I will probably play the demo and see how I like it first.
It will probably only be fun in multiplayer. Thats the main aspect of the game.
It like battlefield vietnam/1942 if you have played any of those. Exept its only 3rd person instead of 1st person. Then you have tons of different classes, weapons, AT-AT, fighters etc..... you get the picture :)

Yea, IGN gave it 8.5 on Xbox, 8.2 on PS2 and 7.5 on PC. The single player is a bit weak because of the enemy A.I but it was a late addition, this is all about multiplayer and team work. The PC version got a lower score because it can get difficult when fighting human opponants which i dont understand, the guy moans about how its too easy in single player then marks it down for being too hard when fighting against other human players because the keyboard and mouse are so precise!?(what the hell, this guys sucks) He doesnt mention anything in the review about the graphics or sound and his reasons for marking the PC version down are just plain stupid. Ah well, still a very positive review :) if a little stupid.

Star Wars video games have had a bad history especially on council games. I'll rent it first. It looks good but, then again so did Bounty Hunter.

If you live in the Fond du Lac area in Wisconsin, then head to Target if you want the game. They broke street date on it.
I haven't picked up my copy yet though.

The demo is not as great as i expected, its fom a very early version of the game and both sides only have three different class of fighters and so there's not as many players as normal on the map, it can take you ages to find someone and if you die, its back to a long search for someone, lol. Still is fun however.

HEY! I got this game today, had to sell my ass on the corner but I got the money, lol. Anyhow, this is odd. I got online to play Battlefront and guess what?! NOBODY IS PLAYING IT ONLINE YET....??? What is up with that? You would think that all of these people that pre-ordered it would be playing on there. Maybe they are in single player just trying to get the hang out the controls first, I don't know. But I had time to do that and then get online, I'm so dissapointed that no one is on there yet. Well, if any of you CS'ers get this game and go online, then look for me. My name on there is... GreenPoop. (by the way, I have PS2)

ZombieMan
09-22-2004, 11:35 AM
Yeah here is a tip, IT DOESN'T COST MONEY TO PLAY PS2 ONLINE! Only a few games make you pay, like Final Fantasy.
whosaidwhatnow?
09-22-2004, 12:29 PM
Yea, they will probably patch the online because there have been some complaints, oh and Zombieman, have you been on the official battlefront website? Everyone whos played online on ps2 has their stats online, check it out and see what position you are on the leaderboards :) Heres a link http://www.lucasarts.com/games/swbattlefront/leaderboards_ps2.html
Whats your game names so i can check your stats? ;)
I got it yesterday....stayed up waaay too late playing it. Still doing the single player campaign until I get use to the control scheme and maps. I like the variety of soldiers and the ability to be good or bad in certain battles. Killing Gungans was fun! Some battles get down right hectic. Endor was difficult.
The only thing that pissed me off was that there is no "invert look up & down". Or I haven't found the controller option.

whosaidwhatnow, I'm not even ranked yet. I didn't play online very long, I mainly played single player last night and yesterday. My name on there is GreenPoop. What is your name?

The only thing that pissed me off was that there is no "invert look up & down". Or I haven't found the controller option.
I found the option....duh. Game totaly kicks ass. Endor is very difficult. If you beat it, please share your strategy.

i have been playing this on my pc for last day or so. really like the clone war maps for fair and balanced play
I find the endor maps are insane hard for rebels. I have yet to be on a map that the rebels have one.
I dont know about single player as i will probably never select that option, but online is where the fun is anyway..
its cool that keep stats and such on the ps2, but im old school and think these games are only fun on the pc world. but someday when i give the others a chance, i might change my mind

Ey patman. Check out www.tothegame.com
Its a site that keeps track of all info on a game. If you go to the searchbar on the top and put in "battlefront". Then click on the game you will be taken to the game site on tothegame.com. There there are links to all other sites that have info/screenshots/videos/interviews/reviews on the game. Its a great site. It also keeps its own screenshots.
Have fun :)

I've played this game for the PS2. My brother in law bought it and we ended up playing for a few hours. It took me a bit to get used to the moving around and targeting things, but after a while it was fun. It sucks you can't kill Vader. I must have blasted him with everything I had and he deflects it all, even missiles. When it drops to 20 bucks, I'll probably pick it up.

I'm really getting pissed off at my Battlefront game because everytime I try to play online it freezes up when I first start. I will just get into a game and pick my player and then it jams up. Any suggestions? It only happens on this game by the way.

10-01-2004, 02:33 PM
Hmm...strange thing. It might be some problem with some of your settings. Go to the official page, and on the official forum/message board. Post ALL your PC specs and a report about what your problem is. You will get help there. But if it freezes up, its probably something with your graphics card. But it can be something else as well. Hard to say.
Just go there, and they will help you.

If its the PS2 version all i can recommend is go to the official website forum like Andrey said and also check out the technical help forum at www.swbattlefront.net. Hope you find a way to fix it.

Crap, I still can't figure out how to fix the problem. That website really didn't have what I was looking for but thanks anyway. Guess I'll have to stick with playing single player and split screen with my friends here at the house.
