Okay, this is my movie idea for a suspenseful thriller which is kind of like Collateral plus Phone Booth, with a dash of Frailty and Se7en. Okay, here's the idea:

"The Driver"

This movie is about a rich entrepenouer who want to go out on a night on the town, right after he got done selling his 1 millionth product (one became faulty the night earlier and severly injured someone but he did not care). He calls up a limousine service in the yellow pages. He gets picked up, and immediately the driver starts a conversation with him. We only see the drivers eyes as of now. But the conversation begins to get personal so the protagonist asks the driver to drop him off at a local pub. The driver refuses and the protagonist begins to get angry. The driver tells him to calm down and he will get to know him better since he will be with him for the night. The protagonist takes out his cell phone but the driver tells him to put it away...or else he and thousands of innocent others will die.

The protagonist asks him why, and the driver tells him that he has large quantities of plastic explosives near the supports of some of the biggest financial and political buildings in America. The driver said the protagonist will run some errands or else he will die and the innocent people will as well. He also said he has the doors and windows rigged so he cannot escape manually. He tells the protagonist to hand over his cell phone as well as his wallet. He said if he will not rob the protagonist so theres nothing to worrry about. The driver begins a conversation about religion, and how god will put the grapes of wrath into those who do not appreciate their fellow man. He said he has 8 stops to make, 7 which involve the protagonist.

The protagonist asks why he was chosen and he tells him about the faulty product, and how he avoided the saftey regulations for a buck. He said redemption will come to those which deserve. The first stop is to a large mansion. The driver tells the protagonist that the man inside the mansion works for a major corporation, and laid off hundreds of thousands of workers so they could hire mexican labor for cheaper prices. He tells him he committed a travesty to the society, the economy, and to his fellow man, and must pay for it. He tells the protagonist to break into the house and kill the man with his bare hands. The protagonist starts to freak out, and the driver tells him that if he does not do so, he will die right now and set off the explosives. He also warns that if the protagonist runs or calls the police that he will blow up the buildings, track him down, and kill him. The protagonist leaves the car and moves past the gate. He sees the businessman snorting coke on a table with two scandalously clad women to both sides of him. He looks around and sees a large rock, which he throws through the window. The businessman fears its his wife and tells the women to leave, which they do. The protagonist walks through the open door and sneaks in. He confronts the businessman, and asks if he is guilty of doing so. The businessman says yes, and that he would do it ten times over, and if the protagonist doesn't leave his house he'll kick his ass and call the cops. The protagonist looks at the limosine outside, and looks at the man, who starts insulting the protagonist. The protagonist tackles him onto his table and a fight ensues. Tables, objects, windows are broken, but the protagonist ends up punching the man to the point of near death and then strangles him. He gets up, and looks at the dead businessman, and vomits. He begins to cry and realise what he's done and begins praying to god. We hear a horn honk and he returns to the limosine.

The driver congratulates him, and the protagonist calls him a sick mother*****er. He tells him that he is not sick. Scavengers are sick. He says the rich make scavengers, make them rob, make them kill, make them ruin society. The driver tells the protagonist he handled the situation well, and that redemption is around the corner. He just has to open his eyes. The protagonist starts to question the driver, asking him why he doesn't do it himself. The driver says he is not in the position to do the errands, just the position to make sure to get them done.

The next stop is at a bar. He rolls down the window so the protagonist could see. He tells him it is a gay bar, and to look to the left. A car pulls up, and a skinhead with a baseball bat comes out and hide behinds it. Two gay men, one black and one white, come out of the bar. The skinhead comes out and begins harassing them, and hits the black man with the bat while blurting out ethnic slurs. The white gay guy tries to fight back but the skinhead breaks the mans leg with the bat and runs back to his car and drives off. The limosine follows the car back to a ramshackle apartment. The driver begins ranting on the sins of the intolerant, that they are the downfall of themselves. The driver tells the protagonist that that man would not turn a blind eye to those different than him, and now he would do so. He asks the protagonists to make the man permanently blind by any means necessary. He opens the door and the protagonist gets out. The skinhead notices the door slamming and hides in a black room. The protagonist looks at the window and breaks it open. He crawls through and looks for the man, but to no avail. Suddenly, the skinhead pops out and hits the protagonist in the ribs with a baseball bat. He drops the bat and starts calling him homophobic slurs, as he saw him in the limosine when he left. He starts kicking the protagonist, and then tells him he's going to carve him a new *******, and then goes into the black room. The protagonist struggles to get to his feet but can't since he is in too much pain. The skinhead returns with a machete, and gets above the protagonist. He asks him if he wants any last words while he is raising up the machete. The protagonist asks him to spare his life, but the skinhead laughs. The protagonist takes his knee and rams it into the skinheads foot, who falls down and drops his machete. There is a short struggle for the machete until the protagonist headbutts the skinhead a few times and gets the machete. We cut to the protagonists POV, where it is dazed but soon regains clearness. He takes the machete and slices the man left temple and some of his eye. The skinhead begins to scream and we cut to his other eyes POV where the protagonist is lifting the machete. We cut to the broken window POV where the protagonist rams the machete into the skinheads eye and head multiple times. He gets up and begins stabbing the mans abdomen while screaming at him. He lodges the machete in the skinheads chest and gets out of his fit. He begisn to rip down nazi posters and break the skinheads things. He kicks open the door and gets into the limosine. he tells the driver its done, and the driver notices the blood on the man from the skinhead and gives him a rag from the dashboard to clean himself. He reminds the protagonist redemption is around the corner, and that he is finally seeing through gods eyes. He tells him they have 4 more stops to make before he can go and its over.

