Well, seeing as how the forum is closed now, I figured that there could be a thread devoted only to Van Helsing . . .
Mods, close it if you want to, I don't care . . .

Why did they close the forum? Aren't there sequels to talk about?
Tornado
05-15-2004, 10:59 AM
I personally think it was a stupid decision, if the mods had to get rid of a forum they should have picked the Mission Impossible one instead . . .

How many van helsing threads can be made?
Tornado
05-15-2004, 11:05 AM
In this forum? Well, first off, what's your thread (I'm assuming it would be yours) be about? Because if it's anything like this one the mods will surely close it . . .

grrrrr, I wish they didn't close it. They could have waited a few weeks. It just came out.
We were talking about the Londond Assignment DVD, people's reactions to the movie, the plot twists. they should have given us warning

Yeah, I agree there Mags, I was not pleased with that decision either, they should have closed the MI forum instead, or the Chronicles of Narnia forum . . .

Crap guys i didnt know that they closed the forum. Now i know why you made this thread. But there is a lot of people that have started review threads.

Yeah, I said that they closed the forum in my first post, and I would assume that the mods will leave this thread open as they did with the Matrix thread that was made a while ago even though there were review threads made on it . . .

Yes a MI forum is kinda lame.
Both films in that series blew.Imo of course.

IMO as well there snik, we also have a Pirates of the Caribbean forum still, that could have been deleted instead of Van Helsing . . .

Ahh oh well, **** Van Helsing. The movie sucked anyways.
Bring on a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy forum.

05-15-2004, 12:07 PM
That's fine Brock, but that's only 1 opinion, I don't think the Van Helsing forum should have been deleted when we still have a "Mission Impossible" forum and a "Pirates of the Caribbean" board . . .
Brock Landers
05-15-2004, 12:08 PM
Well, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE should go too. I still don't see the point of that forum. Goodbye Helsing, and hopefully goodbye M.I.

If they were both deleted, then I wouldn't really care because I'd figure that the mods were just deleting forums that show little activity . . .

Which is a good thing.....

Yes, that's true, but the Pirates and MI boards are just stupid, I don't think that Van Helsing deserved it's own forum, but neither did the other 2 . . .

The thing is that Van Helsing hasn't even been fully released worldwide yet. Someone I know who posted in the section hadn't seen it yet cause it doesn't open till the 27th. I think they are in Puerto Rico.

It would be nice, but they won't bring it back. The mods rarelt change their decisions. :( Plus, all the threads are still here, just hidden and spread out.

The thing is I think the Admins are thinking about this in the long run.
Mission Impossible 3 is shooting soon.
POTC 2 & 3 are shooting soon
Kong is shooting soon
HP POA hasnt been released yet and the filming of GOF wont be long after
Indy 4 might be filming sometime soon
Van Helsing is gone because there isnt any talk or confirmation of sequels for it, I dont understand why it was closed down so quickly either, IMO I dont understand why the LOTR forum is still open (I know people might get pissy over this) but all there is left are the TE and the EE DVD's which if the whole film of Van Helsing can be discussed in one thread surely they could have there own thread in the DVD section.

That's right on the dot spidey for almost all things you mentioned (man I hate arguing with you, you're always right it seems ;)) but I believe that there is talk of a sequel for Van Helsing . . .
I could be completely wrong, I'm not sure, but in the VH forum there was a thread about having a sequel. I believe it was called "Now it's out, do you want a sequel", it was a poll. One of the board members mentioned that there was talk of a sequel underway (I can't remember who) . . .
I'll find the link . . .
MagsXGill29
05-16-2004, 08:14 AM
My only problem is just that they gave us no warning. There were some links that I would have liked to have kept, but It will take forever to find them now.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too . . .

05-16-2004, 08:18 AM
Yeah but there is no conformation thats official or anything like that, could just be a bunch of Internet fan boys making stuff up and the rumour hype picking it up and blowing it out of proportion.
Thats what made the VH forum different, all the other films are official going to be made (with the exception of the LOTR forum but I have already said how I feel about that), VH is the only one without a confirmed sequel at the moment.
Some warning would have been nice, but when they took out the Terminator forum we had no warning it was going when I came on one day it was gone and all the new forums were up.
Tornado
05-16-2004, 08:20 AM
I take it you didn't see that link above yet so I won't argue . . .
Read snik's post towards the end of the thread, that's the one I was talking about . . .

