I heard that after their 16th or 17th season, they are going to make a movie and call it quits. Do you think they should?

They have to do it sometime.

Should they? Yes.
Will they? I think the voice actors are contracted until at least the 18th season. And Matt Groeing has shown no signs of wanting to call it quits. They'll probably want to break the 20 year mark then maybe finish it off with a movie.

this is from an interview done with matt from eoline
''The Simpsons'' is still going on strong, now entering its 16th season. How long will it keep going?
We're gonna do at least two more years, and maybe two more after that. It's hard for me to imagine the show ever ending. The goal with ''The Simpsons'' is to continue to surprise ourselves, and so far, that's happening. I don't see any reason for it to end
I am not sure. I think i have never thought about it ending. It will be sad when it does because it is kind of still fresh, but it has to end some time. When ever.

I love the simpsons but some of the later episodes are a little silly. Somehow they all end up singing. I would be sad to see it go :(

I bet after the 20th season he is going to call it quits. He will make a movie after the show is over. Thats my predictions. If he has the cast until the 18th season, then i bet they will stretch it to get the 20th season mark.

They should end the Simpsons after the 18th season, i would rather see it go out with a large audience still rather than have it die with lower ratings.

I agree that the show started to suck about 2-3 years ago.
It's unfortunate.

I was not a fan of the first two seasons of the simpsons. I liked them when they came out, but the voices and animation were just so screwed up. Kind of like South Park. The best episodes of the Simpsons were in the middle 90's.

It's gotta end soon. Better end it before it starts to REALLY suck.

It's still the funniest show on TV, but it's a shadow of its former self. I don't feel the same level of disappointment when I miss an episode. And rarely feel the desire to "quote" an episode of the last couple of years.

I basically stopped watching around 97, after that, they just go so damn bad. Occasionally good, mostly crap

It's gotta end sometime, like all shows....
I agree the episodes aren't up to the level that past episodes have been but they are still funny and I watch it daily and can't wait till the new episodes start in November.
Yeah, the qualitiy is wanning, but the old ones have been played so many times, i know them off by heart. I remember watching some of them when i was 6. That was 12 years ago, and i have seen them a million times since then. the new ones are refreshing.
