Lucio Fulci has Zombie, and Dario had Suspiria (which is one of my favorite horror movies) Opera (very underated film) and countless others which I think are better. I still love Lucio's work but for me Dario Argento is superior.

The Beyond is imo Fulci’s best work apart from that I do enjoy his other films, but do think his Giallos like Don’t Torture a Duckling are better then his more gorey films. While comparision of the two Italian directors is to be expected, it really isn’t fair to Fulci, these two directors have very different approaches to filmmaking in general, Fulci is the more no nonsense of the two, Argento the more artistic, and overall better filmmaker. I’ve said it before Argento fuses a form of beauty to his more violent of sequences and knows his way around with a camera. Suspiria is one of my favorite horror films period, as well as Tenebre another very underated Argento film. Anyway, Dario Argento is the better of the two, but in no way does that take away from or trivialize Fulci’s films, or Mario Bava’s for that matter.

yeah I agree, Bava's Demons is also one of my faves, The fact that there watching a horror movie and then all hell brakes loose, well... lets just say I always look around for an exit everytime I go to the movies. lol
