Help Please...

Okay, I just bought the Warcraft III: Battlechest and I am currently trying to install it, well I come into thise error over and over again, I don't get it. I have taken screen shots of it and here they are... I am on a PC but it says in the error (Mac) for some reason, there is no options of what to install or anything like that I don't believe. Here are the screen shots...

hmmm....i don't have a clue about what might be wrong but is the CD scratched uP?


maybe you have a faulty disc but i doubt it.

Well... Do the obvious thing, is the disc in the CD drive when you're trying to install this part of it?

Yes it is in.

There is only one disc to install, well there is one other but it is a seperate game that you install after the first.

Personally with the error that you are getting, it looks like a problem with something in your registry that is messing up the whole process. The game might need a certain file to help run it that it cannot find in the registry which causes the installation to stall. Could even be a deleted DLL that you need but it should have said something a little more about it, I would think.

Hmmm, I don't know, I am going to return it today and if the problem persists when I get the new one then I will have to somehow contact Blizzard Tech Support.

Are you sure it is a PC disc and not a Mac disc?

Also do your windows always look like that?.... I only say this because the warcraft windows look more like Mac OS X than WindowsXP.

Have you tried copying the disc onto your harddrive and running the install program from there?

Yeah they do, it is a style XP... it looks like a Mac but isn't one at all, and yes all the windows look like Mac OSX. I have checked if I got the Mac disk isntead but I learned the disk is for both Windows and Mac and there are no particular disks for just macs or for just Windows. So I am not sure what to do, I just gotta wait until I get this returned I suppose.

Yeah, I did that and it pretty much is the samd exact thing and just happened the same.

Nevermind, I returned the game and well.... IT WORKS FINE NOW! Yes, I am very happy now. Thanks to all that gave there time to help me.
