What are your thoughts on this band? Personally I think they're one of the best bands to come around lately. Great guitar work and unusual vocals. I love the sound.

If you like the singels they have released get the album. It's called Permission to Land, and it's one of the best cds to come out in a long time.

Yeah, they are awesome. I got their CD before they became popular in the US and I really liked them. Then, I found out that 98 Rock, my favorite local radio station, was the first station in the country to play them. That's why they do a lot of shows here and in D.C.

Better than most bands that are out, of course you can't compare them to the great rock bands but they're good compared to today's music (even though I think the vocalist is one of the worst I've ever heard). My fav song is Friday Night, way cool song.

The Darkness did make a good first album but whether they can continue with their careers with making silly yet cool sounding songs about nothing, remains to be seen

They are great, but they are essentially a novelty band. More of a tribute to people like Led Zeppelin than anything.

Is this because the voice is high-pitched, or rather because you are insecure with your sexuality?

I love these newer bands like The Darkness, and Jet as someone else mentioned, that sort of mimick the sounds of the 70s/80s. However, I don't quite think they're some of the best around right now. You have to give everything a chance, I say.

By the way, you can check the South off on my "to bomb" list. It's been confirmed.
