There is an hour and a half of deleted scenes from this movie. According to an Anchorman article before the movie came out, the first cut was 3 hours long.

i actually got to go to the first screening of the movie, or so we were told, and while i know cuz im a noob a lot of people wont believe me, the version in theatres now is way different from the version we saw. I'll point out a few things and go into more as i remember them

-The Dream Sequence (Pleasure Land) the Love Panda was cut, but i dont actually know what this was supposed to look like as it was all green screen in the version we saw. Will Ferrell made a funny remark when the dream sequence ends where she says Was it good for you too? and he goes yeah, but i dont know about the Love panda (it doesn't sound funny,but will makes it funny)

-The Flute Scene: This was pretty much the same except before it ends Will goes on the ground and starts dancing while lying down and playing. He does the thing where you lie down and run in a circle (don't know if theres a term for it) it was really funny

-Panda Watch Stuff
all gone, this is what pissed me off the most about the new movie. The 'problem' in the cut we saw was theres a group of bank robbers ( i think thats what they were it doesnt really matter) called the alarm clock. They rob banks, and no one knows who they are until veronica figures it out and tells will (She finds it out at the cat fashion show because the guy who heads the group works at a pet shop). After she tells him he rounds up the gang, excluding her, and they go to the guys house. This had one of the funniest lines in the movie, and would have been one of the biggest quotes, where Will goes "were here to ... RIP THE LID OFF" (and he runs right up to the camera)
They interview the guy who's the head of alarm clock and ask him if he's the secret head of the group. The guy says no and then asks to go to the bathroom, while they wait youhear the sound of the news fan screech off and will goes, i uh, think he just stole the van.
The alarm clock kidnaps veronica and takes her to the observatory. Will and the group go to save her. This is where champs 'coming out' scene originally was and it was pretty bad. the version in the final cut is ok, but the version in the first cut was really bad. Then the group gets lost somehow and winds up in the woods. There is a kinda funny scene where they think that their lost and decide to eat one of their own. and when they're closing in on brian fantana you can see macdonalds and 7 11 and other places int eh background.
i forget why they decide not to eat him but they then go to the observatory, there was some funny stuff there but i just cant remember all of it. Similar to the final cut, the gang has to be quiet and instead will is really loud so they gang ties them up. they get free somehow and fight with the robbers (and the scene is filled with batman 'kapows' and 'bams') then the robbers are about to shoot veronica and will jumps and takes the bullet. this had the funniest random exclamation of the whole movie, cuz once it hits he yells "Spiderman's Balls!!!."
They tie the robbers up, and ambulance comes and takes will to the news station (im pretty sure thats where they went) he gets out and all the people are there. He says hey, everyone loves him again, vince vaughn does the dammit i respect you thing, but then, and this is where the orignial cut was the best, a random dog, like a doberman walks by and will yells Baxter and runs over and hugs it.
Then he says really funny stuff like Baxter where were you... Mexico, thats great, Acapulco? even better. THen he and the dog walk off into the sunset. and it ends

-Opening: in the opening there wasn't a long voiceover, it was the same footage though, except when you see will foot go down
it cuts to him walking down the street and some funny stuff happens, a guy is putting up a flag and drops it and will jumps to get it before it hits the ground. A woman walks by and he slaps her ass and goes hey i like that fanny.

-Small thing: instead of going milk was a bad choice he goes, I'm so thirsty... Why did i get milk.

Damn that was long, i know i forgot a few things but we saw this cut in november, im assuming the reason it came out in july was because they had to shoot at the panda stuff though i dont know why they kept it with what they had as everyone loved it. I know theres some more stuff i forgot and i ll try and put it up if i remember it, but i hope more then anything that the original cut gets put out on dvd

yeah there was alot cut out was the scene from the comerscails were ron goes "oh burgendy is down and it is bad" i wasnt sure if it was there or i just missed it

I dont see why the hostile attitude at this thread.

I was thinking the same thing after I saw it. If they are going to delete a lot of scenes, that cool and all, but why show that many clips from the movei when they are all taken out.
