The release date has been shifting.
I want to see it, but I hope I didn't already figure out the ending.

I think its one of those films like Hero where everyone who wants to see it will have seen it before it even comes out.

"Despite watching and knowing that "everyone is a suspect" and being very familiar with the genre myself, I still had a hard time trying to pin down who is responsible for the films gruesome murders as it rolls along"
i agree
number of ppl alone on an island and then murders begin.. not predictible , i loved it

The ending ahs been changed several times, so its not being released until late this fall. Here's some spoilers...
The way people die:
Val Kilmer: Stabbed in Body with multiple syringes and dangled like puppet.
Christian Slater: Frozen and broken in half.
Will Kemp: Drained of all his blood when the group is knocked out.
Eion Bailey: Impaled in the neck with arrows.
Patricia Velazquez: Smokes an acid cigarette.
Clifton Collins Jr.: Killed by tampered gun ricochet.
Ending #1: Johnny Lee Millers character is the killer, He kills all the people except for LL Cool J and The main chick because his family was murdered and all the F.B.I. did was offer him gum as a reconciliation. In this ending, LL kills him and him and the chick leave on a helicopter
Ending #2: JLM is the killer. He kills everyone except for LL and the chick. in this ending he drowns after he is shot by the chick in the pool. The two leave on the helicopter, and they cut to the ambulance. The body bag begins to move.
Ending # 3: JLM starts actign freaky, and is killed when Sara, the main chick, thinks he is the kiler and fights her and LL Cool J. Gabe (Cool J) and Sara leave on a helicopter, and they see Lucas's body put into an ambulance. As the helicopter flies away, they put attention on the ambulance. The driver starts the ambulance and it explodes. Before credits roll, Gabe and Sara are at an office, where they say Lucas (JLM)was the killer. The F.B.I. says it's not possible since Lucas had gotten compensation at age 19 when his parents killers were found and tried. Then, Sarah has a flashback, and he was wearing Harris's coat. When a person shows up with the list of the bodys found, Harris (Kilmer) is not listed, so he was the killer all along. The movie ends with Harris showing up, putting away a Harris syringe dummy, and greeting a new set of mindhunters.
enjoy.

Yep, it's going straight to video. The studio doesn't have much confidence that it would do well in theaters anymore.

well that's nuts... You'd think some of the films stars would have something to say about that.. Val, Christian, LL...
what I also hope doesn't happen is that the film gets some threadbare release in a few cities, to "justify" having a theatrical release...

This movie WREAKS of a 1996 era film...does this film have anythign original to say? I think we pretty much have the serial killer genre covered.
Also, too bad that Val Kilmer became a straigh to video guy like Stallone.

NEWS UPDATE!
Christian Slater, Val Kilmer, Jonny Lee Miller, LL Cool J, and Clifton Collins Jr. are all protesting the release of Mindhunters straight to DVD by asking their fans to write letters to Dimension as they are doing everything they can to get the film in theaters. As of now, Renny Harlin is in negotiations to get the film a limited release due to a contract clause. Kilmer, Harlin, and Kathryn Morris have threatened to sue Dimension if the film is not in theaters, and Harlin even said he would enter the film in next years Cannes film festival and seek other distribution if it comes to that (if he did, he would have to repay the 40 million dollar budget to Dimension, Intermedia and Miramax).
- From Renny Harlin's reps to Fangoria; to be printed next month.

it's not a bad movie...and it does have excellent death scenes...my only missive, Val Kilmer was in it for like 10 minutes - not that that's a problem, but wasn't he one of the supposed "main actors"

As i post in about 3 other mindhunters threads, the company filmed an extra 12 minutes to further develop Slater and Kilmer's characters.

If those endings weren't lies, then I much prefer the first two to the last ending, although there are some good elements to it. The part I don't like is how, as it looks in the trailers, Val Kilmer turns out to be the bad guy, ala some other movies I can think of but can't name because that would spoil them.
In any case, this only looks so good...and I hate Renny Harlin. But maybe I'll see it.

Why does Renny Harlin seem to be getting the shaft lately, first with THE EXORCIST: THE BEGINNING and now with MINDHUNTERS, gezze give the guy a break! I know he is not the best director but come on DEEP BLUE SEA was kinda good... right?
