Ok I know it’s a little early but, I know how popular Tatrantino is around this board. Lots of information is already available on this upcoming movie. Lets use this thread to post all available info.

Plot Summary: Set in World War 2, Tarantino's story revolves around group of soldiers on their way to be executed, only they get the chance for a reprievel. He describes them as "Not your normal hero types that are thrown into a big deal in World War II." This is the only information he will release at present.
---------------------------------------------------
Cast and Crew for
Inglorious Bastards (2006)
Directed by
Quentin Tarantino
Writing credits
Quentin Tarantino
Cast:
Michael Madsen .... Babe Buchinsky
-------------------------------------------------------------
Here is an recent interview with Tarantino about the film:
Q. You've got the script written for Inglorious Bastards - what's your take on WWII? Obviously it will be different from anything we've seen before.
A. It'll have a very epic feel. It'll be my take on the sociological battlefield at that time with the racism and barbarism - on both sides. On the Nazi side and the American side and the black soldiers and Jewish soldiers and Nazis and the French, because it all takes place in France.
Q. Is it just after D-Day?
A. Yeah, depending on exactly how I end up finally structuring it but there are sequences that happen before D-Day - I'll have little things like 'One Year After Occupation', and 'Four Months After Occupation. 'Two years Before Occupation' - that kind of thing, but the thrust of the story will happen after D-Day.
Q. Are you shooting it in Spain?
A.I don't know where I'm going to shoot it. We'll figure out where I'm going to shoot it when I'm 100 per cent go on it. The other thing about it is, again, it'll kind of be my spaghetti western too. It's the one time in the 20th Century where that almost kind of spaghetti western, barren no man's land, landscape happened with the Nazis taking over countries.
Q. It sounds like Kelly's Heroes...
A.Kelly's Heroes is a real lark. I never felt like it was that much of a spaghetti western, it was more of a caper film. I want it to be more like what The Good, The Bad And The Ugly was to the civil war.
---------------------------------------------------
So far Michael Madsen has been casted but, apparently Tarantino wants to cast Adam Sandler. Why? I don't know
Madsen's character is named Babe Buchinsky as an homage to Charles Bronson, who costarred in many WWII films (The Great Escape, The Dirty Dozen, etc.), playing characters similar to the one Madsen will play.
----------------------------------------------------
I'll post pics when they are available.

As good as this movie sounds, I read in Maxim Goes to the Movies in a Madsen interview, that Tarantino had found a way to make The Vega Brothers movie work.

I hope so. A vega bros. movie would kick arse!

I would be really happy if Steve Buscemi was in this. since he is a "Tarantino" actor, there is a good chance he might be. And like Tarantino said, these guys arent your average war movie heroes. Buscemi of course isnt the handsome soldier portrayed in most movies. He'd make a bad ass soldier.
Hmm... I wonder which actor he'll bring back from obscurity for this one.
Perhaps one of the original Dirty Dozen and star of numerous blaxploitation exploits, Jim Brown.
Mr. Blonde1

Corey Feldman lol

Yeah, I would watch that.

i don't like how QT is using Madsen in every movie. its getting odd. he should get someone new. he's an ok actor but nothing special to me. he should move on with someone else, this is gettin boring.

There is a rumor that the movie will be split up into 3 parts or volumes. I don’t think this is true because I have heard the script is a little over five hundred pages. I really doubt that you can make three movies with 500 pages unless they are very, very short.

Oh well, was just saying that Madsen was kinda QT's Charles Bronson, and that it's quite logical he uses him to play a character that's a hommage to Bronson. Besides, Madsen rules as Mr Blonde and Budd. What scene do people think of when they think about Reservoir Dogs? The torture scene, Mr Blonde. So yeah, criticize some of QT's poseur tricks, maybe. Madsen, it's just silly.

The critic went to QT, not Madsen. He's good as an actor. I don't mind if he casts Madsen in his next movie, i'm not hyped about his films anyway. I think it would be just better if he'd cast someone else instead, someone who wasn't on screen for long time, like he did with Carradine and Chiba, that was something i like about QT. And since i realy am no big fan of Madsen i don't mind seeing him never again.