You mean this?
I seen on The Space Channel in Canada that the sequel if it's a go will Feature THE INVISIBLE MAN AND THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON.
Not sure how much stock is in that but most of what they said in the past few years has been true.
Yes I did see it when I wrote my last post, and I am right.
Where is the confirmation saying that this is true?
And another main thing in that quote is
" that the sequel if it's a go"
So again I will say there is nothing official on VH2, just internet and TV rumours that are spreading around that could turn out to be true in a few years.
Tornado
05-16-2004, 08:34 AM
Wait wait wait, I never said that there was confirmation of a sequel, just that there was talk of a sequel, meaning I'm right . . .
spiderman_2k
05-16-2004, 08:38 AM
When I say talk I mean in the studios, by your logic 2 people could once talk about a Scream 4 that doesnt mean we should have a forum dedicated to it.
By looking at the films I listed that were having sequels made I thought it was clear what I meant by "talk" and in the same line I put "confirmation" so it cant have been that hard to understand.
And yes for me to accept that talk is underway regarding a sequel I like to see some proof, a link from Universal saying they have someone working on the script or something like that.
Anything else is really not confirmation that talks or anything at all is happening on the sequel.
And as you said in your post regarding Sniks quote
One of the board members mentioned that there was talk of a sequel underway (I can't remember who) . . .
There actually isnt that we know of, just some rumours that have spread around that happen after all major films are released.
Mummy 3 was supposed to be out by now and be set in contempary times if we were to believe the rumours after The Mummy Returns was released.
Tornado
05-16-2004, 08:49 AM
Well, snik did say that what he heard was on the Space Channel in Canada (I'm assuming it's a television channel) . . .
spiderman_2k
05-16-2004, 08:51 AM
The space channel isn't official confirmation of talks.
Like I said, at the moment it's all rumours and chances are thats why the Admins removed the forum, probably once a sequel is officialy confirmed they may put it back up.
Tornado
05-16-2004, 08:55 AM
Yeah it is man, it said "if the sequel is a go, the villains will be . . ." that means that the studio has at least given thought to the possibility of a sequel, also meaning that there are talks of a sequel . . .
spiderman_2k
05-16-2004, 09:01 AM
So again by your logic I can say, Star Wars Episode VII...If it's a go will have the jedi fall to a new order (or something that sounds believeable) on a website, and if that rumour filters around the web and people start believing it then its official?
Universal never squashed the Mummy 3 rumours that came after The Mummy Returns was released, and I doubt they will squash these rumours.
And of course they thought about a VH2 it would have been thought about before VH was released, but whether talks are in place for it is yet to be seen.
And the rumours about those creatures hold no truth, as without confirmation all that info is rumours.
Tornado
05-16-2004, 09:03 AM
I don't think you get it, I never said that there was confirmation, I KNOW there is no confirmation, you can stop bringing that up . . .
But, there IS talk, a studio wouldn't talk about a sequel if there wasn't going to be one . . .
Besides, this is Hollywood, there will be a sequel, hell there's going to be a sequel to the Passion apparently, there'll be a sequel to VH . . .

Can you provide a link? Because I have searched the CS! news archives and I cant find anything about it.
There was nothing about it in the VH forum when it was still open.
Where did you read it?

Damnnit!!! The article is talking about a sequel to Van Helsing but they're actually talking about the "London Assignment" which was an animated prequel if you didn't know . . .
Damn my stupid-ass newspaper . . .

Summer 2007 wouldn't be bad, It'd give them time to think of a decent storyline.

- Universal has promoted the hell out of this
- Hyped their star
- Big summer movie
- A crapload of tie-ins
- Bank at the box office (only dropped to number 2 this weekend, I see)
Is it not completely obvious that Universal wants this to become a franchise?
And these are just the points that I see even if I haven't actually seen the movie...

I tend to not believe anything about summer film sequels until I hear something official.
Im talking about the villains here.

I know there will be a sequel, but I dont think its on Universals priority list at the moment and wont be out until 2006/2007.
So any talk of villains for the next film are just rumours.
