That web-site is run by PETA. They are a very extreme animal rights group. They are against people owning pets. In fact, one of their goals is to have the word "pet" changed to "human companion."
Apparently, "pet" implies that we are better than them (animals). Imagine that.

While I don't like the idea of "puppy mills" churning out pets that no one wants and then have to be put down, I still think there's a place for pet stores out in the good old free market.

Although I'd like to see people think more about adopting pets from shelters first.

Same with children.