I am VERY excited about this one. When Quentin goes epic it is good indeed. I love Quentin and every movie he writes and directs is pure gold. I'm sure this will be 5 in a row for him. I'm not sure why he wants Adam Sandler though?
I'd rather see Quentin make Inglorious Bastards than the Vega Brothers. I'm sure that VB would/will be cool but IB just sounds like such a great concept for QT.
P.S. Anyone know when the Kill Bill double DVD set will be released? I'm holding out for it.

Adam asked QT to appear in Little Nicky and Quentin was invited to Adam's wedding. QT and Sandler are buddies so thats probably why Tarantino is putting him in.

IB is gonna be the best war trilogy ever, and for every IB movie that comes out if there is three they should be the best of that year and god quentin needs a best director oscar someday i know he got screenplay with avary but he needs another. also he needs buscemi in the war movie, that would look cool, and keitel, i can imagine almost anybody in the war movie except sandler, it doesnt make sense, but hey, wut can you do. and if he makes a vol. 3 i will find him and kill him. i will be the first one to see kill bill as a whole and i will be the first to reserve the box set or wutever they are doing and i will be the first to pick it up omg im ubsessesed HE IS A GOD>!!!

Before, when you were talking about The Vega Brothers, I mention that I am writing a fan script for the vega brothers. It also links ALL of tarantino's flicks, and is set in 1991 (and for it to work, Reservoir Dogs comes before Pulp Fiction, so hold on to that thought). It's about 5 Northeast crime bosses ( Marcellus Wallace,The Cabots (Nice Guy Eddie Primarily since RIP Tierney), Blue Lou Boyle and Vincenzo Coccotti, Bill and the Divas (I found a way to work it), and a character family i created Named the Powers and Krystal crime family), who after finding out someones been selling poison cocaine, make a bet where those who lost would have to leave New York/New Jersey for ever and leave the crime accordingly to the one family (If you know you're tarantino, you'll know who wins). Wallace calls upon the Vega brothers to find out who did it for him, but they end up getting framed so it looks like they've been selling the fatal coke, so they end up on the lam as well. The Jackie Brown connection is Ray Nicolette and it does have the return of Seth Gecko. There is alot of explanation for Tarantino fans that i have written in or plan to write:
-Why Vince Vega doesn't watch TV anymore.
-Why Vic Vega hates cops so much
-How Marcellus Wallace got that band-aid on the back of his head.
-How Jules knows Jimmie
etc.
And by the way, what's been written already is very good, and its very violent as well, and the ending which i am getting to is going to involve not one not two but THREE major shoot outs. I hope one day eventually i can somehow get it in QT's hands. Eventually.
PS- Theres another Vic Vega torture scene for the kids out there.

That isn't always true. It depends on the person's writing style. Some writers are more specific and put in more details then others. To put it in other words: some writers actually write one minute per page, while others are very vague and can put like 5 minutes of screentime on one page. It depends on the writer.

Tarantino is also reported to have bought the rights to reproduce a B-movie by another of his heroes, Enzo Castellari, with Samuel Jackson and George Clooney tipped to star in the remake of his 1977 Second World War comedy, Inglorious Bastards.
Clooney and Jackson in IB? That's news to me. This article paragraph is probably wrong though because Tarantino's IB is NOT a remake and not a comedy.
We'll see if this gets debunked.
Aztec
09-07-2004, 09:12 PM
Yeah QT has stated that it is NOT a remake of the original. Although, I'm sure that Samuel Jackson WILL find his way into this movie somehow ;). He was in all of QT's films except Resevoir Dogs, and he was supposed to be in that film. Instead they replaced him with a Samuel L. Jackson clone (even though he wasn't known then).
Sandler is great in Punch-Drunk Love...Inglorious Bastards would not be the first dramatic movie he's made...
If Going Overboard wasn't dramatic... well... I just don't know what is...

