In the Past 2 Years we were given remakes of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Dawn of the Dead. IYO what do you think was the better remake?
I liked Dawn of the Dead more. It had Zombies it had action and it had its moments in the spotlight. Texas was pretty decent but not great.

Dawn of the Dead was a fantastic movie and worthy of having the same title as the original.
TCM was average.. just the same as the amazingly brilliant original with all the good bits taken out and alot of pointless stuff thrown in.

Dawn of the Dead owns, because I just couldn't get into the TCM remake. Also DOTD was just plain awsome, I loved every bit of it!

Texas Massacre was a HORRID bore, save for Jessica Biel. They gave this film a "supposedly" real history to it in a more "realistic" story? The black and white Psycho was much real in that context.
DOTD is the superior film, both original and remake.

I liked the Dawn of the Dead remake, but I still think its got nothing on the original. I don't feel its worthy.

I haven't seen either one yet, but DotD looks like it's much much better. TCM claims to be closer to the "real" story but I don't think it really is. No matter. It looks like utter puke. I'll probably rent DotD, but I won't be seeing TCM until it's on TV.

Save your money. I ordered TCM on pay-per-view and well, it was like you said "utter puke". Now if you wanna watch "Ed Gein" starring Steve Railsback. This is the real deal, his story inspired the likes of Pyscho and TCM.

The character Buffalo Bill (Silence of the Lambs) was also inspired/based on Gein.
I have a link somewhere to a site that covers the factual information about Ed Gein really well.