PART 2 WILL COME SOON.

Well, just to say, it gets alot deeper and disturbing as time goes on.

Here is Part 2:

The Driver begins another conversation with the protagonist, about how he can get away with these crimes because his description is very John Doe. He starts asking about simpler stuff, Name, Favorite food, and such. We learn the name of our Protagonist is Tom (TGOW reference), and we will refer to him a Tom Doe for the rest of the passage. Tom begins to turn the tables on the driver, questioning the drivers manliness for not doing these things himself. The driver compliments Tom for having the balls to say such a thing, and that he should savor that anger. He also reminds Tom Doe that he should have no remorse in his deeds, as these people have done horrible things to society and therefore must pay. Tom starts asking if he is like a psycho, like the guy in Se7en or Manhunter. The driver starts laughing, telling him he's not as crazy as anyone else in the world. He said he is however lucky that one day he will die, and he will no longer see society get destroyed by itself. He drives up to his next stop.

He is on the corner of a small ghetto-like neighborhood. Tom looks out the window to see a prostitute. The Driver said even though Prostitutes abuse themselves for a living, they still need that money. He does not approve of the hobby but he said they are lifes scavengers (motif), who will do anything to survive. A crappy green car pulls up and a nerdy man begins talking to the prostitute. She enters the car which drives off. The driver follows the car to an alley, where the man and the prostitute are having sex in the car. After they finish the man gets out and the prostitute demands he money. The man punches her in the face and stomps on her several times on the ground, calling her degrading names. He hops back in his car and drives away. Tom requests that they should bring the prostitute to the hospital, but the Driver says no, and even if they did she would not accept, since her pimp would beat her raw if she didn't meet her "status quo".

The Driver follows the prostitute abuser to a parking garage. The Driver follows and parks behind a support so the man could not see him. The man gets out of his car and begins cleaning his stains off his car. The Driver tells Tom this man is guilty of destruction of his fellow man, as he has done this many times. He said a man who buys sex and instead of paying, he beats and abuses them, is a man who should not deserve to have his sick mind with him. So he tells Tom his next errand will involve some help. He tells him to look into the compartment where the champagne is kept. When tom does, he finds a saw. He starts asking what it is for, and the driver tells him to take that man's sick mind...along with his sick *****ing head. The driver reaches down and gets a duffel bag which he throws back to Tom. He said he wants him to kill the pervert, and then remove the head, and put it in a duffel bag. When he is finished he will leave it outside the drivers door, and he will put it in the trunk. He opens the door and lets Tom out.

