How could you not have gone to see the Indy movies when they were first released? I remember going to see Raiders during its opening week. Of course, I was only about 4 years old, so I didn't quite catch all of what was going on, but I still enjoyed it. And I went back to see it again at least two more times.
Let's see...
When the first two came out, I wasn't born. When The Last Crusade came out, I was only 4. I was far more interested in cartoons.

I rarely go to the movies because I live in a small town 30 miles away from the nearest theater and my job takes up most of my time. That's why I buy lots of DVDs through mail order. Hooray for DVDs. :applaud:
I'm wondering in Temple of Doom why the villian (can't recall his name right now) didn't pull Willie Scott's heart out of her chest when she was strapped into the cage, like he did to that one guy and later tried to do to Indy on the bridge. I'm thinking it could be because she's female. Anyone know?

I was 9 when Crusade came out so that's the only one I would have had a chance to see in the theaters, but I wasn't into it then. I remember a girl on my school bus talking about eating monkey brains in Temple of Doom and it freaked me out :) I didn't see Raiders until much later when it was on tv and then I was hooked.

Hmmm... OK, gnarley downs a large bottle of Scotch in less than a minute ( ala John Belushi in Animal House) then blacks out. He awakens 3 days later in a field with a splitting headache, no shoes or shirt, a blackeye, broken nose, split lip, his head completely shaven including eyebrows, spotches of lipstick and lipprints smeared all over his face, bruises all over his body, multiple piercings and tattoos that he didn't have before, stains from an expoded dye pack over his left hand, forearm and side, hundred dollar bills also stained laying around him along side a bag of possibly stolen diamonds and no memory of the proceeding events.
Guess I'll stick with the milkshakes. :D Hope you enjoy yours Garnet.;)

Noooo! Gnarley's an Alchoholic now.:p
Seriously, I like everything(even Country), but I'm listening to a lot of rock lately. I don't buy cd's--lack of funds--but I do listen to the radio.
Rightnow, I like stuff from:
Slipknot
Velvet Revolver
Jet
Skillet
Oh, and on the Rap side of things, I like Kanye west.
Oh let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to fill my dream
I am a traveler of both time and space, to be where I have been
To sit with elders of the gentle race, this world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait and all will be revealed
Talk and song from tongues of lilting grace, whose sounds caress my ear
But not a word I heard could I relate, the story was quite clear
Oh, oh.
Oh, I been flying... mama, there ain’t no denyin’
I’ve been flying, ain’t no denyin’, no denyin’
All I see turns to brown, as the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand, as I scan this wasted land
Trying to find, trying to find where I’ve been.
Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace, like thoughts inside a dream
Heed the path that led me to that place, yellow desert stream
My shangri-la beneath the summer moon, I will return again
Sure as the dust that floats high and true, when movin’ through kashmir.
Oh, father of the four winds, fill my sails, across the sea of years
With no provision but an open face, along the straits of fear
Ohh.
When I’m on, when I’m on my way, yeah
When I see, when I see the way, you stay-yeah
Ooh, yeah-yeah, ooh, yeah-yeah, when I’m down...
Ooh, yeah-yeah, ooh, yeah-yeah, well I’m down, so down
Ooh, my baby, oooh, my baby, let me take you there
Let me take you there. let me take you there

Hm, I've never been injured that seriously, fortunately. My horse has stepped on my toes several times, and while it really hurt, it didn't break anything :) I did twist my ankle once, it just buckled over when I was walking one day. Then there was the time that I tore my foot open when I was riding my bike - I was younger and was wearing moccassins, and the bike hit a rock, tipped over, my shoe flew off and my foot got tangle up in the spoke. That was not good, there was blood everywhere :o

Sorry but that's what happens when I drink. :( Lately I've been listening to (country wise) Gary Allen, both Smoke Rings In The Dark and Alright Guy CDs, and Black Sabbath: We Sold Our Souls For Rock N Roll plus Nirvana: In Utero. I really enjoyed the O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack.
I love practically any type of cheese and I've never broken any bones but when I was 2, my brother cracked my head open with a garden hoe. I also have a burn mark on my hand where he burned me with a cigarette when I was 5.
How do you do multiple quotes in 1 post and intercut or break up someone's quote with your own thoughts? I've seen it done but can't figure it out.

How do you do multiple quotes in 1 post and intercut or break up someone's quote with your own thoughts? I've seen it done but can't figure it out. You have to write out the code yourself. Or use the buttons at the top of the page when your posting to help you out. I find that to be rather complicated, but use whatever works for you. As for writing the code yourself, It's easy. Just copy the code you see when you quote a post. It's not necessary to write the 'originally posted by' thing. Put quote tags around the part of the post you want to specifically respond to and then respond.
Here's how it would look(I have to use these '{}' instead of these '[]' so that it will show up on the boards but you are supposed to us the later brackets):
{quote}
Todd: I broke my right wrist ten years ago,{/quote}My response:Yes, that's some time ago!{quote}Todd:didn't hurt that bad though!{/quote}
My response:My mom said her finger hurt ALOT. I often hear that dislocations can hurt more than broken bones. I hope to never find out myself.
*Sips drink*
End example
But, of course, it would sort of look the way that it does in the above post. If you understood any of what I just said, I encourage to just play around with it 'till you get it right. You can do it here since not too many people post here. If you need further explaination just ask. Hmmm...that was probably a really crappy explanation.
flukeman
06-25-2004, 01:43 PM
That was a good explanation Garnet. It's hard to explain, you just need to do it yourself to see what happens. Copy/pasting the tags is the easiest way IMO.

