Since we know that if a sequel gets made the villains will be The Invisible Man and The Fish Man, what would you guys like to see in the sequel, what kind of battle's, new characters, and first movie references would you like.
I would love see some sort of underwater battle between the fishman and VH. One thing i was dissapointed about with the first movie though, was that i thought they should've kept him as a werewolf, they could just have to make some kind of formula that keeps him from changing. How good would it be to see the Invisible Man trying to sneak up on VH, and then VH grabs him and says something like "You may find it difficult to sneak up on a werewolf my friend, we have an excellent sense of smell and hearing." That would be great!
Also, if ever a third VH movie was to be made who would you like to be the villains and what would you like to see etc. My picks would be Jack The Ripper (i'm sure they could turn him into some sort of demon or evil being) and ..............The Mummy, this would be SO cool. Imagine it, i dont know how they would link these villains together though that would be the only problem.
Well guys and gals, feel free to discuss and make your own suggestions.

hey i am a fan i liked beacause no one else did
I AM A FAN OF Van Helsing :) :) :)
And I have no shame in admitting it. VH was simply a cheesy, giant, over the top, CG filled mad action film. I really enjoyed it for what it was.
In fact most people I know enjoyed this film... it just seems to have become very popular to bash this film on the internet.
I would go and see a second film. But I must admit I have never heard of the fish man !?!?

Van Helsing wasn't as bad as bad as some people think. I liked the look of the film . Mostly the translyvania look. It was not as bad as people say. Its not no mummy ut its around a 7/10. To put it on made for video would cheapen it. I'd rather they never make onother Vah Helsing.

I think the Mummy, the Mummy Returns and Van Helsing were all equally dreadful.

Hey I'm a fan! :D
Personally I's like to see the Fish Man, The Invisible Man, and the Bride of Frankenstein (that way Frankenstein could come back as well. ;) )
The only thing I didn't like about Van Helsing was the whole sub plot with the baby vampire's that is what really screwed up the movie (not to mention the vampire mythology.) If they had just left it as a movie with Van Helsing hunting Dracula, The Wolf Man, and Frankenstein then it would of been good (not great but good.) :)

Frankenstein's bride would be a cool idea. Seeing the invisible man or the fish man would be cool too. But to make these sequels good, Stephen Sommers should be fired. The guy misuses CGI so much. The Mummy was good, the sequel wasnt that great and Van Helsing was a great idea flushed down the toilet. Sommers has to be the second worst director in Hollywood(Paul WS Anderson being first of course). As bad as it was, Universal screwed themselves by using 3 of their laready famous monster's instead of making a potential franchise.
The jack the ripper as a demon is a bad idea. Maybe if they thought he was a demon but ended up being just some guy seems better to me.

I thought this movie would be great when I rented it, but I actually hated it. Incredibly cheesy. That chick with the accent sucked, too.

By Fish Man Im sure we all mean the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and I would love to see them all in a movie with Van Helsing.

If they do the mummy as a villian, would they use the mummy from the "Mummy" movies made from the same person who created this movie? Or mkae a new mummy?

There were some enjoyable things in Van Helsing, but overall way too much CGI, to the point where it became cheesy. :(
yes, way too much CGI. i think they noticed it too when they looked at the final product. So i hope the CGI is almost gone in the next one. The last battle looked like a computer game. But hugh jackman is great though. He is prolly the best actor in action movies today.

I fall in this category as well. I can enjoy just about any movie. That doesn't mean I think just about any movie sould win an oscar. There is an entire market for movies that entertain and have no other pretense, VH is one of those movies.
VH is exactly what it was supposed to be. Nothing more, nothing less.

