There are a lot of young actors out there that are real underrated. I think
Scott Caan(Ocean's 11, Varsity Blues)
http://www.cinevegas.com/yearbook/yearbook_pics/2003/Scott%20Caan.jpg
and
Brian Van Holt(Basic, Ocean's 11)

Who do you think?

I'll speak for everyone when I say Edward Norton. Although he's in a few high profile movies, he still is kind of underground in a sense, not one to hog the spotlight.
But let ye be warned, if I sees anyone talkin about thar Orlando Bloom in this thread, ye be walkin the plank and be chums with Davey Jones. (ie I'm going to kill you)

I think Dominic Monghan is very underrated even though he starred in one of the biggest movies of all time.

Don cheadle has been around for years and has never recieved the credit for his amazing ability till this year...alos, I think that Dakota Fanning deserves credit as being one of the best child actors in a long time.

You see people like Andy Serkis and Jim Caviesel in a few high profile movies, but you don't hear about them too often...IMO I find them underrated..

^Agreed on Jim Caviezel.
Also, Tim Roth. What a fantastic actor but so underrated. Just like Ben Chaplin.

Hayden Christensen. Everyone bases his acting skills off of Episode II (which, had pretty terrible writing to boot). If you don't believe me, go watch "Shattered Glass". This kid has a bright future (so long as he doesn't become typecast as Anakin Skywalker ala Mark Hamill).

^I was actually quite surprised to see how good he was in Shattered Glass. I thought, as most of people, he couldn't act at all after seeing Episode II.

Paul Bettany

He was cool in A Knight's Tale and a few other things, but the movie that sold me on him was Gangster Number 1, which was really kind of a piece of crap flick but good lord was Bettany great in it. That last picture there's from it. He was down-right scary.

Joaquin Phoenix
Good call. Every time I see him in a movie I wonder why he's not bigger than he is.

I'm no spiderman geek but Tobey Maguire was great in Spiderman 2 and Seabiscuit.... He is very underrated IMO.... If he had not done any of the spidey films and done seabiscuit... he would be taken way more seriously....
Christian Bale has been around for a long time.. Look for him to shine with 3 upcoming movies...

Gangster Number 1...that's a very underrated movie too, I loved it...wierdly cool movie. And Paul Bettany's performance in that movie was incredible.
And I'll add Sean Bean as an underrated actor.

Jesus, id have got all nervous and be scared to mention anything with the word bat in it.
From recent interviews it sounds like hes already fed up of his ascociation with the dark knight.
Fantastic actor though, best British actor of his age group.

He will be making his move on Hollywood soon. He just wrote and directed what looks to be a very, very good film.

 If anything, his fanbase overrates him. Well, I guess most actors are overrated by their fans....
I would say,hmm.. Sean Bean, Dom Monighan, Joaquin Phoenix, Don Cheadle... all of which have been mentioned here already.

I read an interview with him in Empire the other day and they said when they brought up the Batman topic he looked kinda fed up of talking about it.
