I'm gonna make this as brief as i can so you can read it quickly and then race to the video shop and rent this gem of a film. Its another mockumentary made by the same men behind This Is Spinal Tap and Best In Show (them being Christopher Guest and crew). The story is of a tribute gig to a folk music legend who recently died, the gig reunites many musicians as they prepare for the concert. Trust me, it is really brilliant! To think that part were heavily improvised is a great credit to the comedians involved (who include Eugene Levy). If i was to complain about one thing in this film it would be that sometimes the editing loses the documentary feel, which takes something away from it. Anyway, i'm curious to know what other people thought of this movie.....
I liked it, but I liked Best In Show better.
There were some funny parts to this movie. The press conference at City Hall (I think that's were it was) cracked me up. And the blonde hair woman's story upon leading up to her being involved in folk music was funny as hell, especially watching the guy's facial motions.

I thought the "Kiss at the end of the Rainbow" is a sweet song. And Old Joe's Place is pretty funny/good too.
Really though, his funniest movie is Waiting for Guffman. If you guys are fans watch this baby, it's frickin hilarious!

The quotes that cracked me up the most though.
"To do then now would be retro. To do then then was very now-tro, if you will."
"You could say she (a mom) was overly protective - I just like to think she cared about me, which she did, a lot. And I was a member of the chess team and whenever we would have chess tournaments I had to wear a protective helmet, I had to wear a football helmet. Now who knows what she was thinking? Maybe she thought that we might have fallen maybe and impaled our heads on a pointy bishop or something, I don't know. "
