anakin leading the clones.

That would be awesome too! you should just make a whole bunch and rotate through them on a regular basis.

Tornado
03-11-2005, 06:24 PM
That's what I'll be doing. I've got five or six of them right now.

You're seeing things, it is a suspension cable connector for the platform.

Yeah.... there's nothing there. First Lucas will have something better than a wall of lava falling on him, second, that wall of lava coming down on someone like that surely would kill them instantly.... but then again its star wars.

Sparta*
03-11-2005, 07:59 PM
Yeah...I wonder how there gonig to pull that off.....how can Anakin realistically get into a mix up with Lava and survive? Theres no way hes actually going to fall into lava because then he woudl be dead...even in the SW universe thats impossible. Maybe Obi-wan will find some way to splash some on him or something...

Tornado
03-11-2005, 08:04 PM
I think he'll fall in. I mean, its Star Wars. Maybe he'll be saved because he has a "tremendous attachment to the force" or something. It doesn't have to be completely logical.

Sparta*
03-11-2005, 08:07 PM
haha well they do use the force excuse for pretty much ever physcially impossible thing in the movies already, so I guess this would be no different haha If he does fall completley in the Lava I will have to give my head a shake...but it won't ruin the movie for me.

Tornado
03-11-2005, 08:12 PM
I can really only think of a few ways this movie could be ruined for me:

a) The acting. But, it doesn't look too bad from the trailer. As long as it is as good as Episode II's, I won't mind.
b) General Grievous. Sure, he's cool and he's got four arms and whatnot, but, it could be really ridiculous.
c) Knowing that nearly 90% of the film (probably not, just a guess) is CGI. It's just a personal thing, I'm not a huge fan of the CGI over-do. But, as long as its good and doesn't affect the plot, I guess I won't really care.

I agree with you on all those points tornado.

1. Hayden seems to be acting exactly like he did in episode 2, at least thats what I could tell from his first line in the trailer.

2. I was thinking this same thing myself.....4 arms is a little OTT and i hope it doesn't look stupid. 4 lightsabers waving around is not only unrealistic, but also kind of unplausible. 2 would have been better. It just seems that with the PT's GL is trying to keep on upping the lightsabers.

3. I am not a huge fan of CGI either....but I don't think this one will look as much like a video game as episode 2 did.

What trailer were you watching? :D

At least GG won't be in the movie for that long, won't have that much screen time overall. So it will be reduced.

Well there's no point in complaining about it now. Why don't people just accept it now and get on with life.

This is a pop-corn flick at the end of the day. It's a finale to the prequel trilogy. I personally want a special/visual effects extravaganza with an awesome plot. This movie will deliver for me.

He won't die until 2/3 of the way through. He'll still have more screen time than Dooku and Maul at the end of the day.

Yes, but how often will we see him. Most likley more, but He will only be fighting in two parts.

So, we agree that his face didn't get burned by the lava (or atleast we don't know as of now)...but, does anyone have a guess as to how his face got the way it did in episode 6

I don't remember agreeing to that. His face DOES get burned by the lava.

Nimrandir

It will be absurd if he falls into and submeres the lava, the use of the force to survive cannot be used as an excuse. He is exausted and whipped out fron his fight with Obi-wan. He is so weakened he couldn't use it to that great lenght. He would die. It should be some sort of wave.

Yeah that would be great if you could make a wallpaper of that part of the trailer with just Anakin or him and the storm troopers but I fear it would be to dark to see and I am not sure how it would turn out hehe.

But if you look at the whole picture, this figure ist just part of the wiring(?) / environment.

Yeah, we had already discussed this. It's just a bond that's holding the cables together. I'll circle it:

http://img174.exs.cx/img174/2458/untitled14bv.png

Maybe you didn't see it because of the horrendous quality of your trailer. Look closer though. The "torso and head" part is just the piece holding the cables together. The "legs" are the cables themselves.

Obi-Wan dives into a forward roll that ends up with him on the rim of a low cliff, just above the soft black sand of a lava riverbank.

Anakin snarls at Obi-Wan, realising he has been tricked. He leaps off his droid at Obi-Wan's back but is half a second too slow.

Obi-Wan whirls to parry Anakin, but his saber doesn't meet Anakin's blade. Instead, he slices off Anakin's leg at the knee. Then he slices of the other leg at the knee. And while Anakin is still in the air, Obi-Wan uses his blade to slice off Anakin's left arm above the elbow. He steps back as Anakin falls.

Anakin drops his lightsaber, clawing at the edge of the cliff with his mechanical hand, but his grip becomes too powerful for the lava bank and the edge crumbles, and he slides down onto the black sand.

His severed legs and his severed arm rolls into the lava below him and immediately burns.

Anakin claws at the soft black sand, but his struggling only makes him slip farther. The sand itself is hot; digging his mechanical arm into it burns off his glove, and his robes begin to smolder.

Obi-Wan picks up Anakin's lightsaber. He lifts his own as well and weighs them in his hands. Anakin had based his design upon Obi-Wan's and thus they appear very similar.

The second part of his "death" is missing though.
Anyway, not long to go until April 2nd. That's the day Lucasfilm publically reveal EVERYTHING about this movie: the whole plot, all the spoilers, all the secrets.

Nimrandir

Everything is released. The book, magazines, action figures I think. Everything. I'll be picking up the book for sure, and probably a Grievous action figure.

Nimrandir
03-13-2005, 02:38 PM
Ah, the book, the books are usually changed in certain aspects to keep the spoilers a secret until you see the movie. Is it the same for SW books?

Tornado
03-13-2005, 02:42 PM
?

I don't think I've ever read a book like that. No, this book will have everything.

Nimrandir
03-13-2005, 02:49 PM
Here is an example of what i mean:

The Novel of the movie X2 had the end being all the x-men survive and return to the mansion. Jean Grey did not remain behind. She left in the plane with the rest and was with them in the oval office. Brian Singer even had a Shot made up to back it up. But as we know in the movie She sacrificed herself for them and is belived to be dead though see isn't.

The same thing happened with the Spiderman 2 books, certain happenings were altered to keep things a surprise.

It is interesting if SW releases all the info in t he movie into the book.

Tornado
03-13-2005, 02:55 PM
Yeah you're right, I had forgotten about the ending to X2 (which is strange, because I just re-read it last week, my memory must be fading me).

Who knows? Maybe you'll be right and they won't release everything in the Episode III book. I guess I don't really care either way. This movie is pretty much spoiled for me anyway (seeing as how I've read/seen pretty much every tidbit about it since Episode II came out).

Nimrandir
03-13-2005, 02:58 PM
It doesn't really matter to me either way. I enjoy being spoiled because I can discuss it. I still like to have some surprises though.

Brenzi51
03-13-2005, 05:32 PM
Well...keep us posted on any of the new spoilers that u may pick up...not that i doubt you wouldn't

Spirited Away

Even though the novel of Episode III will differ from the film, the scrapbook and other merchandise will have to full, movie-story.