{quote}
Todd: I broke my right wrist ten years ago,{/quote}My response:Yes, that's some time ago!{quote}Todd:didn't hurt that bad though!{/quote}
Thanks for the answer, I'll play around with it someother time, since I have been getting here really late the last few days.

I'd never seen her before in concert, but she was GREAT. Her voice sounds even better live, it was a wicked good show. Sting wasn't bad either :)
I took 5 years of French and was pretty good, but it's worn off and I don't remember a lot of it. I've been meaning for a while to pick up my books and start learning it again. I was never good enough to speak it in France though - my high school class went there and I was lost when the natives were talking :)
I prefer the good English, Irish and Scottish stouts. You can't beat Guinness :)

Ooh, we're singing Beatles songs? Count me in.
Can’t buy me love, love,
Can’t buy me love.
I’ll buy you a diamond ring my friend,
If it makes you feel alright,
I’ll buy you anything my friend,
If it makes you feel alright,
For I don’t care too much for money,
For money can’t buy me love.
I’ll give you all I’ve got to give,
If you say you love me too,
I may not have a lot to give,
But what I’ve got I’ll give to you,
For I don’t care to much for money.
For money can’t buy me love......
Hooray for the Beetles!
Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes.
Cellophane flowers of yellow and green,
Towering over your head.
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes,
And she’s gone.
Lucy in the sky with diamonds.
Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain
Where rocking horse people eat marshmellow pies,
Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers,
That grow so incredibly high.
Newspaper taxis appear on the shore,
Waiting to take you away.
Climb in the back with your head in the clouds,
And you’re gone.
Lucy in the sky with diamonds,
Picture yourself on a train in a station,
With plasticine porters with looking glass ties,
Suddenly someone is there at the turnstyle,
The girl with the kaleidoscope eyes.

Keep the Beatles coming :)
I read the news today oh boy
About a lucky man who made the grade
And though the news was rather sad
Well I just had to laugh
I saw the photograph
He blew his mind out in a car
He didn’t notice that the lights had changed
A crowd of people stood and stared
They’d seen his face before
Nobody was really sure
If he was from the House of Lords.
I saw a film today oh boy
The English Army had just won the war
A crowd of people turned away
But I just had to look
Having read the book.
I’d love to turn you on
Woke up, got out of bed,
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup,
And looking up I noticed I was late.
Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke,
And somebody spoke and I went into a dream
I heard the news today oh boy
Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the holes were rather small
They had to count them all
Now they know how many holes it takes
To fill the Albert Hall.
I’d love to turn you on.

This weekend I attended a barbeque/birthday celebration for my brother and nephew. One's birthday was Friday and the other's was Saturday. Let's see, I bought my brother Pink Floyd: The Wall on DVD and my nephew the Shrek/Shrek 3-D 2 pack.
I had a hamburger, 2 helpings of carne asada with flour tortilla and roasted potatoes. It was excellent. Washed it down with water and Dr. Pepper. Bought 2 birthday cakes, one was a regular cake while the other was made with oreo cookies. Then today I kicked back, went swimming in our pool and listened to Pearl Jam's Lost Dogs CD. This was the first real weekend that I've had in a long time.

The beach sounds cool but it's too far away from me to get there very often. You could always take a barbeque with you:). Ah... the beach, it reminds me of one of my favourite songs: "We can live beside the ocean/leave the fire behind/swim out past the breakers/and watch the world die."

It was from the song "Santa Monica" by Everclear. They're one of my favourite bands.

I know how you feel. I've haven't been getting to bed til 3 am the last few weeks. Too much time on the net.

I've been staying up till midnight all this week and I thought that was late - 3 am would probably kill me :)

I don't plan on staying up so late, it's just that I forget about the time while I'm playing games or surfing. Next thing I know it's almost 3.

I work all day in the Blue Sky mines, so there'll be food on the table tonight. The company gets what the company wants, cause everybody knows there's nothing as precious as a hole in the ground. Who's going to save me...

Welcome back. Here have a drink on me. *orders another beer*
I won't likely say what I do in life for real, so I quoted a Midnight Oil song instead. :)

Your welcome. I'm doing good and you? No, not into mining but I love that song. I haven't been doing much except watching DVDs and swimming, I have an inground pool that's 8 1/2 feet deep at one end. Last week I had one of these on my living room floor:

It's called both a wind scorpion and camel spider. It was 6 inches long and I found another one last night. They're not supposed to like being around humans, so what the hell are they doing in my living room?! From what I read about them, they eat birds and mice and are so fast when they are running that the human eye can't see them.

the wind scorpion is six inches long......yikes for sure ..i would be standing on the furniture....we have alot of spiders here but not that thing...it won't hurt humans?..it would make me hurt myself just trying to get away...*giggles and sips drink*...i would be afraid to sleep at night ...*hehe*...are you?...*goes to get gnarley a drink* i think you need a drink after having them as visitors........

Thanks for the drink. :)
I don't know if they're harmful to humans or not but I don't think I want to find out either. We also have brown recluse spiders whose bite can kill a person if you don't get medical attention right away and black widows. I'm not worried about widows though, they'll only bite if you make them angry. I saw a man on TV once who had one crawling across a table and he kept blocking it with his finger. It only changed directions. I was cleaning and put my hand into one's web and I think I even touched one of it's legs. Nothing happened. We even had a few snakes on our driveway. Most were gopher snakes (harmless) but a couple were rattlesnakes. My brother caught them and gave them to a friend who collects snakes. He has the fangs removed.

yes we have the brown recluse and black window as well as others and many snakes poisonous and non poisonous ...and alligators...and tons of mosquitos that carry the west nile virus...
i am beginning to think i need to move ...yikes....you too...double yikes......giggles... *gulps drink*