Tom walks out from behind the support and walks to the mans car slowly. The man cannot see him as he is cleaning his back seat. Tom slowly walks and tries not to make any sounds. He finally reaches the car and hides behind the open front door. The nerd gets up and looks at his tissue in disgust and throws it on the ground. He then sees another “stain” and goes to pick up the tissue when he sees a pair of feet under his door. He takes out a snub-nosed revolver and tells Tom to stand up with his hands behind his head. Tom puts the saw behind his shirt in the back of his pants and puts his hands behinds his head and walks out. The pervert sees Tom and asks him what he’s doing. Tom lies and says he thought the front tire was out of air. The pervert says his tire is fine, and wants to know who Tom is. Tom just says he was checking out the tire, and tells him to go check himself. The pervert doesn’t and tells tom to get against the car. He begins searching Tom for any weapons. Tom then looks at the car and asks the pervert what the stains are from. The perv turns Tom around and pistol whips him, in which tom falls bloody to the ground. Tom looks up and the perv is point his gun to Tom. The perv says Tom will get up and get in his trunk. The Perv backs up and opens the trunk. Tom pulls out the saw andruns towards the perv, lodging the saw in the Perv’s gun hand. The perv begins to scream. Tom takes the gun and shoots the perv in the head.
Tom takes out his saw, and looks at it. He looks at the support in which the limousine is behind, and then at the dead man. Tom puts the saw to the dead mans neck and closes his eyes. We hear the sawing and some blood splattering, but we do not see, as we are in Toms POV. Then we hear a voice saying HELLO. It is a policeman, who heard the perv scream and a gunshot. He is far away from the car, and is asking if anyone is in their. He notices a stream of blood leading from the car, and approaches it. Tom looks at the dead perv, and we get a sight of the dead perv with a gunshot wound which took off the top right of the guys forehead and his almost saw off neck. The cop looks over to the car with his flashlight, and we hear a car’s wheels screeching. The limousine, which was over at the wall of the garage, blasts off and runs OVER the cop, killing him. Tom finishes the sawing (no view) and puts it in the duffel bag. The driver opens his window and yells to leave the cop where he is. Tom conceals the gun in his pocket. He puts the bag besides the drivers door and enters the limousine.

The driver gets out and we hear him take the bag into his trunk and get back. Tom pulls out the gun and points it to the driver. He tells him to let him out now or he’ll blow his *****ing brains out. The driver smirks and asks Tom if he really thought he was this stupid. The driver says he thought he was crazy, but not stupid. Wrong assumption. The driver said that if he does get killed, Tom will have the gun, the saw, and the duffel bag with finger prints. Also, he was the guy in the limousine who called the orders, and it wouldn’t take long to pin him to the other crimes. The driver also says that’s if he shoots him. If you hold me up for too long, I’ll set off the bombs in the buildings, as well as 150 pounds worth of nitroglycerin in the trunk. Tom looks at the back, and looks at the driver in fear. The driver says Tom has the count of 3 to give him the gun. 1…2…Tom gives him the gun. Tom begins to feel hopeless and tells him that there is nothing that will redeem him, but the driver tells him that he will be saved.

The driver drives to his next destination, a small ramshackle crackhouse, where a pale man in a red hoody enters. The driver says he knows the next victim personally, as he went to high school with him. The guy was in the bad crowd, and developed a heroine addict as a junior. But he wasn’t kicked out of school until halfway into senior year, when he was convicted of raping a sophomore in the womans bathroom. He was still 17 and his lawyer got him off under insanity. He was “rehabilitated” but when he got out, it was back to heroine and rape again. He said he wants to stop the pattern now. He said rape is one of the harshest crimes against humanity, and that it always leaves a permanent scar, and now he would inflict the scars back on to the rapist. The driver said he is not in their for drugs, but a young woman who has the deed to the crackhouse. As the rapist walks out of the crackhouse, the driver instructs Tom to knock him out and bring him in the limousine. The gun will come in handy if he wakes up.

Tom leaves the limousine, and sees a crack addict following the rapist out, saying that he raped his sister and was going to kill the rapist. The rapist pulls out a switchblade and stabs the brother but is shot in the leg by Tom. The stabbed man dies and the rapist tries to get his knife back, but tom kicks the rapists head against the pavement with anger in his eyes. We start seeing Tom mature into a infuriated “angel” of sorts, as he is now doing what the driver says with pride. Tom takes the barely alive rapist over his shoulder and throws him in the car. The driver takes the bloody rag from before and tells tom to clean up the rapist. The raped woman comes out and sees her dead brother, a separate pile of blood, and tom entering the car with the rapist, and blows a kiss to him in thanks. We cut to the limousine to a desert-like plain, where a 5 foot deep grave has been dug already…with a human size burlap sack on top of it with something inside it. It is almost sunrise, as we can see partial light rising from the horizon. The driver tells him to take the rapist to the grave. He will instruct him from the car afterwards. By this point in the movie, we have seen only the drivers eyes, arms, and back. Tom drags the rapist to a grave and sees the sack. The driver tells him to open the bag and take out what is inside. Tom does, and finds a tank of gasoline and a lighter. Tom looks back at the car in horror. The driver said that Tom will put the rapist in the sack, cover it with gasoline, and burn him alive, therefore leaving the scars in which he had given to the people the man had raped.

Tom puts the man in the bag and ties it up. At this time, the rapist regains consciousness and begins to yell for help. Tom tells him he will not get help and does not deserve it as he pours gasoline. The rapist recognizes the smell and begs for his life. Tom tells him he is begging to the wrong person, and throws the lighter on the bag. Tom walks back to the limousine, as we see a fire rising from the grave and the rapist screaming. Tom enters the limousine with a solemn face. The driver asks him if it felt good, which Tom says yes. He tells Tom that he is opening his eyes and that he is becoming a soldier of god. He tells him there are 2 more stops to make and he will be free.