Well, supposedly this movie is back on track.
here's Madsen and Tarantino on the project:
Film Focus talked to Michael Madsen who will star in Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards, about a platoon of World War II soldiers trapped behind enemy lines. He says that Tarantino might split the movie up into several parts like he did for the two "Kill Bill" films.
"He's got an interesting idea of how to make it. I think he's going to cut it up into a couple of different parts, 'cos it's a big story to tell and he doesn't want to cram it all into one show. I don't know the whole story of how he's going to do it but eventually we'll get there, you know," said Madsen.
With such a huge cast planned for the film - everyone from Adam Sandler to Sly Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger has been mooted for a role - it'd make sense to slice it into two I guess, so the big-wigs all get ample screen time. Then again, how cheesed were we when "Kill Bill" was chopped down the middle?
Tarantino earlier this month commented on the movie as well. "My next film is probably going to be Inglorious Bastards, yeah. I've written scenes. I've written a lot of it but now I have to sit down and start putting it together in a script that I can start shooting. And that's a different thing," he said.

Stallone would be QT's latest reclamation project. With this film, rumors are going to pop up that would involve anybody who's done a film with Tarantino. Mickey Rouke would be good in this film, as would Stallone.

Michael Madsen has spilled the beans on Inglorious Bastards. Apparently, the script is complete, and filming is supposed to begin later this year.
Madsen also dropped a few names as folks already cast:
Michael Madsen (of course)
Adam Sandler (long rumored - QT and he are pals)
Tim Roth (first I've heard, but not suprising
Eddie Murphy (say what?)
I certainly didn't see Eddie Murphy coming, and considering he's done pretty much nothing but kids movies for the past few years I figured he'd taken himself out of the serious movie game. But, I think he's actually a great choice. Because of his stand-up comedy roots, he's great at the kind of on-screen conversational banter that QT loves to write.

Rumours, bulldust, lies, crapskie....that's what Director Quentin Tarantino says of the whispers that he's already asked big names like Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger to be in his upcoming WWII movie "Inglorious Bastards". Um, yes, we knew that.
"No, I never said that. I'm a big fan of both those guys, but all that is just rumors. All these casting things that everyone's been saying is just complete speculation", Tarantino tells MTV.
QT, who says Michael Madsen is the only confirmed cast member at this stage, is still writing the film. "I've got a big portion of it done," he says, "I've been waiting for all the 'Kill Bill' stuff to be over with, and then to maybe chill on it a little bit, and then [get] ready to finish writing it. ... I have like five years of writing behind me now, and I just need to add one more year to it."
After that, Tarantino says he may do the long-awaited "Pulp Fiction" spin-off, "The Vega Brothers" starring John Travolta and Michael Madsen.
"I could do it," Tarantino, who also plans a "Kill Bill 3", said. "I've actually figured out a way, even though the characters have gotten older, to do it. I just have to have the ambition to write it."

I'm still really iffy on the whole idea of Tarantino directing a war film but i'm in complete shock about 'The Vega Brothers'. I hope that gets done.

His transition to a Kung Fu film was fantastic. I don't have any doubts as of yet, until he fails, which I don't believe he has yet.

I would rather see Inglorious Bastards first, but the Vega Brothers film could be well done.

So let's see, Quentin is currently "working on":
1) Kill Bill 3
2) an unnamed anime film
3) Inglorious Bastards
4) Vega Brothers
5) an unnamed kung foo film
6) Jason 12
7) a horror flick about a killer car
So in other words...we can expect NOTHING from him for another 7 years. It's a shame that the most talented director in Hollywood..can't make an F'n movie!

He may be working on a few different movies, however, that doesn't mean that isn't focused on just one.

Isn't Tarantino "rumored" to be involved in just about everything nowadays?

Isn't number 7 the movie Christine? Hopefully they won't be too similar.
Sly, Arnie, & Willis would be craziness! But I doubt that Arnie would commit to something like that.
Are these in order? If so, Kill Bill 3 is probably much closer to the bottom of that list.
I hope he only goes through with 'The Vega Brothers' and 'The Inglorious Bastards' for now.

Just something else to chew on about Inglorious Bastards. Movies Online has a first hand report that Michael Madsen said the script runs about 6 hours so we are probably looking at another split movie, ala Kill Bill.
