Ok, one of my friends believes Saw is an Australian film just because it was directed and written by Australians.
I say since its an American production (i.e PRODUCED by America, and IMDB says USA) that its an American movie.
What do you think of his statements?
Also does the director or the writer have a website where i can contact them?
Thanks

If all of the technical work (directing, producing, filming, acting, whatever) was done in America, then it's an American film.

Yeah i understand that, we've explained it all but i think anything short of hte director saying it himself will fall on deaf ears.

I don't fully agree with that. If it's produced by an Australian company then it's Australian, but if it's an American Produced movie filmed in Australia, it's still an American movie. Look at all the American movies filmed in Prague, Australia and Canada and they are considered American movies. Most American movies filmed in those countries use those countries production crews because of Union laws.

But thats the thing, this was filmed in America also.
We saw it at a test screening and if the man hadnt said "it was actually written by two aussie guys from Melbourne.." then we'd have NO clue they were Aussie.
American producers, actors (mostly), filmed in America, set in America.. He just wont get it.