Thanks stoned. BTW, Here's is the final chapter:

Tom is sitting in the back, and the driver asks him about his high school. He said most people usually mature based on their high school years. He says he rode through most of high school on a golden horse, and he always demanded to be first. If he was not, he would make sure that the school budget would go down and hard. The driver asks if he has any regrets in High School. Tom says he should have taken it seriously, and if he had the chance he would go back in time and change what happened to the woman. The Driver commends him but reminds him that they have to still make 3 other stops.

The driver brings the limousine to a nice house in a residential area. Tom asks what there doing there and he says to look at the window. A woman and her husband are kissing in their living room. The driver says that woman just got home from a week long business trip to St. Louis. While she was there, she cheated on her husband 16 times with 7 different men. While sleeping with one of them, she contracted HIV and spread it to two others. The driver states she does not respect her fellow people, as she has ruined the lives of herself and two...soon to be three others. He asks tom if he reads books, which Tom says not recently. The driver tells Tom about John Hawthorne, and a book he wrote called "The Scarlet letter", about a woman who commited adultery against her husband and recieved an "A" burned apon her chest to show her sins. He tells Tom to give that woman a scarlet letter on her chest through a knife or a burn, and to tell the husband the womans actions. The driver gives the gun back to Tom, telling him to use it on the husband if he resists.

Tom gets out of the limousine and knocks on the door. No answer. Tom steps back and slams the door down. The husband walks over from the living room and asks who Tom is and what does he think he's doing? Tom punches the husband and throws him onto his porch. Tom walks into the living room and begins accusing the woman of her adultery. The woman tries running but Tom takes out his gun and points it at the woman. He tells her to get in the living room, when suddenly Tom is tackled from behind by the husband. The husband gets a firepoker and hits tom in the ribs. Tom couths up some blood while the husband freaks out at Tom for talking about his wife and punching him. The husband raises the fire poker to stab Tom, when Tom gets the gun and shoots the man in the kneecap. The husband falls down holding his bleeding knee. Tom points the gun at the woman and tells her to confess to keep her life. She does and begins to cry, as her husband does. He tells her to get on her knees and to stay put. Tom sees the fireplace, and no sees no firepoker to make a scarlet letter. He looks at the kitchen and finds a small sharp knife. Tom reenters the living room and tells the woman to take off her shirt. She does and he takes the knife and tells her what hes gonna do. If she resists, he'll dig the blade right in her chest. She asks him if he has remorse, but Tom says she is a whore and she will be punished for her infidelity. Tom takes the knife and carves the A into her breast as the screaming woman drops to the floor and puts her shirt on her wound to stop bleeding. Tom brings the knife with him and leaves the house.

Tom gets back into the limousine and gives the driver the gun and knife. The driver said he is astounded at how well Tom is taking this. Tom thanks the driver. The driver asks for what, and Tom replies for helping him find his way. The driver said he says he did nothing, it was all Tom's actions and that Tom deserves all the credit. Tom says when he is done, if the driver needs anything to come to him. The driver said the offer is nice but he doubts it will happen.

The driver brings Tom to his next stop, outside a police station. It is now 6 or 7 in the morning. A pale, skinny, scruffy guy comes out with a young friend. The driver says that the man with the 5 o clock shadow is a drug addict whose done it all. He said that 3 days ago that man decided to shoot heroine and then go out to buy some band aids. He ran over a 12 year old kid, who suffered brain damage and is now barely alive in the hospital. The druggie continued his way and didn't get caught until cops found blood on his car while he was at a deli the following day. It looks like he was just released on bail.

He follows the drug addicts back to a park. A man drops off a book bag in which they pick up and give the man money in exchange. The driver said that dealer just gave them more drugs than they paid for. Thats because the driver paid for them. He tells Tom to gollow them to their small apartment and to overdose the drug addict. He said that he nearly took the life away of a child with his recklessness, and now he will feel the pain. Tom leaves the limousine and follows the drug dealers. They go up to the apartment, as Tom slowly follows. The dealers get to their apartment and lock the door, as they are acting suspicious. Tom get to the door and begins to pick the lock. Tom is about to open the door when the landlord shows up. He says his friends accidentally locked him out and the landlord opens the door, and tells him to watch out since the druggies are trouble makers.

