I should catch this flick with my Pa and his fireman buddies. When we did that with Backdraft they all started naming which character matched guys at their station.

And they ripped the technical stuff. But you know, I found a copy of Hans Zimmer's Backdraft score in my Dad's CD case. :)

I actually got a chance to see this movie a few months ago.. probably back in november 03. It was actually pretty good.. the whole movie is based on Joaquin Phoenix's life [ more of a flashback of his life then to the present ] .. its really interesting how they did all the fire effects. Its a good movie.

I don't like generic firefighter or police films, but I do really like the premise of the entire movie revolving around a firefighter trapped in a burning building and looking at all the angles of getting him out. Reminds me of how NBC's awesome but never fully appreciated show Boomtown started out...

Oct 1st I'm really looking forward to this one. I kind of think its a shame there aren't many fire fighter movies. I'm glad they got some good actors for this one.

i liked backdraft too, which is a big part of my looking forward to this, but....

phoenix + travolta > russel + baldwin

caught a screening of it last night and it is really great! The fire effects are very cool and I did not expect it to end the way it did.... I give it 3.5 out of 4...definitely worth seeing.

This is a post 9/11 movie, nothing more. It was good, no great imo. I paid $10CAN for two tickets and was very happy with my money spent!
