Ok, this may seem weird but ask yourself, what is Pulp Fiction about? I tried explaining it to my friend and couldn't, nothing came to mind. There really is no central plot that you can explain to someone, so please if you can, explain. What is Pulp Fiction about?

Hmm, if there was any central character, I would say it was Marcellus (Ving Rhames). You could say he was an important crime leader and the movie "revolves" around some of the people that work for him and are part of his life and buisness.

Pup fiction is actually a movie with some separate stories involved. There is no central plot.
The characters are floating from one episode to another with no serious connection. Just like in reality, you know. The movie is about the influance they make on each other.
But definetly not about "bang-bang". Bandit stuff plays here as a background.
BTW, try to tell me, what was Clockwork Orange about. No, seriously! Some movies doesn't have to be explained.

I disagree, all the main characters in Pulp Fiction can be brought together rather easily, they just don't keep them together. They follow their own stories rather than how they deal with each other.
And as for Clockwork Orange, in a nut shell it is about rehabiliating a criminal that doesn't go so well.

Pulp Fiction is about how God (or some other karmic force) tries to get two gangsters to leave the business. He succeeds with one gangster... Doesn't with the other.

Its a story about Redemption. Just watch it and you can see this. All of the characters get redemption some how.

Just my nickels worth:
Pulp Fiction is a movie that portrays the seedier side of life in LA where you follow 3 different stories that are eventually woven together. It is more of a character driven movie, as opposed to the "normal" plot driven movie. (Is there really such a thing as a normal movie?) ;)
I like the way Tarantino tells the stories - in chapters and snippets, showing us how they intertwine, and then how they eventually come together. Such as, in the beginning we have the couple (portrayed by Amanda Plummer & Tim Roth) plotting their latest caper, and in the background - if you listen carefully - you can hear Vega and Winnfield talking. Near the end of the movie, you see this scene from Vega and Winnfield's vantage point; and again, you can hear the other characters in the background.
A great Tarantino movie. :applaud:

Simplest explanation:
It's a movie containing 3 different story lines that all intertwine in the end and have a central theme of redemption.
And if they ask what the 3 dif story lines are, tell them (but don't reveal to much, ya know).

But is she being redeemed for using the drugs in the first place, or for overdosing? No.

I know that, I love the movie, its just that when my friend asked me what it was about I drew a blank and thought it was kinda funny. Still a great movie though, probably because of how outside the box it is, which explains the lack of inability to explain what it is about.

Mia is redeemed because she avoids the temptation of John Travolta's character. JT's character is partially redeemed here, but his lack of focus catches up with him later.

It is about how God tries to get two gangsters to quit the business (redeem themselves) and everyone involved.
That's what I would say... seems like a central plot to me.

It seems to me that she was more of a temptation than he was. I don't think she was ever really tempted by Vincent, at least not beyond a superficial level.

I'm not so sure about that. She felt the magic. You can see it in her expression as they dance through the door. She wanted it  .

I don't think she ever would have gone for it, though.

Yeah but listen to the line: "Don't you think it's more exciting when you don't have permission?"
And wasn't it she that offered (or demanded) a dance? hmmm.
