Xbox 2??

When is xbox 2 coming out does anyone here know?? and will there be an xbox 2 live?? because im wondering whether its worth getting xbox live or waiting a bit longer.

rumors say it may come out late 2005, but nothing's official. however, i do believe it could come out at the end of 2005.

about waiting to get xbox live, i say you should get it now. there are many great games on the current xbox live, and it will be almost at least another year for xbox 2.

Allright, XBox 2 or Xbox Next as it is being called right now is supposed to be released in the fall or winter of 2005. Microsoft is planning to release 3 different Xbox Next models they are: XBox Next SD, Xbox Next HD, and Xbox Next PC. of the three XBox Next SD will be the cheapest, XBox NExt HD will be the same thing except with a built in hardrive, and XBox Next PC will be a PC and XBox Next hybrid. XBox Next will probably use 12 gigabyte HD-DVD ROMs, it will probably have a Pentium 5 processor and a next generation video chip from ATI. However, dont throw uout that XBox yet; Xbox Next will probably be VERY expensive seeing that its capabilities are better than most high-end PCs, so there will still be plenty of developers making XBox games well into 2006 if not later. And if you do decide to pick up a XBox 2 when it comes out, it will be backward compatible with the original Xbox's software.

I saw a pic of it on Gamespy.com......the only problem is I can't find it anymore. Anyway, it was like round with the bottom right corner popping out. And from what I remember it was like translucent green.

It was probably just a fan design for the console, if official pics were released or leaked they would be over a few game sites.

Xbox 2 is done they are just checking for gliches and stuff. There will most likely have Xbox 2 Live I'm sure. One of the 1st games to come out for Xbox 2 is Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. I'm not sure if you can play Xbox games on Xbox 2 but we will have to wait and see. I heard that the Xbox 2 will have no loading time what so ever and I also heard that the Xbox 2 will be 10 or maybe 100 times better the Xbox. Can't wait till it comes out.

This is some computer generated image that I found off of Google Images, only the page that the pic is on is like in German, so I am just guessing this is some sort of computer generated prototype made by Microsoft. But that probably isn't true so don't hold me on that.

I like the bottom design. Its pretty cool. The final X-BOX design will probably be much smaller though.

i've heard quite a few things about the next xbox, most of which is just speculation. one being that it is essentially the same as one of apple's computers. the other that it would have the same processor or cpu nonsense as the N5 as the same company is working on it.

It's all definitly speculation. Expect near to nothing anything really solid until E3, where it's more than obvious they will first unleash it.

I hope so, for the more time they take the better it'd be you'd think. I want Sony and Microsoft to pump it all out again, so I'll have a couple sweet systems to pick up. The Gamecube had a few fun games, but I think I'll pass up Nintendo this time around.

If they market their next system the way they did with the GameCube I'll do the same.
Either way I'm gunning for the next Xbox, PS3 I'm not interested in, and hopefully Nintendo can turn it around as I really don't want to let them go.

There is no telling whether its done or not. Even if it was done, they wouldn't tell us because they don't want the other competition to know what they have. Nobody from Microsoft will leak a bit of info out if its done. Same goes for Sony with their PS3 system, but I have heard that they had some major problems with internal system fires, lol.

So in my travels this weekend I came across a Microsoft employee and talked him up about Xbox II... here are the facts I found out.

1) Hard Drive... Yes! There was some speculation that MS was going to take the HD out to make it more difficult to Mod.

2) Flash based HD... Yes!!! It was told to me that the HD was going to be flash based... small size fast access... BAM!

3) No Stupid Dongle DVD playback... Yes!!! The reason that the first Xbox didn't have built in DVD playback is a simple one, Sony owns the Intellectual Property rights for DVD playback. Nuf said...

4) Xbox II at E3... Hell Yes!!! There will be an Xbox II maybe more at E3 this year...

5) Xbox II release date announced at E3... another Hell Yes!!! MS will be announcing a release date for Xbox II...

Now this is not like the "rumors" about IBM before these are hard cold facts from the horses mouth...

What was the initial price for an X-box over at you?

Because in Norway it was 4000 kroner - which is roughly 650 USD in todays currency....

So if i got an Xbox 2 for 400 bucks i would be HAPPY :)

Why don't I like it?

1. PS2 has better games. [Halo you say? Well, I say that I don't like first person shooters]

2. aesthetically unpleasing, especially the bulky controller. the whole thing's just too bulky in general.

3. **** i just didn't like it! I had the sucker for like 6 months and could not make myself like it!

p.s. I'm not discounting the possiblity that Xbox 2 could rule the world, I'm just saying that the first did not at all impress me, and they will have to really blow me away to make a believer out of this playstation brother.

See for myself it was the other way around. Totally anti-Xbox, but then there were games on it that looked better, ran smoother, were more fun, and had a better implemented online community. My brother has the PS2 and it just looks and play sluggish imo. Once Live began to take flight and found the S controller to be quite comfortable I was sold.

I got an XBOX late 2003...I just sold it, getting my new PStwo and a few new games really restored my faith in the console, My XBOX sat there after I got a DVD player in my room, and once I got the new PStwo it was pretty much the end for my XBOX, I didnt enjoy any of the games after playing them for a few weeks and they ended up just sitting in my drawer doing nothing.

I think you are ignorant because you say ps3 will be better then xbox2, when however you cant know. Unless you have some type of timemashine or something ;)

How can you say that the ps2 is better because it has better games? I think what you meen is that the games is better, not the console itself.
