Romeros Dead Reckoning Greenlit?!?

We all knew zombie movies are the "in" thing right now, so that definitely helped in what we are about to report to you! Romero is in the process of getting started on Diaomond Dead, so now he's got two zombie flicks in the works! Anyways, here's the news you've wanted for years- inside you'll find the scoop regarding George Romero's fourth zombie flick entitled Dead Reckoning!!

"Just got off the phone with a VERY reliable source and am happy to announce [and pissed that our News/Rumors is down] that Romero's newest zombie movie has been given the green light - and we got the scoop!!

After word/rumors of this installment have floated around for how long, Fox gave the green light just today [5.10.04] and this 4th zombie/dead installment, still being called 'Dead Reckoning' is now actively looking at locations for shooting. 'Reckoning' is said to take place after the events of Day of the Dead.

George and several cast members from the original installments - Night of the Living Dead [Kyra Schon, Russ Streiner, and John Russo], Dawn of the Dead [Ken Foree, David Emge, Scott Reiniger, Sharon Ceccatti, and Clayton Hill], and Day of the Dead [Lori Cardille, Joe Pilato, Gary Klar, and Anthony DiLeo] - will also be at the Horrorfind Convention this August in Baltimore - can you smell a theme?

And if that's not enough zombies and Romero news for you... George is also working on pre-production for another zombie film called Diamond Dead, about a young women working with a zombie band on a mission to kill 365 people in one year's time."

Too early to tell on Diamond Dead. There's not enough info on it to tell if it will be good or not. Of course, I try to wait till the movie is actually out do decide that for myself. There are some exceptions, though. There are quite a few movies I haven't seen because I pre-judged them to be bad. Sometimes I'm right, sometimes I'm wrong.

I hope Reckoning is back on track, though.

Jen over at Rue Morgue got the official word on this rumor floating around the web about the fourth romero flick, "Both Night of the Living Dead: Dead Reckoning and Diamond Dead (based on a script by Brian Cooper) have not yet been officially greenlit but Romero says, on the record, that they are very close to making a deal with Fox and Scott Free on the two films respectively. Nothing is official really until they are on set, but it's looking very good."

A little tid-bit of news regarding Diamond Dead and that Marilyn Manson has been cast as a pot smoking Jesus Christ, which I think has been mentioned already but I'll put this article here anyway.
