Midway Games will next week announce that it is in development with a GameCube version of Mortal Kombat: Deception. The title is slated to hit Nintendo's console in the first half of next year, according to company executives.

Mortal Kombat: Deception, the sixth console installment in Midway's fast-paced, gory fighting franchise, takes the series to new heights thanks to an impressive new game engine that enables more realistic graphics, hand-to-hand combat and weapons, four unique gameplay modes and more. Deception is also set to be the goriest sequel in Mortal Kombat history, in part due to interactive environments that can literally slice and dice opponents to pieces.
The GameCube version of Deception will be a perfect port of the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions, which are scheduled to release this October. However, it will not feature online play, as the other builds will. A Midway spokesperson revealed to IGN that the company will add two new, exclusive features to the GCN incarnation in place of online play.

I for one am glad he it wasn't put in the MK thread since I don't bother with it and might get this game for the Cube. But by the time it comes out I'll be at uni and won't have any money so I guess we'll see.

i did search for it, didn't bother with it. According the article, there are two new features added to the Gamecube because it doesn't support online gaming, so, i'd say that this thread is uniquer.

The other one is the thread for all MK stuff, we dont know the features, the article just says they are there, so there is nothing unique about this thread, its just information which could have easily gone in an already existing thread.

Well, since the Gamecube edition is delayed after many months after the release of the XBOX and the PS2 version, than i think this is alright for this thread to remain open, because for some reason, Midway leaves the GAMECUBE owners far behind. The Gamecube edition will be release next year, while non gamecube owners will experience the game in two months. Is that fair. So, i say have the thread open for the Gamecube owners to discuss the Gamecube version, since it is different from the editions that will be release on XBOX and PS2

the other thread will remain open for the editions that will come out in two months, October. And no, it won't be the same information, because for the rest of the upcoming months, people will be discussing the PS2 and the XBOX editions, while the Gamecube owners will have to wait next year. So, this thread will be for them to discuss their edition, which again, will have 2 different features. If we discuss those features on the other thread, than they wont' be fairly discussed, because there are more XBOX and PS2 owners in the other thread. Get it. Now stop arguing

No, because there is no point in it, the other thread will remain open and this one should be closed, the other one has been discussing the game for a while now, this one is new and has no point, well according to you it is for the GC owners, but as I have said, every game that is released on different platforms does not get an individual thread for a different console..Why is this one different?

Sheesh...Come on man, at least try to not be a hyporcite, someone goes into the Superman forum and posts some info that is new that could have gone into a thread you made and had been inactive for a little while (The MK thread was only inactive for about 12 days, hardly long forgotten, it was on page 2..:rolleyes: ) you would be all over them complaining that it could have gone in your thread.

No, everyone discusses the same topic in the same thread because its easier, so what if you have to wait? What stops you talking in the current thread? There will actually be nothing to talk about as the game would have been released on the other consoles, all you could talk about are the 2 extra game modes, which do not need there own thread soley to discuss.
