King Kong shooting on HD?

It has been reported in New Zealand's ONFILM magazine the Peter Jackson and LOTR D.O.P Andrew Lesnie are testing out new 24p HD cameras for use on King Kong. It also reported but I dont know how much of this to believe that they also tested a 3D lens out????:confused:

HD is finally coming into its own...it's really exciting! I hope they do...it'll further pave the way for its entry into the really mainstream (i.e. outside the 2 major directors, Luca$ and Rodriguez, who use it now) so that hopefully the camera prices go down a few (dozen) grand so gimps like me can afford one.

Also it'll make the huge effects work easier.