IP_GURU, well said, some movies are just made to simply entertain and take you away from reality for 2 hours, VH does exactly that, for me anyway.
that is somewhat the point Ebert was trying to make when he was one of few critics that liked the movie. he knew there were flaws with it, and that it could have been better. but it was a good "popcorn flick" just to go out with friends and have a good time. i thought it was a pretty well rounded moive.

maybe nick cage! he was good in the rock and con air and his new one looks good and action packed. all jackman has really done is x-men and van helsing but I still think he is class as wolverine, hope they do the wolverine film justice with good story and lots of wolverine rage. As for a van helsing 2 why not the first one was no classic but was still good fun a few tweaks and a 2nd film could do the character justice.

best action star?... i'd take vin diesel and the rock over hugh jackman... viggo mortensen is the best actor in an action movie...
VH was a pretty movie... fluffy... a real script could have made it a little bit darker and alot better... unfortunately if their is a sequel it will probably be of the same mummy-caliber... shame... it had so much potential...

Jackman's Double Gun gimmick was sweet.
Also Dr. Jekyll was hilarious.

I want Van Hellsing 2. They might revive there is Anna Valerious of some form.
It She might turn there is God returning the life to her. More powerful that before for saving the world.
And that she and Van Hellsing has more adventures in two more movies.

I'm aware of it not trying to get an Oscar but at least don't disregard plot, acting, and character development. As little as they have, Michael Bay's film feature something resembling a plot. Sure the characters are stereotypical but at least I can tolerate them. Stephen Sommers was under the assumption that going crazy with VFX meant a good movie. It did not.

Mr Hyde should have been made into a big villan instead of the orgy of bad monsters they used in that crap.
A cartoon series was planned and sequel was planned but was shelved after the movie didnt perform that well at the box-office.

I'd Like to seea Van Helsing hunt the Mummy Imotep. The Mummy would be the ultimate monster. I would have the movie done when Evy and Ricks son was grown up. Orlando Bloom should play Alex. Van Helsing could be frozen in ice in some battle with another monster. Any elderly Evy finds it on an expidtiton and Van Helsing returns. Imotep is braught back by the secret order again.
The only other monster I'd like to see in a V.H movie would be The Creature from the black lagoon. Or a group of Gargoyles.

I would also love to see VH battle Imhotep, i thought they should have kept as a werewolf definately, and simply have Carl give him a serum that can kep him from changing,

VH was a good movie,it just could of been a whole lot better. They shouldn't of had Frankenstein's monster be a good guy teaming up with VH,they shouldn't of used cg for Dracula's appearance,Igor shouldn't of looked like the vampire from the movie subspecies.
For a sequel if VH is in some swamp looking for an artifact, you can have the fish guy, which would be cool. You can also have headhunters, and a giant snake in the swamp too.
Then you can have VH in Egypt in a pyramid looking for another artifact where a ancient mummy is.But have the mummy look like a mummy with the wrappings. There could be some traps also in the pyramid, also some poisonous scorpions.
Then VH can be in the Himalayas Mountains looking for another artifact where he fights a herd of Abominable Snowman.
VH could be inside a volcano looking for another artifact where he fights a bunch of Cyclops. The Cyclops body could be indestructible, but their heads are just eyeballs the size of basketballs that are very fragile, like an egg.
VH could be in a old plantation house looking for another artifact where the house is filled with Ghosts.
VH could be chasing a Witch through a cemetery to get an artifact from her.VH could shoot her broom so she can't fly anymore.Th Witch could shoot electricity out of her hands. The Witch could also cast a spell to make the corpses(Zombies) rise from the ground and attack VH.
When VH has all the artifacts, they could tell him the location to the gates of hell,so he can close them,so no more monsters can enter the world. Then VH will only have to kill the monsters that are already on the earth,so then one day people can say monsters do not exist.

Hugh Jackman was seriously F***** Hot when he ripped off his clothes and turned into a.... gee I guess that maybe a spoiler so I won't say... but HOT!!!!
And if I were to see something simlar to that in VH2 I'd be all for it.
*As long as he protrays Wolverine another couple of times I'll be one happy girl*
Oh and someone bought this DVD for me for X-Mas.... have been afraid to open it and watch due to my hubby falling asleep in the movie theathre when we saw it the first time and he started snoring so loud I had to wake him up and face his terrible wrath as well as his complain along how boring it was for the last 1 of the movie, kinda sucked my Hugh fun out a bit...
