Kelly's grandfather owned a hotel in Hawaii and invited the gang to visit for a summer vacation. He was being pressured to sell the hotel to a large chain until they stepped in as the staff and saved it from a buy out. It was called the "The Hawaiian Hideaway."

Jessi's dad was married at a resort in Palm Springs. They never worked there. Lisa's parents were members of The Malibu Sands Beach Club where they worked for a summer.