Tom enters the drug dealers really broken down apartment (think "sloth" in Se7en), and he finds a beer bottle. He picks it up and sees the druggies making the heroine in their kitchen. He comes up behind the scruffy one and hits him with the bottle. It breaks and the man falls down unconscious. The young one rushes at him with a syringe but Tom shanks the broken bottle into the mans throat, killing him. Tom sees the rope they use to cut off circulation and tires up the unconscious man. We OPEN to Tom sitting next to the druggie. He asks him about what decisions the druggie COULD have made to avoid this situation from happening: Not get involved with drugs, graduate high school, get a job, and not get into a car high on heroine and hit a *****ing kid. He tells him he's gonna kill him with his own juice, and it'll look like an overdose, and the druggie will get blamed for his friends murder. He asks for any last words, and not please don't do this because he's heard it before. The druggie tells Tom to go ***** himself and tom puts a gag on the druggie and jabs a syringe full of heroine in the druggie's shoulder. He presses it in and then takes another preparated needle into the druggies leg. He presses it in and the druggie pukes, which goes past his gag. The man takes another needle and puts it in the mans jugglar, which start to make the man convulse. He takes one last needle and shoves it into the mans chest, above his heart. The mans veins begin to show as he convulses violently, and begins to bleed out of his mouth, nose, and ears. The man begins to quiet down...and die. The man removes the needles and washes off the print. He walks out of the apartment and tells the landlord everythings fine and to check on them in an hour or two.

Tom gets back to the limousine outside the park and tells the driver to make his final stop. The driver drives over to the next corner and then goes straight...right in front of the pub which Tom was going to. The driver gives tom back his wallet and "his" gun. He tells him he has one of two choices. The first is that Tom can leave the car, call the police, and spend the rest of his day describing what happened. The driver then hands Tom a list of phone numbers with company and building names. The second is to call those buildings and evacuate all in them in one hours time. If he does, he will have redemption. Tom asks the driver whats going on, and the driver says he has to make his final stop. He tells Tom to leave, but first tom asks for the drivers name. "The name is Casy. Jim Casy. Take care, tom." The driver hands Tom back the cell phone and Tom leaves. He opens his cell phone, which has been charging in the drivers charger, and calls the buildings one by one, tellign them to evacuate and that bombs are going off soon. We see various images of people running, the driver driving and the man calling. We hear this voice over from the driver during this montage:

"A wise man once said, 'Sometimes, a man must experience the most horrible in life to save himself.' And as i sit here, i wonder what will become of Tom, because i know he will remember this night forever, and whether he hides it in his mind or will take it as an inspiration is up to him. It was Jesus Christ who once said, "Do unto others as others will do unto you.' He was a wise man."

AT this point, we stay with the Driver, as he is now in front of an evacuated wall street, revving his engine.

"Do i believe what i did was sane? No. Do i believe what i did was fair? No. Did i believe what i did was right? maybe. But did i have to do it?"

The driver takes off. We see him holding the detonator for the buildings.

"Absolutely"

We get a quick flash of the drivers face as he crashes into wall street and sets off all the bombs.

We cut to Tom who sees a breaking news story of the senate building having been attacked on a TV store outlet's TV. Tom looks at himself, and sees the gun in his hand. He slowly looks at it...examines it...and puts it in his mouth.

CUT TO BLACK. GUNSHOT

We cut to a smoking gun hit the side of the street. We see Tom looking at a TV which he just shot. He kicks the gun into a sewer and walks off into the pub, as 2 police cars go rushing past him to get to NYC, as we sees fire and smoke rising from the city's buildings....

FADE EXIT OF NYC IN FLAMES

THE END.

Sounds good. I think one thing you should do is give Tom a family. Have him talking to his wife and kid before he goes to work and gets his one millionth sale. Then afterwards show him partying then leave, and call his wife and tell him he'll be right home. I think if you put the wife in it every now and then, it would make him appear more innocent than he is. You want the viewers to be rooting for Tom, but respect the Driver, kind of like in Phonebooth.

Other than that i have a few minor critiques, like i dont think the driver should die at the end, but thats about it, nice job. Oh and the driver should be played by Gary Sinise, he would do good at that role. Just my thoughts.

Its your story and all, dont think im trying to change it, but i just think if you want Tom to come off innocent then you should show him doing innocent thing in the beginning with his innocent family. I dont think the driver should die, because once you find out WHY he is doing it the audience wont neccesarily hate the character; and they wont want him to die. Like i said, my opinion, not trying to change anything.

Here i'll explain it:

- Tom is innocent at first, and we feel for him...but as the film develops, he matures sort of.

- Here's the explanation for the driver. This is a big reference to the book "The Grapes Of Wrath", as his name is Jim Casey (Initials), who is able to change a mans life through his acts and SACRIFICES himself for the world.
