I recently sold my PS2 for a Gamecube (best move i ever made, seeing that a week after the kid bought it it started the dreaded DRE stuff on him :D ) and i did the nintendo thing and loved it, but i really want the new GTA, NG, and Halo 1+2 of course, its 150 right? Is it worth the money for these 4 games?

The gamecube is cheap, so if you plan on selling it you might want to think twice. Plus, Xbox's are at a pretty good price now. I say just buy an Xbox without having to sell the Gamecube. It's not worth it if you keep doing that.
...AND most games for both consoles are nice n cheap.
I own both consoles so you have a pretty balanced opinion

Oh no i would never sell my Cube, (I my self, am a nintendo fanboy) i just wasnt sure if most of the Box exclusives were just over hyped, (halo, NG) are really were THAT good.

I think the X Box is the best machine for the money. I read that is was a $600 dollar machine, but that was when it was selling for $300.

Well, personally I don't think it would be worth it to sell the Gamecube at this point. As Ruban said, a NEW Gamecube doesn't run more than about $100, so, you'd be lucky to get more than $50 for it used (which wouldn't happen).
As for buying an XBOX? Hell yeah, definitely go for it. The first Halo is simply fantastic, and the second one looks to be as good or better. Knights of the Old Republic is also a great little RPG that can be played with little to no experience in the genre (I should know, I've never played an RPG before KOTOR and I figured it out just fine). Prince of Persia and the Splinter Cell franchise also make the system that much more invaluable (even though both can be played on other systems). Not to mention GTA: SA will eventually be released on XBOX...
I'd say go for it. But, that's just in my opinion.

I want to get an Xbox, there are quite a few games I would like to get, I already own a PS2 and a Gamecube along with at least 30 games for both combined, Xbox is next. My roomates own one so I have gotten a couple games for it, but I need my own Xbox.

As far as we know the next generation consoles will be at next years E3 and going on sale around christmas 2006.
As for XBox, I'd say go for it... I own an XBox and a PS2, I mostly buy XBox games and I only break out the PS2 for exclusives like 'San Andreas.
next gen consoles.. rumored/speculated release dates are:
x2: christmas 2005-06
revolution:06
ps3: 06-07

I own both PS2 and XBox and since I bought my XBox I have hardly played my PS2. Maybe 2-3 times and I have had my XBox for almost a year now. I say buy the XBox!

Personally, I think you're better off with a really good PC (if you build it smartly, it can be good for up to 5 years). They're more powerful than any console, have other uses such as work and, the multiplayer is always better on PC, plus your online options are better as well as a better interface for FPS (though for 3rd person adventure it can be harder)
If you can't afford a PC, then, sure get an Xbox. I'm a PS2 fanboy but if you really think you've outplayed PS2, then by all means move on.
